We did this the past two years (2007 Thread , 2008 Thread) so let's make it three in a row now. This should help people to keep an eye on our roster and to sort of see what the depth chart is gonna look like.

Not sure I understand the "Weak Linebacker" being Ray Lewis. Can you explain that?
hes the weak side linebacker. meaning he plays on the side that drops into coverage most times. it has nothing to do with Ray being "weak" if thats what you are thinking.

but isn't Ray a Mike?

The weak side is the side that has less protection. The strong side is the opposite, so they usually have a TE.

He sure is, I'm not sure why He put him as the "will" or weakside backer. That was Scott's job.

Take Ngata out as NT and put him back in his regular place of RDE and I agree with pretty much everything else. I was going to say McClain as the second string Strong side backer but it seems he might be playing a little of everything. AD 2.0 anybody? (we can only hope)

what does PUP stand for? and I believe Mattison switched to offensive guard
It stands for Physically unable to perform

Man we have great cornerback depth.

I hope Foxworth can play up to his contract.

I have a hard time believing Cedric Peerman won't make the team.. Cam has already said publicly that Le'Ron McClain is moving back to FB. With him at FB, Jason Cook becomes expendable, opening a hole for another RB (Cedric Peerman.)

na i think we run two fullbacks.. it matters how much we give leron the ball this year.. if we run 3 rb's, leron will never touch except in occasional fb dives... but if we carry mcgahee and rice and then cook and mcclain, we could still do a little 3 headed monster action

If we wanted two FB's we would have resigned Lorenzo Neal. McClain is going to get carries but not 900+ yards worth.

I would have Davon Drew over Quinn Sypniewski as it's unlikely Heap or Smith will make it through the entire season.

Kelly Gregg to start at NT with Bannan as backup/rotation.

Rolle as nickle, simply because he's always fighting injuries.

I see Peerman making the cut over Cook (with McClain lead blocker)

OT: Any PUP projections for Yanda?

solid overall, i have a few problems
I donth think Figurs makes it over a guy like Harper somehow
Even if it means non of them make it but davon drew will be on the roster, I expect Quinn to start on PUP so add Drew and/or Jones there

Very pleased Lamar Divens is on your team, i truly think he is a monster and will be our starting NT next year, the guy is a monster that everyone here doesnt realise

I think that they might cut Ayanbadejo to keep Ellerbee, Nakamura is a great ST guy and could take over as captain as Ayanbadejo salary is ridiculous for a ST player. I hope this happens although im worried it wont

I would rather have Martin over Walker because Martin is a better talent and way less money

OVerall, i agree with a lot. I hope to see a guy like Van de Steeg make the team but whatever lol, Good overall

i agree with you for the most part, but i think 3 RBs will be on the 53 man roster
Mcgahee, rice, parmele, and peerman will all be on the roster

Peerman will be a special teams virtuoso!

Cam's going to have some pretty nice tricks up his sleeve.

Don't forget about LeRon as well.

you are so correct.

Cook is in the practice squad kitchen

LeRonald McDonald will be serving it up ISOLATION style on MLB's

4RB's 1 FB........that's what will happen.

This was very well put together ,but the starting corners issue is still up in the air.

Yes David Hale was moved to center, and why did I get the notion K.J. was a safety?

I think if you would have waited until at least training camp it would of been much better and we wouldn't have these little discrepancies.

someone said that Cam said Leron is going back to Fullback, do you have a link? Last time I checked he was saying it was still a 3 headed monster between Willis, Ray, and Le Ron (as Mason calls him)

Strong Inside LB is what Bart Scott played last year. Usually that's a guy who takes on blockers to make sure the Weak Inside LB is kept clean so he can make the tackles, run around and not have to worry about blockers. Patrick Willis plays the same position (WILB). Vilma played it for the Jets a few years ago.

Take out Lamar Divens and Put Prescott in a roster spot and I agree.
Burgess is a wild card i guess. He could very well make it. But we drafted Phillips so i don't really know. Maybe their plan is to replace Burgess with Phillips.

I think we'll take 5 running backs, I don't think they'll cut Peerman.

I also think Erbelle will make it.

I think we'll drop Brandon McKinney and maybe Figurs to make way for them.

53 roster spots is clearly not enough for all our talent though... lol.

Wasn't David Hale moved to Center?
That's, i edited it. I didn't know about that. He might back up at C and RG until Yanda comes back. Or maybe Cousins will be the backup at both Guard spots, not sure if he's good enough yet.

I also moved McClain to RB. Only reason i kept him at FB is because i'm not sure FB Cook is gonna make the team. If he doesn't it would look like we don't have a FB.

Also moved CB Gerard to safety, doesn't look like he has the speed (4.5) to play CB and he played safety during the OTA's as well.

I think Peerman goes to the practice squad. There's nothing he can bring us on the field that Rice/McGahee/McClain can't do so it's gonna be hard for him to make it. If he does then we'll have to cut somebody else and that's tough right now as you can see. :D

As for McKinney i think he signed a 3 year deal a couple months ago. He's pretty much a lock right now.

I think what he gives us is a prototypical back. We have Rice the Scatback, McClain the Bulldozer and McGahee who's a big back and has some questions about his durability and work ethic. Plus he's probably only a year or so from his RB breakdown (I think he'll have it earlier than most thanks to that horrific injury he had early in his career and his supposedly lax outlook towards conditioning).
Also Peerman figures to be the best of the bunch on special teams.
