What About Tony Pashos At Rg?

7 posts in this topic

Last season we lost Dwan Edwards to IR and traded for Marques Douglas to address depth, now with question marks surrounding RG and depth at G/RT do you think Ozzy could pick up the phone for another former Raven?

This offseason the Jags picked up free agent LT William Thomas, two 1st round tackles and have Meester/Manuwai returning inside, it looks like Pashos is the odd man out after an average season marred by false starts. While he isn't quick enough to play tackle (ie false starts) he could really provide some much needed mauling and size inside at RG and even RT in a pinch.

(Also I have sweet, sweet, sweet memories of when he used to pummel Aaron Smith :P)

While I love Marshall Yanda at RG (the guy was a real scrapper with no real weaknesses) but he is coming off serious knee reconstruction but his best case scenario he misses 6 games and possibly works his way back into the starting spot or worst case scenario he ends up on IR.

Chris Chester filled in playing well at times, but horrible at others. He is our most athletic lineman but can't anchor or push the pile. He is at his best pulling and makes pretty good seal blocks down field, the downside is hes bad at picking up blitzes and getting a push in short yardage. Also with the huge NTs in our division he won't be playing centre.

Thoughts?

This is the same team that said last year that Khalif Barnes was their starter and franchise LT. Pashos was a penalty magnet at RT, and Eugene Monroe is the favorite to start the RT job, for this year at least he won't be playing LT.

This is just a possible scenario.

If nothing else Pashos can serve as a decent back up for them. After watching EVERY starter- except him, go down last year they probably have placed a very high value on good depth across the OL.

I think the Jags really like him, he's a captain or something like that. Would be nice to have a big physical guard like Pashos but i don't think the Jags would allow him to leave just yet.

No thanks. I was never a big fan of him when he was here and he couldn't wait to bolt and get paid. He can stay in Jacksonville.
