There is one year left in this decade, can the steelers use it to even up the arguement for team of the decade

lets take a look at the stats

Patriots Win PCT- .708
Record- 102-42
Steelers Win PCT- .657
Record- 94-49-1
-------------------------------------------------------

Patriots Playoff Appearances- 6

Steelers Playoff Appearances- 6
-------------------------------------------------------

Patriots AFC Championship Appearances- 5
Wins-4
Steelers AFC Championship Appearances- 4
Wins-2
--------------------------------------------------------

Patriots Superbowl Wins- 3

Steelers Superbowl Wins-2

The only stat that can not be matched next year is AFC championship wins, which would be off by one

i think the steelers can tie them if they win the bowl

its all about how many rings you get, so if the steelers can go back to back they're right up there with the brady bunch.. they're probably the best 2 teams in football right now, so it could happen, but if the steelers win the SB yet again next year, i will be in a deep state of depression until april of 2010 when all their FA's go bye bye lol

Patriots, even if Steelers win again this season. Just based on other stats, and some individual brilliance by Brady and Moss. Very close though.

haha....yea

im hoping that works out somehow

if we win next year i think the two teams have to split the title

on a side note

the patriots have 11 players that have multiple rings

the steelers have 17

For me, everything the Patriots have done this decade before Spygate is tainted. I take the utmost pleasure from the fact they haven't won a championship since. So if the Steelers win the last Super Bowl this year and tie the Pats 3 for the decade I give the nod to the Steelers hands down.

If 2010 is capless, I have heard that this means players will have to be with their teams for a longer time before they hit FA. You might just get your wish.

Hopefully neither team wins next year. ;)

On your side note: Why is that significant? The Patriots are generally known to get rid of players as soon as their stats slide so this isn't really a surprise to me.

the steelers have more of the team that they used to get their rings then the pats do

so the great team that one all those rings isnt all there anymore

in a sense the pats dynasty team is going the way of the dodo....they have limited time

Were comparing them right?Well then the Pats because they're one of the only teams that can smoke the Steelers on defense and not even blink.

I see what you're saying, but I'm still going to pull for the team that isn't the Steelers.

if your talking about 2007, it helps when both our stating safeties are out

but we beat them multiple times as well duing this decade.....we beat them some years some years they beat us

Didn't the Eagles, Giants, and Titans do that this year, and didn't the Ravens do it in '06?

OT: And if we win the SB this year, we'll be tied with Pitt for SBs this decade!

But team of the decade is probably the Pats.

Ok if both safties did play, let's minus 10 points, the Pats still would have beat you.

No excuses; every team has injuries. The Patriots won and the Steelers got their butts whooped.

if that game counts then so does the game we played this year

we destroyed them in that game

every team has injuries right

Exactly. No one cares that Baltimore was like the second most injured team in the NFL, so I don't see why any other team should get a break. A loss is a loss. That said, I prefer it when the Steelers are the ones losing...

The steelers and the patriots have played 7 times this decade

the steelers scored a total of 158 points.....thats an average of 22.6 points a game

the patriots scored a total of 182 points......thats an average of 26 points a game

so the patriots only score an average of 3.4 points a game more than us when we play

thats pretty darn even IMO

^ That is almost even. You could also say that the Cardinals almost won the Superbowl,(or conversely: the Steelers almost lost) but almost doesn't count.
Three point four points is about a field goal of a difference which is easily enough to win a game.
So what is the win loss record?
