Madden Deal/Amazon Deal

11 posts in this topic

Purple Reign,

I use amazon for a lot of my PS3 purchases, no shipping, no tax. I initially received $30 off for applying/approval for a Amazon visa when I bought my HDTV through them. I get points on that card when I use my card which turns into credits which I use to get my games free, or with nice discounts.

Madden on amazon is discounted $3 right now for $56.99. This $3 will disapear soon, likely back to 59.99. It's already dropped $3 and gone back to full price, now it's back down $3 again, again it will go back up sooner than later. They are also offering a $10 amazon gift card as well when you purchase Madden by August 13th; you'll get the gift card via email once the game ships out. This is something you guys should take advantage of. I don't buy a ton of games but I love it when I do, because it's discounted or free depending on how active you are with your card.

You don't have to apply/approved for the card that comes with a $30 amazon credit, you can just buy madden before august 13th and you get a $10 off amazon card for a future purchase. Again right now it's $3.00 off and that can end tonight or two weeks from now, who knows, but the $10 off giftcard deadlines august 13th.

You can also trade your games in for a credit thru amazon, not much, but a nice feature and they pay the shipping and if its rejected for any reason they'll pay for shippping back.

I'm getting madden for about $14 I had points on my amazon card available, I already prepaid for cod6 for $0, hehe I love it.

e.g....if you guys applied for the card and bought madden it would be $33 off...$59.99-$3 discount(they generally discount new games $3 to get prepaid orders lined up)-$30(for getting a amazon visa)=$26.99, plus you'd get a $10 amazon card for a future purchase. You could say the game was 16.99 really, with the $10 coming off later.

They price match so you can buy the item early on, well before it's released and if it drops for any reason you are going to get the best price amazon offers, and they aren't going to charge you until it's shipped, so you have plenty of time to cancel if you change your mind.

I've bought my hdtv, my ps3, my sub compact camera, and all my games thru them, because I gather up points, I get discounts, it's price competitive, it's delivered and I don't have to pay tax or shipping.

No I dont work for amazon, I just love how they do business. They are my favorite vendor and I thought I'd share this with my Baltimore Ravens brethren.

I love Amazon.com's Amazon Prime program! I order through Amazon frequently, so it only made sense for me to go ahead and sign up. For a one month free trial (and then $79 for 12 months, if you choose to subscribe), you get FREE two-day shipping on all orders and FREE release-date shipping on pre-orders. Two-day shipping can be pretty costly, so considering how often I order (especially textbooks and school stuff), it more than pays for itself after a couple of orders.

I pre-ordered NCAA Football 2010 from Amazon, and it was discounted at about $53. With free release-date shipping, I essentially paid $7 less for something I'd end up getting after work on the release date anyway, AND I save on gas and don't have to go out of my way to grab the game. :)

Yeah, I wait normal delivery to get it free, but if time is an issue, sure it's worth it, but $80 is $80 bucks ;).

You guys don't seem to be too enthused...I tell you how i can save you money and you guys think i'm scamming you or something, fine fine, pay full prices for your games. ;) . If I didn't explain it well enough or you have another question ask it here or you can leave me a message in my inbox or hit me up on the psn PS3 users.

I'll try to make it clearer...

If you are going to get Madden it's $3 off right now 56.99 at Amazon.com. (that is subject to change daily back to full price more than likely)

They are additionally giving a $10 Amazon gift card for Madden orders placed before August 13th.

They will give you the lowest price of that item if you place an order in advance.

Personally I place my orders well in advance and will cancel the order if i see an early negative review of a game that way im ensured the lowest price and i dont have to sit on Amazon daily and check their best price.

Because you are ordering in advance you can cancel the order before it's release date if you wanted to for any reason.

I'd feel comfortable cancelling this Madden order if it's released on the 14th of august, up to august 12th; if it got a bad review or if i had second thoughts about the upcoming release. To me it looks like it's going to be an excellent madden it already won awards at E3, the big video game annual conference.

Lastly, I talked about the amazon credit card if you apply and get approved you get $30 off your first order and get 3% rewards. It's my only credit card I use so I rack up points for my ps3 entertainment. I hate paying full price for these games so by doing this it makes it easier. I already am getting COD6 free, and Madden I'm going to pay about $24 that's not including the additional $10 gift card for a future video game; Nba Live 2010 or Uncharted 2.

Geeky video game post...end. ;) .

OK this is what I'm gonna do, damn' i love this....

I'm going to preorder at gamestop aka rapestop get the exclusive full DEMO game sb repeat arz vs dumb steelers then cancel my preorder. this is a full special gamestop exclusive demo. released a week earlier liek the 23rd of july. the public gets a seperate demo a week later that's 1 min or 2 min quarters cowboys giants.

i'll then cancel my rapestop preorder make sure i pay with cash get my full refund then buy it through amazon hopefully still get the $3 off (it's currently $3 less than full price) and the $10 amazon gift card.

early on in my ps3 career all i knew was rapestop and they raped me multiple times this is how again i will get back at them as well as renting any used game and returning it within 7 days for $0.

the most this will cost me is the $3 if the amazon price goes back to full price.

Depending on the store, they might not give you a cash refund; it might be store credit instead. Unless you have the cash to burn, don't risk it. That, or just drop $5 for the preorder and if it doesn't work, you've only lost $5 to store credit instead.

I'll get the $5 back for sure I asked two employees at seperate gamestops if i can get a full refund if i dont liek the demo, and just on principle I'll bug the shi* outta them until they give me it worst case.

again that gamestop demo is far superior, a full game sb repeat, .....vs..... the cowboys /eagles int he snow for 1min qtrs a week later to the public.

Though I don't mind buying used games from Gamestop (there are some legit bargains at times), I refuse to ever buy a new copy of a game from them again. For one, they have this policy where they take game discs out of the box (unless it's a pre-ordered copy) and put them in a sleeve behind the counter; this "taints" the physical quality of the disc for me, since it's not really new -- they could've played that copy for all you know, and you'd be none the wiser if you had a defect. Not only that, but they put price stickers ON the box; what happens when you're giving the game as a gift? Not only that, but the sticker bothers me because it's a constant reminder of how much I paid for it, and it ruins the aesthetics of the box art.

I know that sounds finicky, but if I pay $60 for a brand-new copy of a game, I better damn well get the game in its original packaging, and the case better look new. I've gotten in the habit of keeping my game cases on display but take the discs out and put them in a CD booklet -- that way, I get to show off my large collection while protecting myself from theft when my parents have guests with children over. Not only that, but it also allows me to carry my games around all in one place since I move my PS3 around often.

that's why i refer to it as rapestop, i've been raped multiple times in my early ps3 life from there, when i didn't know about amazon, now i am happy with amazon very much so, but i continue to keep sticking it to rapestop in my mind at least....renting used ps3 newer titles and returning them within a week and getting my toal refund back, a free rental if you will. now i just put $5 down at rape so i can get that full game demo sb repeat and will get my money back the next day saying oh i heard amazon is giving $3 off full price and a 10 amazon gift card, which they are. i paid cash so i'll get back cash. sticking it to the man that raped me, I'm a victim!

i returned nba live brand new for credit a month later for $17 I almost went postal, which they resold immediatly for $49.99.
