I know we have some MMA fans here on the forums, was wondering who everyone things will win the big three fights tonight.

Lesner vs Mir: My pick is Lesner, the guy is a beast and his only lose is to Mir, i think he gets his revenge.

St. Pierre vs Alves: I'm kinda at a toss up for his fight. St. Pierre is really good, but havnt seen much of Alves, I want to see Alves win though

Henderson vs Bisping: Bisping all the way for this one. The brit is a great fighter and from watching him coach his uk team on the ultimate fighter, i'm a big fan of his.

I am just now getting into UFC, so I am not familiar with all the fighters (mainly the last 2)

I think I would go with Mir, due to his deadly submissions

than for the 2nd fight i'll go with Alves

and the third fight i've got no clue

a fight i would really like to see would be anderson silva vs leyoto machida (if they're in the same weight class, i think they are)

The rumor is that the winner of the Henderson-Bisping fight will fight silva for the championship. I think Machida is a weight class above silva though, i could be wrong, dont know their weights off the top of my head atm.

I was hoping for a St Piere victory..
Lesner was just to big when he was on 1/2 guard you can tell he had the advantage.
I had a feeling that Henderson was going win... I didn't know it was going to be an amazing knock out...

On to Anderson Silva for Piere that is going to be one hell of a fight....

Silva fight with Machida would be good...They both have similiar styles...

I would like to See Piere because they both are known as what we call "Champion" So it would be almost like an altimate championship were it's champ vs Champ...

I was a perfect 4-for-4 last night on my predictions and pretty much lost my voice at the bar. Great night overall. lol.

Man, that GSP-Alves fight was torturous to watch after awhile because I felt bad for Alves and how he had the will sucked out of him for 25 minutes. I didn't think I'd see another display of a man imposing his will on another man until the next fight night.

I spoke too soon.

Lesnar-Mir was about as one-sided as you could get. I never thought I'd see a man lose a fight before it even started, but that's pretty much what happened when Lesnar came out to Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and legit scared the **** outta me when he did that psycho roar/face he does. If the ref didn't stop that fight, Lesnar probably would've KILLED Mir.

Mir was beaten to a BLOODY PULP and he STILL wanted to go. Obviously, at that point, Lesnar had literally beaten the brains out of him. -_-
I think it's funny how they both tried to go the classy PR route earlier and said there was no disrespect or animosity between the two before the fight. Last night after the fight, even in the heat of the moment, proved otherwise.

Brock Lesnar as champion is great for UFC as a company, though. He's the guy everyone loves to hate, and he plays the villain perfectly. People will keep tuning in just to see Lesnar get his comeuppance, and when he finally does, there's still enough juice left for a rematch down the line. But as long as Brock keeps the title and dominates as champion for a few months, this is prime for Dana White to bring in Bobby Lashley (as speculated) and build him up to face Brock for the title.

Lesnar-Lashley will be EPIC if both men continue to step their game up. It'll be the first UFC Heavyweight title fight between two "true" heavyweights, and the WWE connection will only give them more promo fodder in building up the fight.

Lesnar-Lashley would be insane. I think Lashley would come out of that the victor. I see him as a more athletic Lesnar. A little more polished, a little less tenacious, but similar sort of packages physically. Plus Lashley is undefeated in MMA, maybe not UFC level, but being undefeated in a sport like MMA says something about you.
He's 4-0 and had his first four fights within 6 months of his debut. Not only does that speak to his conditioning (even if his opponents are overmatched), but also to his willingness to pay his dues and do what it takes to eventually compete with the best.

Not knocking Lesnar for his accomplishments, but he was only signed by UFC and immediately thrown in the main event mix because of his WWE notoriety, and his huge frame. Lashley, meanwhile, was a rising WWE star but left for personal reasons before he broke into the next level. Lashley is working hard to build his name on the MMA circuit, while Lesnar has had opportunities handed to him.

Lashley would be the ultimate face (good guy) and Lesnar would be the ultimate heel (bad guy) if the two were ever booked for the UFC Heavyweight title in the near-future.

While true, Lesnar did have the easy route to the championship, he has proven to be the real deal. The exact same thing happened to Kimbo except he was exposed. So many people are hating on Lesnar for the same reason they ridiculed him for, calling him "paper weight" because of his overwhelming strength.

Right now, Lasley is nobody. It would take Carwin or Fedor to beat him, and the bjj stuff is just ineffective.
I love Lesnar, but he needs to beat at least one more big name before the critics are silenced. A win over Fedor would definitely give him the credibility he's looking for.

Personally, I like his style, hes completely politically incorrect. If he doesn't like a ref, he'll say it freely with an array of colorful language. Then he'll say he's going to make someones face look like hamburger hill. Remember after the Mir fight when he flipped off the crowd, plugged his drink and said hes going home to do his wife.

Hes just hilarious, you gotta love the guy.
I like that he knows how to put on a show. Granted, he's somewhat of a ****-camera too (his locker room arrogance in WWE was well-documented, and he got into a lot of fights when he tried out for the Vikings), but I like his showmanship. As long as he's respectful when he needs to be (interacting with fans outside the octagon, acting as an ambassador for UFC and MMA, etc.), I have no problems with his political incorrectness.

I'll admit, though, if I wasn't familiar with Brock's WWE pedigree, I'd probably hate the guy like everyone else. But pro wrestling fans understand that this is Brock being "The Next Big Thing" and not Brock Lesnar, the individual. It also helps that I'm a mark (fan) for heels (bad guys). :D

Lesnar is not beating Fedor I would put him up against Arlofsky and see how he fairs with a fast power hitting dude...
Then put him up against Fedor if he wins....Fedor in my opinion is to insanely good....If you don't believe me get up on you tube and check out some of his previous fights....

Either way I think it takes a KO to beat him. Im convinced Brocks strengths on the mat are too good now and he is still improving. Not to mention he took point blanks knees to the face and it didnt do anything.

i think a well timed/well placed submission could do the trick.... or let him tire himself out... but you'd have to be pretty damn elusive then

think alot of brock's stamina comes from his wwe days he had to train in order to go 15-25 minutes with other wrestlers ....he will remain a beast in mma(he is their cash cow) and just think he's still learning

Brock is like Butterbean...He is big and slow watch Fedor know him out with a right cross....I think the cash cows are St Piere, Anderson Silva, Matt Hughs, Jackson and at one time Chuck Ladel...

you know I have to say this, I've been watching UFC reruns on FX, and it seems GSP kind of fights "dirty" it might not be intentional, but 2 or 3 examples that I saw where he kicked matt hughes in the crotch... twice... in the same fight, and he poked another fighter in the eye when the fighter was dominating GSP... afterwards that fighter didn't fight nearly as well, I haven't seen too many fights... in fact I think I've seen like 3 or 4 GSP fights.... not saying he does it on purpose, but thats just some incidents I picked up on, I know mistakes happen, but they seem to happen often with him
