I love when they replay the games. It gives me an opportunity to watch selected, especially defensive, players rather than follow the ball (which I normally do on gameday).

Man, we should have blown them out of the water. Joe missed a few bombs and for the life of me I don't know how Clayton missed that seam route deep....Like he lost the ball!

Yeah, but I loved the fact we were actually taking shots down there. We've come a long way from Jim Fassel calling plays!

Bart Scott missed on a few tackles from what I saw. And Ed Reed, as always, was amazing.

The officiating is always what sticks out to me...

That pass interference call on Nakamura?

And then the one right after that where Fabian was pushed off of, so he grabbed on after. This one I could live with... but that first one was just horrible.

Clayton looked like he had lead weights in his shoes on two of those bombs. If we're going to take advantage of a strong-armed QB, we need a FAST WR. No sense throwing it down the field if no one can get there to catch it.

The other thing I had forgotten about that game is what a beast Leonhard was. I think we're going to miss him more than Scott, though I know we have lots of talent at Safety.

I watched the replay today. One thing that I did not notice in the original game was that Joe Flacco assisted on a tackle of the player that intercepted his throw in the first qtr. That was awesome

Flacco didn't throw any INTs, in either game versus the Dolphins.

what i forgot was mcgahee's long run and ed reed almost had three Int's. Also the anouncer said that mark was open but flacco checked down and mark would of had a big game if flacco didnt overthrown him so many times.

The NFL Network is showing the replay of our playoff game against the Dolphins at 4:00 today (Sunday).
That had to be the easiest game for Ed Reed, he didn't even have to cover the deep part of the field. Chad just kept throwing side to side and when he did throw across the middle well we all watched the game :)

I agree and this happened throughout the regular season also.If we could get a fast decent WR, we really could be very dangerous this year b/c Flacco is going to put it out there and it seems like Flacco is more of an up tempo type of QB(homerun hitter) rather than dink and dunking the ball for 5 and 10 yard gains all the way down the field.

Wow Bart Scott Missed a lot of tackles. I love how Ed almost had 3 picks. He droped the 3rd one.

Gaither Dominated Joey Porter, and Holliday. OMG why does this guy not get more recognition.

Flacco missed by about an inch on a lot of the deep balls, but i think Dwill could run under them, or atleast go up and get it. Dont forget the pittsburgh game, when flacco underthrew Williams.

It was a good game though.

Yeah, I was noticing Leonhard, too. He looked really good out there. Like you said, we have lots of talent at safety - Let's hope we see it on the field this year.

Yeah, I noticed it too and replayed it a couple of times. He reacted to the fumble quickly.

One of the great things about them replaying these games is that I can rewatch the plays a lot of times without worrying about being so far behind the actual gametime and wondering what is happening [or annoying other people if I'm watching the game with company].

One of my favorite things to rewatch is the other defenders when we intercept a ball or pick up a fumble. I love to watch the transition from defense to offensive blocker. I don't know why, it's just cool. It's kind of teamwork at its best. I must have replayed Reed's interception for a TD a dozen times. The first few times to watch Reed and then I watched each of his teammates in that area react to the interception and become a blocker. I loved it.

i don't think it was so much that mark had lead weights on but that flacco overthrew him. if flacco was more accurate and timed mark better they would have been completions because on all of those plays mark had a step on his defender. it seemed that flacco was more in sync with mason than clayton (he could gage mason's speed better than clayton). I think with more practice they will be more in tuned to each other. but flacco does need to be a little more accurate on his deep throws because clayton would have had some big plays if he was on target.

I was in miami for this game we dominated!!! that miami offense was good at not turning the ball over best in the nfl all season...BUT that game the ravens showed you just what are d can do and have done for the past 7-8 years.....

This year I think we can break the 2000 team record of 165 points allowed...Because I think the offense will pound the ball work clock and the d will get alot of rest time and I expect Flacco to be in the pro bowl for the afc this year! But mason lose is a huge blow hopfully Harbaugh can talk some sence into him and he will realize this is our year and he is walking away from something special here....And he needs not to let his emotions take control he is prolly still grieving Mcnair..But he can come back and dedicate this year to MAC-9 and we can go 14-2 if he comes back we will be 14-2 I can see that! But we need Mason!!!!!!!!! Mason deserves to walk away when he wants to he has earned that but to walk away when we are so close and have a heck of a shot! I think Mason should we think it!

couldnt agree more... clayton had a step on the defendr on those two overthrows and he missed a wide open bomb probably cuz he was watchin mason than checked down to the RB. also watch this game and tell me Clayton is not just a mason clone

clayton:
7:20 1st(gameclock) good double move step on defender overthrown

5:36 1st ran good rout found hole in the zone faught for and got first after hit by 2 tacklers

1:37 2nd "Mark Clayton was open and it was a big play" Flacco roll out left and check down to Willis

:44 2nd watch the top right of your screen Clayton is double covered and has a couple steps on both defenders

12:39 3rd good rout with good body position(boxed out defender), left arm grabbed by both hands of MIA#21. no call...

8:18 3rd good rout, nice "jabstep" at the end, and again fought after hit for the first

13:09 4th had separation from defender, overthrown

12:20 4th again separation enough to cross from outside to inside the defender and still have a step on him, dove for the ball, "out of reach for Clayton" overthrow

now that they had a whole offseason to work it out i cant wait to see what Flacco to Clayton will really mean

love to see Clayton get 100+ balls tossed his way this year i dont think he has had that chance yet

yeah he was beastly at Safety, I know he was our back up, but you can't deny after last years performance he could have easily been our starting SS.... I think if we kept him along with Landry, we could be even more scary in the secondary.... due to one of our Safeties always being rested

This was a good game! Joe had a lot of time in the pocket, I have to give the O-Line props. Joe Flacco has one hell of a arm. All of those deep balls he threw were great, we just need a WR that can run under those passes. M. Clayton just could not get there for whtever reason.

thank you for pointing this out. everyone is just saying that we need a wr that can run under the ball because we have a strong armed qb... i don't care how fast you are, you're not going to catch the ball if the qb overthrows you. flacco can throw the ball long but he needs to be more accurate on his deep throws and gage his receivers' speed better. there is no excuse for him not throwing those balls on the money. if he hit clayton in stride on those plays they would have been big gains or td's, no question.

ya im sick of ppl saying he cant get open and he is never doubled because he is no threat they obveously dont watch the same games as me because i see a ton of untaped potential he just needs throws to make something happen with his stats because i guess that is the deciding factor for most ppl as to if he is a bust or not

I disagree. Yes Flacco had a pretty good game, but those deep balls weren't great. They both were over thrown. If you watch the replay of that game, look at Flacco, on both attempts he had pressure on him and wasn't able to proper set his feet.

On the first attempt Flacco had pressure that didn't allow him to step into his throw. He missed Clayton by a half step. As was mentioned before Clayton had a step on his man, if Flacco was able to step into his throw, instead of rushing it, i think we score.

On the second one, Clayton actually beat the double team and got behind the coverage. However Flacco was hit as soon as he released the ball and again wasn't able to step into it properly.

I know a lot of people don't think Clayton is good, and everyone loves Flacco, but i think you have to put these failed attempts on the oline for not giving Flacco the proper time to find his man. Clayton did his job getting behind the coverage, Flacco did what he could to get the ball to him. But the oline needed to hold their blocks just a split second longer.

Seem you were playing football in pop warner, your coaches always told you that it was a game of inches. We'll both of those plays proved it.

quick note about those two plays. It was both Willie Anderson and Jason Brown that allowed the pressure on those two plays. Just thought that was interest because neither guy is here anymore.

Okay, everyone get off of Mark Clayton AND Joe Flacco. Clayton has been injured a lot, so we know he doesn't have a chance to ever get into a nice rhythm throughout a season because by the time he starts heating up, he gets an injury. And Flacco was in his first season. He couldn't develop a chemistry that fast. Going through this offseason KNOWING he's the starter on Day 1 should definitely help things. He will be solely focused on how he can improve in the field, and not how he can fit in and not piss off any veterans.

We know Dawan Landry can play. He was competing for rookie of the year in his first season. Even the Raven-hating media was mentioning his name, so that speaks volumes! BUT... a spinal injury is a big thing, just like Ed Reed's injury... and if Landry can't commit to those head-on tackles to save touchdowns then he's really going to hamper the defense.
