Santonio Holmes is HUGE compared to our receivers. AND compared to our DBs. He goes up and makes plays in the air. And then he is too big for anyone to tackle. Even Ed Reed bounced off of him. You can list statistics you found on some website, but the proof is on the field. You saw how he abused us. If you think Foxworth and Carr are going to solve that problem... enjoy the offseason while you can because come November... you're going to be feeling very sick.

The only time I remember Santonio abusing us was when Big Jen had a week and a half to survey the field.. It all starts with the pass rush.

Big BEN  Does that to every team though.....he is a master of extending the play

your pass rush is good IMO

I think we are getting really close to the steelers. Why? 2 words: Joe Flacco. As long as we have him we will be competitive every year I feel. He really reminds me of Tom Brady the way he carries himself on the field. And if we end up getting Brandon Marshall(fingers crossed) then we could be Super Bowl bound this year.

The fact of the matter is that he is 5'10! ALL of our starting DBs are taller than him, I don't know why you think he is so large (camera angle?). There's no doubt he is an explosive player and he has had some good games against us. But how about before you dismiss Foxworth, you see what he can do on the field.
Second. ;)

Seriously, I have all the confidence in the world with regards to the Steelers taking the AFCN. However, All 3 games last year were close.
Now, neither the Browns or the Bengals have shown squat as far as improvement.

The AFCN is Pittsburgh and Baltimore.
sadly, i agree.. you cant deny they're the champs, and havent really lost any key players, so they're the team to beat.. by no means am i saying we cant beat them, because as warden respectfully said, all three games were close, and i think we're a more well-rounded team this year

3. bengals (easily)
4. browns (no brainer)

in 2006 we had 60 sacks. in 2008 we had 35 sacks. We are good but, its not what it used to be and not where we want it to be

And just for the record our defense is ranked 7th in the league according to nfl.com. And if you see another link on there it talks about the loses of Scott, Rex Ryan, Leonhard, Chris McAlister, and my favorite Corey Ivy affecting our team.

Really? He was your favorite?

Just because someone decides in June that our Defense is the 7th best in the league has absolutely no standing on what it actually will be. We all know Ray Lewis has effectively been the DC for quite some time now, and he is right where he's always been.

na, that was sarcasm. Just like this is. How will we ever replace his 7.5 sacks over 3 years?! How could we ever find someone that can get like 2 sacks a year?!

Hahaha, okay, I was about to say..
I think Rex Ryan just sent him on blitzes so he didn't have to sit through the agony of watching Ivy try to cover someone.

Hahahahaha...so sadly true. leave it to espn or nfl network to use the loss of Ivy as a reason why our defense won't be as good lmao. Don't worry about this article people right there is where this writer loses all merit. The truth is that no matter how good the Ravens do, these people probably haven't even watched a Ravens game except for highlights or prime time games. Most of the time they are just reading a stat sheet, saw that Ivy (sadly) HAS started games for us at CB then it snowballs from there, what they don't realize is that this defense has more depth coming into this season than it has had in many years. these kinds of things are to be expected even if we won the superbowl.

Isn't the Jets defense ranked higher than ours heading into the season? Also, if Rex can utilise that freak of an athlete Vhernon Gholston, they would be a pretty explosive defense.

I will echo what most others have said in this thread.

1. Pittsburgh
2. Baltimore
3. Cincinnati
4. Cleveland

Pittsburgh won all three games against the Ravens last year while winning the Super Bowl. Tough to say they aren't the best in the division. Cinci and Cleveland are both hopeless. Cinci is slightly less hopeless.

The Ravens had quite a bit of turnover this year. You can argue that some/all might be improvements with the power of homer goggles. But the fact remains, there are many players who have yet to perform in any role with this team that will have to perform and that is always a gamble.

The Steelers on the other hand return almost the same team. They lost Nate Washington and Bryant McFadden. That's a decent third WR and a decent part time starter at CB. Limas Sweed might be better than Washington and William Gay should take McFadden's place. They return the entire starting O-line that was the weak spot on last years team. Ask the Patriots how well a less than Pro Bowl caliber O-line can be when given time to gel and consistency over a period of time.

If the Ravens new personnel come in and perform well then the Steelers and Ravens should be in a pretty good battle for the division crown. It is however not a stretch to think the Steelers might be better than last year while the Ravens might have a small drop off. Is it September yet?!? Offseason sucks!

Gholston is an athlete but he hasn't done anything. I saw on espn they compared Suggs and Gholston's numbers and it was really sad

Yeah, Gholston's like Kruger, but stronger and faster. They come hard at the QB, but don't know how to use their hands and hips to get past Offensive Tackles. You've got to keep a guy constantly guessing whether you're going to do a wide outside rush or swim/spin back inside, or bullrush straight at them. If they can read you and commit inside or outside, you won't get past them.

Yeah I know he hasn't, hence my comment. Lol, what an awful comparison... Suggs has PROVEN himself!
I think it ranks like this

STEELERS
RAVENS
BENGALS
BROWNS

but the top two could easily switch this year

i think the steelers will take the division because of two games

us vs dolphins and you vs colts

i think we win our game.......but i dont think you guys will beat the colts
I agree and will add on the other game that we have different as a win for the Steelers and a possible loss for the Ravens. I think the Ravens CAN beat the Colts and the Pats, but I don't know if they WILL. History isn't in our favor. And the two different teams that the Steelers play are more easily beatable teams. IMO.

To me, Flacco is still an unknown quantity. He certainly has the potential to do great things for us, but we have yet to see if that will happen, or if it will happen for the long term.

The last time I checked S. Holmes is 5-11 192lbs which is not even close to being hugh for a WR.

Bengals>Steelers>Ravens>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Browns

I expect this to change (maybe a couple of times)before the end of the season, and I do not expect the Bengals to win the division.

But, the NFL is a week-to-week league, and this week The Bengals are one of its top seven teams.

Who could have guessed it?

Bengals will slip, as they so often do. But, the Steelers will find a way to claim yet another AFCN Championship. They had a rocky start, but ultimately have a more veteran and complete team, not only in the division, but in the NFL as a whole.

Ravens will keep pace, as they often do, but will again be a Wild Card.

And in the other North, Cutler will choke away a playoff shot again, and the Vikings will take that division because really, who's more veteran than their quaterback. The Patriots will go to the Super Bowl because nothing ever changes in the NFL. I don't know why I still tune in.
