Marshall Coming To Ravens?

42 posts in this topic

Marvison Harrison would be a decent pick up and I feel that he is too much like Mason, a possesion reciever. However, If we get to our first couple of preseason games, and Ozzie and Harbs don't like what they see from the recievers, I think it is very possible and probable we will bring him in.

Yeah it seems hes lost a step, but having 2 masons will be better than what we have now . I read somewhere that the Vike's were thinking of offering him a low-end 1 yr deal, so it made me think if the Ravens would be interested in something like that? I like the guy he seems like a quiet humble dude.

I'm not saying he's going to bring the whole team down, but he could hurt it. We dont need a drama queen in Baltimore. He can go to Dallas for that.
I agree that we don't need a drama Queen, but i get the feeling that a guy like Harbs would cut that snake off at the head. Much like he did last season with CMac. Also McGahee, when u shut down your #1 shutdown CB and u force your 40 million dollar RB to share carries with 2 others, it puts everyone else on notice imo.

We will do what is best for this team point blank period. So if Marshall did decide to become a Drama Queen he would find it hard to survive here, because that wouldn't be tolerated.

There was a little article about Foxworth a few days ago, and it basically stated how soft he played the first few days of OTA before other players informed him that he was now a Raven and he is expected to play like it. After which he turned it around and has been performing great in practice. Now i say that to say this, there is something to be said about playing like a Raven and the team taking on it's coaches personality.

So if the Ravens did decide to bring Marshall in, he would have to live up to a huge standard. Having guys like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Derrick Mason, Kelly Gregg and Trevor Pryce, will make it hard for one guy to bring the team down. IMO those guys would see to it that Marshall was taken care of one way or other. Especially considering that many of them are nearing the end of their career and would love to go out with a championship. This team came really close last season and now we finally have good offense, i don't think the vet on this team will allow Marshall to mess up this opportunity.

Look at the red Mason's been wearing. If we signed Harrison, it might be like having one Mason on the field.

I don't want 2 Masons'.Harrison to the Vikes?Sounds like they are really planning to get Favre and make a run for the Superbowl.

Its tempting to try for him, as he is a great player. Even if we do draft a good rookie WR in the 2010 draft; thats another season without a real top end wide receiver. I couldn't care less if we win, but all that really seperates us from Pittsburgh right now is a standout wide receiver... so in my opinion, no time like the present!

Not really per say. What separated us from Pitt was a quality quarterback. A great qb will make decent wr's look like elite players, same goes the other way. With Flacco maturing there's no reason we can't topple the Steelers as long as our defense keeps on pace. We got to the AFC championship with our starting wr having shoulder issues, our 3rd string wr on IR and our second string wr pretty much non-existent during games. With our current wr core healthy and having a proper bye-week there's no reason for us not to topple the Steelers.

But... it would be nice having a big time wideout.

Wasn't Ozzie going to draft a wide receiver in the receiver deep class of 2009?
no he said so himself and this is why HE WILL NOT PICKUP MARSHALL.... im paraphrasing but he said something to the effect of "people keep saying we have a problem at WR, I don't see it. We got to the AFCC with who we have. I think we are ready to play at every position." he didnt grab a reciever in the draft or Boldin and he wont grab marshall so dont get your hopes up.

Oh btw i think he would be a great addition as a player but not as a man in general... unless you want young players to go to the club with him so he can talk crap and get em shot(and this is in denver, not manny of you know the diffrence between Denver and B-More. Lets just say there is more trouble to be had out there)

I'm not a Marshall expert but it seems to me that he is not a bad guy he just reacts poorly to in certaint situations. I can take a guy like that because he can be mentored and taught to react better and also not to put himself in those situations. I think there is great leadership around here that could help him in the same way the pats have done for players. I'm not for him or against him because i would love to have him but he may interfere with player we already have getting deals.

I think the key statement was "all that really seperates us from Pittsburgh right now..."

That was a tongue in cheek comment. I was saying that everyone thought Ozzie would draft a wide receiver because there were oh soooo many great ones in 2009, but we know how that went.
My hopes are still up because I don't particularly want Brandon Marshall, and it doesn't look like the Ravens are really interested.

Ray was Aquitted not convicted , means he was found not guilty by lack of evidence and contrary supporting evidence stating from 3 officers that he was trying to pull the guys off from stabbing the guy get your facts straight read the info on the web you are no ravens fan point out cause you would know the facts

How about you get your facts straight. for one thing he did plea guilty to obstruction of justice, and testified against the other 2. He was not guilty found guilty of murder which I never said he was.

What is the statute of limitations on this subject? I expect this crap from other fan bases not this one. 10 years of not doing anything similar, heck Adam "Pacman" (not the Orioles outfielder) Jones can't go 10 weeks without getting into trouble, shouldn't that count for something?
