They haven't confirmed yet if it was really his wife who did it. There's conflicting reports about it, but it's only been a few hours since the incident, so we won't know for sure until tonight or tomorrow at the earliest.

I have to say, I'm REALLY upset nfl.com doesn't have any story on this right now, not even a picture. I don't care if it's a holiday, a great man and retired QB was found dead. If Fox news breaks a story on a dead QB before the NFL breaks the news it's embarrassing and looks really bad on the part of the NFL.

Man, im wondering why all these deaths are happening in such a short period of time...MJ, Billy Mayes, and now McNair. RIP McNair...i hope Mason and Rolle can cope with this news, as they were teammates for awhile.

Like I said, they have the story, and a video of his legacy.

I wish you hadn't told me that. I watched the video of this retirement and got knots in my stomach. The entire last 2 minutes of his retirement speech was about how happy he is that he is going to be able to spend time with his family and say good night to his children while they're still awake... :(

Wow, watching that really upset me.

Even though he was only here for 2 seasons, I'll always be reminded of Steve McNair.

His Ravens jersey still sits in my closet prominently as the first jersey of a QB I've ever bought, and the first offensive player's jersey I've ever owned. My Ravens calendar from last year featured Air McNair on the front and in the month of December. My thoughts of 2006 as a calendar year will always go back to the acquisition of Steve McNair, as it was one of the biggest personal highlights of mine in what turned out to be one of the best years I've ever experienced.

Every time I turn on Madden, one of the more frequent TD celebrations is Steve's Omega Man/Air McNair celebration. Every time I think about Joe Flacco being drafted out of I-AA Delaware in the 1st round, I think of Steve McNair paving the way by being the first I-AA player drafted in the 1st round. I think back to my favorite comeback in Ravens history, and for a while, it was the one against the Titans in his return to Tennessee. I think of Vince Young, and I remember Steve McNair being his mentor. I think of Troy Smith, and I remember how he said he learned so much from Steve McNair.

My feelings have tempered a little bit and my breathing has gotten a little bit easier. But that doesn't make it any easier to deal with the weight in my heart right now, knowing that one of my heroes is gone. Steve McNair gave me inspiration during a year where I experienced many personal triumphs. Despite his short time in my life at a distance, he had such an enormous impact that will be forever linked to his memory.

I miss him already.

I have been fighting tears since I heard about it. I was a Steve McNair fan long before he was the Ravens QB.

I have no words to express the sorrow in my heart for the Ravens Titans and McNair families , its so sad to see all these fans and all the people who went to see him play, I know when he was in Baltimore he gave allot to the fans and community , everything he touched seem to get better , he left a mark on the nfl and the world , I can always remember his smile on the field , there is a time to morn and I know Derrick Mason must be shocked , it was sad to see Steve end his career here and he has now left all of us to play football in heaven now he can compete against Unitas and all the greats who have passed on. so lets all take a moment and reflect on what its like for us to appreciate each other as well as our players we follow , fair well Steve "Air" McNair we will mis you and you have made and indellable mark on the Baltimore fans in many forms from foe to favorite Number 9 , We will miss you

Ravens Fan to day my tears are purple and black

Stunned. absolutely disgusted. The world lost a beautiful soul today. My heart is broken for the children who's father wont be there to tuck them in at night.

My sig now has one more reason to keep me motivated as a person.
