Suggs Speaks Tonight?

36 posts in this topic

According to MASN Sports, Terrell Suggs is slated to appear on NFL Total Access tonight (NFL Network, 7pm) as an in-studio guest analyst. After months of silence surrounding his contract dispute, it'll be interesting to see what Suggs will say on the matter, as we all know that'll be the first question asked of him.

Suggs has displayed the utmost professionalism throughout this entire situation, and I honestly wouldn't fault him if he spoke his mind tonight.

Nah i dont think he will speak his mind b/c i dont think he wants to give the wrong message out to anybody, especially ESPN, where people make a living of putting words in people's mouths.

I dont know how much more the Ravens can do ? Everyone wants Ozzie to offer Suggs more and get a #1 receiver. All sounds good except for that sticky cap that holds us back. If Suggs does not want to agree to the Franchise tag offer then let his unemployed butt walk. Lets see if he has the same success anywhere else. No ngata to take up 2 guys, Kelly Gregg to take up 2 guys. Thats why he is successfull. We can develope someone else to do exactly what he does and who wants to play.

What is Suggs getting bashed for all of a sudden? The guy played with one arm and dominated in the CCG last season against the Steelers.

And of course he's not working out with us because he's not under contract. If he gets hurt he's gonna lose millions of dollars. And the fact that he hasn't signed the tender yet is a good thing, that means that they might get this long term deal thing done in the next few weeks hopefully, before training camp starts. If they don't then he'll sign the tender and make over 10 mil. for this season, which would hurt us big time this season. Forget about adding a guy like Marshall/Boldin if that happens. This wouldn't be great news to Gaither either.

It was the same thing last year with people who don't understand his value or how the franchise tag works.

Hasn't he been trying to?

*Sigh* I wish I had Fios or Comcast or DTV; I miss everything.

(And thank you for reminding me, unfortunately, of how bad the Suggs issue was last offseason...and how everyone quickly forgot all about that this past season when he was making plays.)

Too true. The season can't come fast enough.

You are right there. I have been dying for the season to start. I was hoping the Orioles would be a bit closer in the competition so i would be occupied but not everything goes as planned. Come on July.

I beg to differ, its not like last year at all. Last offseason, he spent a good 3 months of time that he could have been using to get a long term deal done, argueing about what position he played.

Oh god. The NFL is a business, he was trying to get his dues and he did. Honestly, I see the same chatter now that I saw last offseason. People claiming that Suggs is being selfish, he is easily replaceable, he isn't a "team-player" because he hasn't showed up to the workouts, he is not worth the money, etc.

I know Sizzle wants to be a Raven! I have faith it'll get done, both sides need to be resonable.

Suggs was not on NFLTA! Suggs is a great player but he did say he was willing to give a home town discount but now he is not willing to sign for what we have offered him. I think Sizzle is waiting to hit the free agent market. If and when he does, he is going to get a BIG PAY DAY! :o

Well, at least I know I didn't miss anything when I went to put my laundry in the dryer... -_-

(Crap, now this is just another Suggs thread, instead of a Suggs-on-NFLTA thread)

But that was a statement he made in order to keep all 3 linebackers together. Shortly after Suggs said that Ray basically told him that he's on his own, and that Ray doesn't play less so he's not gonna take less money. So that home town discount thing was already done with right there, Ray wasn't willing to do it. And then Bart Scott did the same thing, went on to sign a huge deal with the Jets instead of re-signing with us for less money. Suggs is not gonna take less money now, after those other two guys told him that in this business everyone's on their own when it comes to money.

I still think we can save money v.s. paying him the Franchise tag money, or does he want that to be his pay annually? If that's the case, I'd have to pass. I love Sizzle though!

If he is waiting for a pay day like albert received from the redskins he will be waiting a long time. I personally hope he does go. There is no room for selfish on a team. Why would we pay him all of what we have left and tell the team he is the team instead of saving to help improve in other areas if and when the chance becomes available. I do not think if we lose him we will be as bad off as others would have you believe. We will still have a very good defense.

The only team I could see paying Suggs mad $$$ are the Panthers,I'm pretty sure they won't be keeping Peppers after this eyar so adding Suggs would be just as good.

does anyone think that if Terrell Suggs test FA we might get him for cheaper

Wth guys like Merriman, Ware an Peppers hitting FA Suggs might not get the attention that they will so he might resign with us for cheaper than we have to if we sign him now. Just an idea??

Agreed, just like Ray he will find out that teams will bluff to get players out in FA and he will end upwalking back with his tail inbetween his legs.

I doubt that. If that were true then that is what would have happened (ie Ray Lewis) but T. Sizzle is an elite young player whom most teams would gladly pick up.

i did say it was just an idea. But when there are younger or better players like Ware, Merriman and peppers suggs might get left under the rug. i hope he does so we can get him cheaper. i dont want to coomit more than 35 mil to him in guarantees

That's all speculation. All of it. You don't know that Suggs is looking for a $100 million contract.
