It amazing how hard people are on Willis, he may have been a back up in the Pro bowl but that doesnt take anything away from him 2007 he had a great year! One season he did bad and now he's injury prone?! After his bad injury in college nobody expected him to go first round but he did nobody expected him to recover but he did. '08 was a bad year which in the NFL it happens people get injured it's apart of the game. I know Willis will be back and have a monster year, If he could be the monster he was in '07 with that horrible offensive line imagine what he will do Healthy with the line he has this year. I know Willis personally and he has been working his butt off to be in shape this offseason and because of all the people that doubt him he's ready more than ever to show the people that doubt him just like he proved the people wrong that doubted his ability after he was injured the first time. Can't wait to see Willis in action '09. Stop hating on Willis

For the QB spot

I would think that before the season starts it will eventually end up with
1) Flacco, 2) Beck, & 3) Smith

It seems Beck is better suited to Cam's system, used to play for Cam in Miami, was a 2nd round pick, and put up better QB numbers than Smith in college

Well the way i see it Webb is the better returner and Carr is overpaid to be a backup returner and dime cornerback. Washington just depth for the minimum. And for your information we have 80 guys signed and lots of which where signed this year that wont make the cut. ;)

i just question that you have us releasing two guys that we just signed in free agency. we would have to pay them their guaranteed salaries this year without them even being in jersey once. that kinda thing just doesn't happen. my other issue is with all of these undrafted guys, i like all of them as well. they seem like promising prospects that could be the next bart scott, but that is what the practice squad is for. 7th rounders don't even usually make our squad, let alone four guys that weren't drafted.i love ellerbe, gerard, riley, and a few others but i can not justify having them on the squad over carr, washington, or even frank walker. we put them on the PS for a year and then bring them up, but i dont see all of them making the final cut in their first go-around.

Smith had way better stats unless you just want to compare their senior season (pretty similar). But there's one big difference: Smith put up those numbers at the highest level possible (Ohio St.). Beck played at Brigham Young.

Bummer, i liked the guy. Great guy, good blocker. Hopefully he'll be back at some point.

Horrible injury. It is really sad. He (like Musa Smith) had so much talent only to get knocked out of the game early due to a nasty injury.

We did this the past two years (2007 Thread , 2008 Thread) so let's make it three in a row now. I agree. In 2008, Willis suffered a number of injuries. Some of them were really freak accidents that rarely happen. If he can stay healthy this year(which he should with Rice taking away catches), he could have a very productive season. I've said it before but he's great pass blocker, serviceable out of the backfield and a good slasher.

Marshal Yanda & Ed Reed activated from PUP again. I thought Yanda would miss the entire season or at least the first 6-8 weeks so this is pretty surprising. But great to hear obviously. Not sure what his role is gonna be, though. RT is not an option anymore, neither is Center or LG. He'll have to battle Chester. Sucks that we can't have them both on the field anymore but that's how good our O-Line will be this season. No weak links anymore.

dont think Brendan will make the team, he does little on the field as a LB and we already got some stand out ST. Also not sure where Kruger goes on depth chart because he was playing both OLB and DE.

Also the DL is hard to order too because everyone was moving around on different plays.

Figurs might make it over Harper b/c of his draft status and the fact that we can stash Harper on our practice squad. If we cut Figurs he's gone.

Harper might not make it anyway now that Mason is back.

Agreed, signings and releases aren't uncommon in the NFL. It would happen to players like Drew Bennett not McGahee because of penalty risk. McGahee will start opening day, as he is off PUP. I'm certain McClain will get majority snaps at FB with a healthy McGahee and Rice. Last year McClain was to only Back to remain healthy the whole season.
