Nfl Network's New Insider Was A Ravens Fan!

5 posts in this topic

In an NFL.com live chat, Adam Schefter's replacement, Jason La Canfora, admitted to being a Ravens fan before his job at the Washington Post forced him to stay objective.

In response to a question about his favorite team:

[quote]Grew up rooting for the Baltimore Colts (I am from Baltimore and live in that area now). When they left for Indy I became a San Diego Chargers fan. When the Ravens came to town I was living in Detroit, but a lot of family and friends have Ravens PSLs and I was a Ravens fan until I started covering the league for The Washington Post. At that point you're Sundays are spent working all day, and you end up rooting for late deadlines and good storylines. So the fan aspect goes away, but not one's love for the game itself.

I'm becoming a fan of La Canfora already!

In all seriousness, though, he's gradually earning my respect. He's no Adam Schefter yet when it comes to late-breaking news and insider scoops, but he presents his information well and should eventually grow into his role on the NFL Network. As for Schefter, I haven't seen him on ESPN yet, but I hope that he isn't lost in the shuffle; they already have John Clayton and Chris Mortensen, and those two already have to fight for enough scoops and air time as it is.

Yeah! I read that and was pretty surprised, a Baltimore boy, who'da thunk it?

I like him more than most of the "analysts" of NFLN. Jamie Dukes, need I say more?

Yeah, I figured he was a Ravens fan... He always had a lot of information on them and talked when he was in front of M&T Bank Stadium once.

Schefter doesn't start his job with ESPN until August 17th!
