The New Layout

i know that you are still working on the lay out of the site but since this is the feedback forum i figured i would voice some changes that might help. I personally perfer the darker layouts because they are easier to read for me because for some reason the layout just seems to run together. i was hoping that you would bring back the ravens symbol for the thread part as well it just made the site feel more like our home. besides just those little tweaks i really enjoy the new layout.

trying to be positive about new layout (it's very hard). along with a darker or more color contrast idea, why is this layout so BIG? Everything has way too much space between items. seems half my screen is wasted. makes it annoying to read imo

i actually dont understand why everything is so spaced out, i dont mind the change to white and stuff, in fact it looks cleaner, but i loved the old one and just hate how this is so spaced out, i wiwsh it was slightly more condensed

This one I can actually answer. Make sure you're positioned on "Forums" then click on "View New Content" in the upper-right part of your screen. The first time you do that, you might get thousands of hits, but just go to the bottom and mark all forums "read" and you'll be good going forward.

i dont mind the new layout because i have a wide screen monitor and i actually goes good with it. i was just wanting to know if maybe in the future those additions might be made. i would love this site no matter what cuz its home.

I agree with the fact that everything is too spaced out......and i enjoyed the darker colors better too

Honestly, I prefer the old layout a lot more than the new one. Too much white, light greys. Hard to distinguish things.

i dont know if its just me getting use to the board but the rep the post spot gets in the way. i know it only cuts off part of the post but its still annoying when your trying to read someone's reply and its cut off by that thing. does anyone know how to change that?

Do they plan on fixing the "my information" section of the profile pages?

Each "detail" is supposed to have its own line but its all jumbled up into like the first 2 or 3. See:

Neeps they are working on the My Profile part, I do know that. Some of the stuff in the profiles is not appropriate to show up in every post, Like "crackmore" or "The city that bleeds" but is ok hidden.

mod2, do you know if they're doing anything about the reputation points? i like the idea behind it, but like i've said before, i dont think its right that you can vote for yourself..

anyway, i love the new layout. it took some time to get used to, but after a few weeks its really grown on me.. great job admins/mods.. the ravens forum is still the best in the business!!

[/quote]I like the idea behind them, but I think they're particularly ineffective if you're allowed to vote for yourself.

What I'd really like to see is some sort of chat functionality...maybe member-to-member IM? I know it's almost the same as the PM system, but the instant one-to-one contact would be pretty big. I know a large-scale chat room would be a problem due to the potential for huge Code of Conduct violations, but if it's one-to-one interaction and private (with the profanity filter, of course), then I don't really see the harm.

It's a pretty big upgrade, but it'd probably be huge for user traffic and whatnot.

I have the same problem and only on my work computer, but both screens are the same size, so it's probably something in the settings.

I also agree that if you keep the reputation point system that you shouldn't be allowed to give yourself points - although I don't really see any 'abuse' from what I can tell.

Don't know if this is intentional or not. All I can tell you is that it is happening to me, too, and it's been reported. It might not be one of the highest priorities to fix.
