Anybody Here Familiar With Creatine?

30 posts in this topic

I just finished my freshmen year in high school. Im pretty lanky at about 5'10" 135 pounds. I max out at bench press at about 135 pounds. Im hopin for those numbers to rise significantly very soon. I play baseball. And I can absolutely destroy a baseball. I can clear 330 foot fences if i get a hold of a pitch. Many people would say thats pretty good for somebody that weighs 135 pounds. So I when I see huge guys on my teams and on other teams I always think to myself jeez I cant imagine what I would do to a baseball if i was as big as that guy. So now, im tryin hard to put on weight. Ive always eaten a lot but I have a high metabolism so i never gain the weight that I want to. So ive turned to creatine. Its a powder that you mix with water and drink 2 times a day and its supposed to help you gain weight and muscle. Anybody familiar with it or used it before?

My friend was also lean, he started hitting it and the weights regularly, and bulked up a lot. He went from about 5'10" and prob like 165 pounds to about 6'1" (we're 20 now so natural height growth obviously) and about 200 pounds I would say. So based on what I've seen it seems to work!

Yeah I take it 1 hour prior to a workout and then straight after!! It does help but you need to put the work in at the gym to see results.
It basically helps increase your pump during a workout, hydrates your muscles giving more stamina during a workout and it also causes your body to hold more water so you would gain a little weight just based on that alone.

I recommend getting some sort of Whey Protein as well to make sure your body is getting enough protein to pack on the muscle! ;)

I use Optimium 100% Whey which also includes Glutamine and BCAAs.

www.bodybuilding.com and check out the product section...should answer all your questions, for me personally i just take N.O. shotgun v.2 prior to every workout, and then afterwards either drink EAS myoplex shakes or eat peanut butter with a glass of skim milk.... its packed with protein, which is extremely vital when trying to build muscle. Your muscles need the protein because during your workout session, you tear your muscles on purpose, so then your body needs the protein because it binds with the muscles and causes them to recover quicker and get bigger

But first things first..... you want to get bigger, you MUST eat, its just common sense, you eat and workout, the end result is you seeing an increase in size. and by that i mean... eat right, not junk food.

My Supplements i take

1. N.O. Shotgun v.2
2. EAS myoplex shakes (chocolate or vanilla doesnt matter)

My best guy friend has been drinking creatine for years (he even takes it to the beach with us every year when we go) and swears by it...but when he takes a hiatus from working out, it seems the weight that he has put on turns to fat instead of muscle pretty quickly. but he swears by drinking it.

That would just be due to the fact he's not working out and maybe not eating strict during that period, not because of the creatine.

That's good, just make sure your eating enough like Raven07 said! You should be consuming at least a gram of lean protein per lb of bodyweight so aim for at least 135 grams of protein a day. Also some good complex carbs, fibre and plenty of fruit and veg and your good. ;)

thats good, just remember to gain the right way....make it 7 pounds of muscle, not 7 pounds of fat

ive been lifting weights for about 6 years or so im 20 now and i started when i was 14, was around 134 lbs when i started and have seen a significant increase in strength and overall look, i tried doing it naturally and i maxed out my bodys potential that way, so now im using the N.O. shotgun v.2 and EAS myoplex to add to what nature gave me

stats right now

Height: 5'6"
Weight:155 currently
Bench: regularly 260, i know i can go higher
Max Bench:300 lbs
Curling: 56.7 lbs on each arm
Waist Size: 28-29 (my mom has a extremely hard time finding pants that are in my size believe me lol)
Chest Size: Around 47 inches

its a very time consuming deal to get dedicated to but if you have the right mindset to get your body right, hey the skys the limit for you, this is my 6th year in working out and i can say this..... building muscle and the body YOU want, takes a lot of time and dedication to what your focused on, its not something you get over night, and you most definately WILL feel your body hurting after the workouts, in the begining, but thats one of the rewards of it all.... the pain lets you know its working so keep at it, fight through the pain...none of this "i hurt today because of yesterday im not working out today" type stuff...no get in there and workout, just dont work the same muscle group day after day after day (working the different groups of muscle allows the muscles in other areas to heal, while your working the others)..... mix it up every once in a while... its called muscle confusion..your body adapts to what your doing (hince the pain), its like a learning machine, so you MUST, i repeat..you MUST always be one step ahead of your body and keep shocking it with different workouts and things, to keep your progress showing, if you keep doing the same things time and time again, month after month after month....you wont see any gains, so MIX UP YOUR Routine it takes time and i cannot stress that enough.... if your willing to put your body through the works.... the reward is a feeling thats un-imaginable to how good you feel about yourself.

thats one of the reasons why im not on here as much as i used to. plain and simple, you cant get in shape just sitting in front of a computer typing, so get off your butt.

Spoken well. Gaining 7 pounds in a few days isn't something to be proud of, because most likely it's water weight and fat.

Jan. 1 I made the decision to get back in to shape. I'm 6'2", went from 236 lbs to 191 lbs, do 25 minute HIIT sessions three times a week and go to the gym for weight training between HIIT days. My bmi went from roughly 31 to just over 21.

What I take/eat...

Breakfast:
ON protein shake in the morning
2 hardboiled eggs
1 banana

Snack:
Piece of fruit

Lunch:
Green salad with grilled chicken and lite ranch dressing

Snack:
Brown rice and maybe a yogurt (greek yogurt), ON protein shake

Dinner:
Some sort of meat/fish, small amount of brown rice, veggies

Snack:
Some complex carbs or something to burn while I sleep.

For HIIT I do 20-25 minutes cardio, usually sprint/jog- on HIIT days I go for a quick jog in the morning and HIIT at night about an hour and a half after dinner.

OH... and I drink probably a gallon and a half to two gallons of water a day.

I doubt it's fat because he sounds like a hard gainer, but it's definitely not muscle in that period of time either!

I'd say it's water retention from the creatine but that's normal when you first start taking it.

New max on bench press is 150 pounds. But my dad is no longer buying creatine. He talked to my baseball coach and he said that they still dont know what it can do to your body which i dont understand because its approved by the FDA or whatever its called.

Oh and this kid who like me is going into tenth grade was in the weightroom with me and he is an absolute monster. He benches over 300 pounds and today he squated 420 pounds which is 4 45 pound weight plates and then some. Amazing. He just might play for the Ravens someday. He's a defensive end and he gonna get like 25 sacks this season.

What are you doing max benching everyday? You should only train your chest once a week for mass. It will take time no need to max out every day or two.

I'm half Samoan, I tried creatine a few years ago and went from 275lb (6'5") to 330lb in three months. I went from benching 225lb 3X12 reps to 370lb 3X12 reps. The problem is the size and strength you get with creatine comes with a downside, your quick twitch fibres, speed, acceleration and agility can drop dramatically, even if you train with plyometrics.

Creatine basically adds water to your muscles, this gives you more low density weight, and readily available energy stores.

Make sure your body has the frame to fill out as well, too much muscle on a small frame will give you joint and ligament problems also your ability to retain quick twitch ability (like hitting a baseball) will be compromised if you go too far out of your natural weight range.

For some reason when i was in high school, i heard that creatine was bad for you. I played football and never used it, was benching 265 and squating 400, not bad for a DE. My Bench could of been better <_<

Repping 145 pounds more than your current bench in 3 months naturally and only taking creatine is the stupidest post I have read on this forum.

Not to mention 55 pounds of body weight added? What are you talking about? These are the kinds of gains that anadrol, stacked with test and the right genetics produce. Most users dont get these kind of gains from their best cycles, but you got them from CREATINE. Ha ha Ha.

Natural is the real deal imo, try to eat in a different way, lots of eggs, starchy food, lots of vegetables, white meat, fish... And work out ! Don't take drink with gaz like coke, sprite... Tea is perfect !!!

Results will come soon, but if u still want to take creatine, then u'll have to DRINK A LOT OF WATER holmes, coz u'll have to wash ur kidneys, we all know what represent a spoon of creatine! plus don't take that at any hours, respect very carefully what's written on the box (even if i know u will) !

the thing with creatine is that quick muscles grow without the corresponding strengthening of tendons and ligaments which cause injury and misery !

of course small doses won't hurt, but when u start takin it, the dose become bigger and bigger since u do a cure, but just be careful with what you take man !

check this out stemulite is the enzyme http://www.articleclick.com/Article/How-Stemulite-Helps-Men-Increase-Muscle-Size-and-Strength/1010647

it works by using stem cells in your bone marrow to reduce acid and rebuild muscle rapidly by using the stem cells to increase healing ability of the muscle

Dude you obviously don't get it I'm half Samoan, I'm an easy gainer and I didn't expect those results myself, it actually set me back a lot. I've cut as low as 255lb which felt too light and as high as 330lb which was too heavy, naturally I'm about 290lb. I'd prefer not to show pictures but I really don't like being called a liar.

The point I was getting across is you need to make sure you don't lose quickness by making sure your frame can take extra weight. Creatine works incredibly well but you need to train properly with it.

what i did was max out my bodies potential naturally, and then after that (which is quite recent) i started drinking the Myoplex shakes along with taking the N.O. Shotgun V.2

You just don't get "ripped" overnight, its a painstaking process, and in which is basically life changing because you change your lifestyle to be all-around.. Healthier.

No one on this Earth can get "ripped" with 8 pack abs or whatever you define as being "ripped" or "jacked" with HUGE arms and definition beyond normal..... your body just cant compensate for that much going on and therefore it cant and it will not produce enough proteins and everything your body needs in order to get that big or "Ripped".

You look around at all the people that are doing it naturally (which i prefer) you will never see those guys as jacked as those people whom are taking this and that, they just take everything as it comes and take what god and their bodies give them in return.

Then you look at the Steriod users and those other people whom are taking a multitude of things. You look at them and it just LOOKS unhealthy, i guarentee every guy here that wants to get big, Girls dont dig overly huge muscles and what not, they just like their guy to be "fit". Not to mention the health effects that come after you've done/taken those types of things (i.e. Once you take steriods, doesnt matter if it was just once or not, the damage has been done and is there forever.)

So i encourage All people on here whom are thinking of working out and getting into shape, dont over do it and start taking this and that because what your really doing is hurting yourself, not helping it.
