Wr's Available Next Season

11 posts in this topic

Ok, so I think it's pretty safe to say that neither Marshall or Bouldin are coming here this season.IMO if Mason decides to go through with retirement, I think that the Ravens should pick up a veteran FA receiver such as Harrison or Toomer just to make sure that we can remain competitive this year if Williams and Clayton don't step up like we all hope they can. Next year however the Ravens would have to resolve the situation by making a play on a free agent or via the draft. Ok, now my question is who will be available after this season?

Harbs and his coaches seems to like molding there own players. Plus the Ravens ussually don't be big splashes in the FA pool. Marshall, Edwards, and White will probably price out early and Ozzie usually doesn't play until the market levels out.

So with that being said, i think the guy from that list that would be a Raven would be Vincent Jackson. Cam already knows him and he already knows the system. He is a big pyshical WR that Cam likes. Last year was his first really putting up good numbers, so unless he just explodes this year he won't be a high priced FA.

I really think the Ravens will look to draft a WR in the next 2 years. Or Maybe a TE like Jermaine Gresham 1st round next year, and a WR like DeAndre Brown the year after.

Having Flacco will make this WR thing much easier, just watch

I do like your pick of Vincent Jackson for the coach compatability.
My pick from that list is Greg Jennings this guy is underrated.
Although I dont think the Packers underrate him and they will resign.
I think this guy has it all, big play guy with great hands.
Only 25 going into his fourth season and his prime.
His career stats are okay but his progression every year is on track to be one of the top 5 for sure.

I would give Marvin Harrison a chance.

The thing that would be good about signing Harrison is that it would not sit well with Colts fans, I think I would enjoy watching Flacco and Harrison torch the colts and out perform Manning and his wanna be Harrison receivers.

The thing that scares me about Harrison is that a guy like this doesn't just sit around. I could see if he was cut late and then wanted to wait for the right situation, but he was cut during the time of FA. There is a reason Harrison is sitting out there and i don't think it's because he doesn't wanna attend camp. I think he has some injuries that has scared teams off.

He only played in 5 games in 07 and had a down year last season. So i'm not sure about Harrison, i think the name sounds better then the production would be.

Jennings already resigned. Isn't Boldin a free agent next year or is he in two years?
[/quote]

Yea Jennings extended last month. Boldin has 2 years left on his contract.

I think Roddy White and the Falcons are in negotiations right now but I would love to see him in purple.

Marshall will still be young and a monster in a year.

Jackson is a big target. He is probably the most attainable on this list. I like the idea of him here.

If Braylon Doesnt have a knockout year this year he may come fairly cheap. I will never sleep on Braylon, he has too much talent. I also think he would like t move within the divisin to stick it to the browns 2 times a year

Wr's i like in next years draft Damien Williams from USC (Boldin type player and build) Dez Bryant OSU....Or a late round sleeper David Nelson UF hes 6'5" and runs a 4.4 40. I know 40 times arent everything but thats some good size too. However I tend to be a little hesitant when looking at UF for WR prspects and rightfully so as a ravens fan
