How Bengals Fans Feels About The Ravens

Rumor has it that Marvin has been hoping to get fired for years. Unfortunately (for him) the Bengals are too cheap to pay out his contract.

"We will sweep the Ravens unless we lose a game."

Ummm, yeah... thank you for that wonderful insight. Is there any other way you could possibly sweep? And to further things... just look at the Bengals. How in the world do you expect them to be BETTER when they LOSE their most consistent wide receiver? TJ Housh didn't just catch passes. He blocked for Chad and the running backs too! So you get Carson back, that's nice. How many good seasons did you have when he was healthy? ONE! So he's back, but one of his main weapons is GONE! Did you trade Housh to get any value in return? No! You let him become a free agent and he left you! No compensation! So really, how can you expect the Bengal to beat the Ravens? I expect the Bengals to finish behind the Browns in the standings this year. They're a lot closer to the 10-6 team they were 2 years ago than you Bengals are to your one playoff season in the last 8 years.

Remember how much crap Browns fans talked last year? James Walker on the ESPN AFC North blog revisited a bunch of comments people made during the offseason last year and it was comical to see how cocky the Browns fans were. I honestly feel like Cincinnati is a better team than Cleveland now. We shouldn't talk trash to these guys, because it is that much sweeter when you watch that arrogance go right out of the window.

This kind of talk about the Ravens not being as good as last year is going to jump up another level if the rumor about Mason retiring is true. :(

Lol, ahh the Bengals. I say they go 8-8, but no way do they sweep us. What other fans don't seem to realise is how well we cover our injuries. Our secondary is much deeper and healthier than it has been in ages.

But let them speculate, the more they get their hopes up, the better it will be when we crush them.

That's kind of funny lol. Oh btw I was kind of thumbing through their threads it seems that they all want CMac. They can have him..he'll take too much money and be hurt most of the season. These poor people think they they are going to sweep the Ravens, beat Pittsburgh, finish 11-5 and win the Division or atleast a wild card. obviously their kool-aide was spiked
ooh, should i not have done that?

Our achilles heel will be our defense? HAHAHA. Gotta be one of the funnier things I've read. When Marvin Lewis and Mike Nolan left, did our defense have a big dropoff? When AD went to the Pats, did we have any trouble finding someone to start in his place? Rex and Bart will be missed, but I'm not worried about their replacements whatsoever. We haven't seen our new secondary in action, but on paper it is arguably much better, younger, faster, and eager.

Flacco will not have a sophomore slump, considering the weak secondaries we will be facing half of the year.

That said, if the Palmer stays healthy, I can see the bengals getting back to around .500 this year, not much more.

Bengals

Look at some thoughts of delusional Bengal fans and their new found cockiness:

I realize they have a up and coming QB,a nice trio of RB's and a o-line that should be solid for years.
But I get this feeling that they might take a step back in 2009.
What WR/TE is going to step up and be the Flacco's money man? Todd Heap is now a "heap" of injuries.
Derrick Mason is past his prime.Mark Clayton isn't consistant.
I believe the Ravens achilles heel could be their defense.
Bart Scott's value to that defense cannot be overstated. I think at this point,Harbaugh still hasn't found his successor(Gooden?).
Ray Lewis could always depend on Scott being "johnny on the spot".
The Ravens CB's certinally aren't in the same league as the tandem of McAlister/Rolle.
Ed Reed can still bring it and make plays, but he can't carry a defense under going changes.
The Ravens might be the Pats of 2009 where they win 9-10 games and still not get into the playoffs.
I think this is one team the Bengals have to sweep in order to have a legit chance to get in the playoffs.

We sweep Ravens unless WE lose(blow) a game. I don't see them being as dominant as last year. I think they have question marks at WR and an Oline that still has something to prove. They do have a legit backfield and a good TE when healthy. Flacco will go through a sophmore slump..Their defense again will be what holds them above water..I think they go 7-9 and are third in the division behind Steelers and Bengals.

I can't wait for the season to start.

I guess he just is against the bengals

You know it's bad when the voice of reason on your forum is a Steeler.

"Their defense will be fine, They have an allstar defense and anyone with a decent football mind could make them beast. Plus Lewis won't let that D fail he has too much heart.

Offense side, I expect Flacco to take more control of the offense and when he does we will see if he is a solid QB or not. He has 3 solid running backs and his receivers? While they aren't elite they are good and they will be good enough."

I am a long time ravens fan living in Cincinnati. You should hear all the nonsense the fans here espout at work. They all claim they will own the ravens this year. It's funny though, because even the Steelers' fans at work laugh along with me at the Bengals' fans.

Because I read the local papers and hear all the hype, I can safely say that this city expects them to be great this season. I think they will do decent enough, along with the rest of the teams in the AFCN, (softer schedule) but they still do not have a solid offensive line. Just as last season, they will allow Palmer to get knocked around and eventually knocked out for another season. Without that O-line, they will be nothing.

Of course the fans here won't listen to reason. I wouldn't be surprised if Palmer receives a season ending injury within the first six games. Teams are going to throw everything at him because the O-line is so bad.

Dont worry Mark Clayton is not very consistant but he always shows up to the Bengals games ;)

Bengals need to be worried why their best player would rather tweet on the sidelines then watch the game, but then again if I had to watch that defense play I might start tweeting too

If that was the case...they would actually have a nice O-line...they would line up with shankes sticking out of their gloves...no defence would even try to rush if that was the case <_<

There seem to be bad omens for Carson Palmer with his declining arm strength, since that's been his strongest suit.

It may be another frustrating Ryan Fitzpatrick year for them.

We can't forget they swept us in '07, though. We're obviously a different team now, but I like to pretend I expect the Bengals to beat us. It feels so much better that way when we win, and it's less devastating if we lose. Plus, every year we're expected to be good, we're not, and visa versa.

Now they have Chase Coffman (Who?) at backup.
