Fox and Panthers GM Marty Hurney also realize the daunting task of finding that next quarterback. I remember talking to Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome in 2007, after the Ravens had realized that Kyle Boller wasn't the solution at quarterback. Newsome spent countless hours reviewing college film and realizing how the college game -- with spread offenses and quarterbacks who don't line up directly behind a center -- has turned the scouting of future NFL quarterbacks into a guessing game.

Although it took a year, Newsome hit on Joe Flacco out of Delaware. The quarterback problem was solved.
I'm not a big fan of jake delhomme, honestly feel they can do better with even a QB like kyle boller. He's a nice guy, but not a QB that can win them multiple championships.

Why have I always thought of Jake Delhomme as an old man, in the same vein as Jeff Garcia or Brett Favre? I mean, when he was quarterbacking the Panthers to the Super Bowl in the 2003 season, he was only 28 or 29 years old...yet, I've always assumed he was 37 or something. For the past five years. -_-

They'll go 9-7 with Peppers and 6-10 without.

Peppers signed his tender,so I think they're fine.

I was thinking the same thing a while back, and then the Panthers signed him to an extension so he'll be there through 2013!

I don't see why they gave him a 5 year extension. A 3 year extenstion, to where they can draft a new Franchise QB and let him sit behind Delhomme. I don't think he can do what Kurt Warner and Brett Favre, and possibily Daunte CulPepper(this is a suprise but I think he can do well if he starts in Detroit) could do this year, that's perform at an age where a QB is suppose to be done. If they haven't traded their 1st round pick in 2010, I can see them taking one of the top QB's if they do bad enough to be in the top 10 or be in position to take a top QB if he falls to them. I'll say 8-8 for Carolina, and a pick of 12-15 in the 2010 draft.

I would like to see Sam Bradford, or Tim Tebow go to Carolina, as long as Carolina gets some new young recievers for them to throw to.
