"It's going to be a great year; we're going to the playoffs," Ochocinco guaranteed during Thursday's opening of mandatory minicamp. "We're going ... We're making progress. I mean, I see it, and I can come out on a limb and say what we're going to do." -- OchoIdiot

"I got to go back to having fun, and I'm going to have fun this year," Ochocinco promised.

Haha well i must say, i look forward to his antics. (no sarcasm)

But he is dillusional if he thinks they are getting to the playoffs, over us, and the Steelers.

Should the Steelers, Ravens and even the Browns be moved to another division, then I'd say they have a shot....with the AFCN all to themselves that is.

Bengals recent history...

2000 - 4-12 missed playoffs

2001 - 6-10 missed playoffs

2002 - 2-14-0 missed playoffs

2003 - 8-8 missed playoffs

2004 - 8-8 missed playoffs

2005 - 11-5 lost in wildcard

2006 - 8-8 missed playoffs

2007 - 7-9 missed playoffs

2008 - 4-11-1 missed playoffs

2000-2008 record - 58-85-1

Carson took over in 2004, and has made the playoffs ONCE since he's been with the organization.

Bengals make the playoffs in 2009 season? Sure... haha.

Side note, Bengals haven't won a playoff game since 1988.

lol wow Chad Johnson. I dont think he really meant that, but he would like that to happen. I moreso think that he's just trying to keep the offseason from being dead.

(on a side note, this is my 3000th post! wohoo! :D)

Is it a coincidence that theres an "85" in the record? :P

You know if ti is such a problem I think sooner or later its going to turn into a similar situation in Dever. Because either the QB will want to be traded or the WR will be traded. IMO Bengals should of drafted Crabtree....

Theres a chance they might make the playoffs cause us or the steelers might have a bad season you never know . Any thing could happen but i just dont see it but i think they definatly will be better than last year and at least compete vs us and the steelers.

They look better than the Browns on paper but Palmers arm is dodgy, apparently hes lost some zip and was given advice to have it reconstructed, he passed and is having trouble with arm strength and throwing reps.

Palmer also has nobody willing to go over the middle and two speed WRs who are in their 30s.

It usually comes down to the talent on the roster.

The Ravens & the Steelers have more talent than Cincy, period.

Our second teams could combine and be better than their first team.

True that... it comes down, just as much, to stability and talent in the Front Office. Look at the Lions and Cardinals, who have had very high draft picks for years, and still can only rarely field a .500 team. Other teams, like the Ravens, Patriots, Steelers & Colts are always competitive, even as players come and go. It's the FO.

Having said that, the 53 man roster of the Ravens & Steelers has more talent than that of the Bengals (or Browns). That's why they finished with 4 wins each, and Balt/Pitt played in the Championship Game.

And the Cowboys... lots of roster talent, but their front office - along with Jerry Jones - are lost sometimes. Trading a 1st and a 3rd for Roy Williams and his 36 receptions last year... :P

Hell aim for the stars you might hit the Moon! In the Bengal's history there is more talk of that team being a very good team than actual proof that they are as good as they think they are. I would not be concerned with Chad's gauranty, any one can buy ticket's to the play-off's, even you and I! :o
