Fight Night Round 4!

6 posts in this topic

I cannot wait to get this game!! 2 and 3 were so good and im sure this will be 10x better!!

and I think Ali would beat Mike Tyson in their respective primes. KO in 8 rounds. Although its hard to imagine someone going 8 rounds with Tyson in his prime, I thinnk Ali could do it. The Ali of the 60s would be too fast for Iron Mike and plus Ali could take a punch. (see 1974 Rumble in the Jungle against George Foreman and 1975 Thrilla in Manila against Joe Frazier.) Tyson would probably punch himself out.

Plus I think Ali would have Tyson mind F%@$ed before the fight even started.

Yea but that could go both ways because I'm sure Tyson was VERY intimidating when he was on his great run in the late 80s. He was such a monster. They showed Mike Tysons greatest hits on ESPN classic yesterday and man that is great stuff.

Tyson over Ali, the world and media is pretty much pro-Ali and anti-Tyson people makes judgements basedoff that. Tyson was never a smart man and was demonized for his behaviour but I think his boxing ability in his prime speaks for itself. Physically there has never been a more dominant package of speed, power and defense. His questionable sanity, and later on his lack of confidence and willpower let him down.

Ali was very smart and fast but personally I think he was slightly overrated, he could beat Tyson with mindgames just not ability.

Thats what made Ali beyond the elite boxer, the ability to have an opponent distracted and swimming in their domes. The only guy that I can think of off the top of my head that never let Ali's mouth affect his performance in the ring was Frazier. In my mind Frazier was the Tyson of Ali's era, short compact and explosive with a devastating left. Frazier may have worn more punches than Tyson but if you watch some of Tysons full fights he wears alot of shots too looking for his 1 opening. Tyson was the master of getting one shot to knock a guy out and making the guy not remember his name.

I agree with everything you said!!

And in response about the game, I may rent it because I find the Fight Night games are the type that you get bored of pretty quickly. I can see me playing it for a week and then never again! I've played the demo and even got bored of that.
