OKay guys, I finally figured out a way to make a high quality highlight video from using NFL.com. No, I am not using their "re-cutter", because it basically sucks. I made one last year, but I just used footage from youtube.com and just re-mixed it up. Now I can use almost all of the game clip. So two things:

How long do you want the movie to be? I'm not sure how long it should be, but I certainly hate short videos.

What should the music be? I love Chicago Hip Hop (Yes, it's a real thing, yuo would know if you were here), but you guys tell me what you want.

If you want high quality clips from NFL.com just download RealPlayer. It comes with a program that lets you directly download videos from websites. All you have to do is right click on the video. (You have to use Internet Explorer though).

Be careful though, if your gonna post the video on YouTube. They've been cracking down lately. The locked my accounts and I foolishly forgot to backup my vids on my Hard Drive

I think"Here Comes the Boom" by Nelly is a great football theme song, but as long as long as the song you chose does not have profuse cussing in it, I'm cool. Just please, please don't be tempted to us "Reqium of a Dream," it is used in just about every other Ravens video.
Great tip about realplayer, Bossman. I've been wondering how to make vids myself so I'm gonna try that out.

Edit: Aww :( I can't get it when I right click.

Well I figured out two ways. I'm on a Mac, so bear with me if you cannot do this. First way:

Download and install Vuze software. Get any hypercam torrent from either there or any other site that offers torrents. Frankly, I liked Screenium. (It is not illegal, I just used the trial) I went to NFL.com and just recorded all of the highlights.

Then there is method #2. Way harder, way faster and more accurate.

Download RealPlayer 11. Use the browser and go to any video on NFL.com. (Make sure you have the Download Agent installed) Download any video, and you will see them as FLV's in a new folder called RealPlayer Downloads. Download and install a software called Prism. Import the video onto Prism, and convert it to an MP4.

Once you do this, just import it onto iMovie, or whatever.

I think I have an earlier version of Realplayer, that might have been my problem. Is this Prism software free?

Hip Hop is OK, but I think Rock is best for football highlights.

I have been pushing for The Alan Parsons Project ~ The Raven
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSQz_LQ6Kak

Edgar Winters Group ~ Frankenstien
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olKilzV1G1s
There are no lyrics, so you don't have to worry if the words don't match the action.

I like the Scorpions ~ The Zoo when watching D plays
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H18irGKTbS0
but because of all of the University of Miami players on the Ravens perhaps Rock you like a Hurricane would be better
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rB8HudfbaTE...feature=related

AC/DC ~ Thunderstruck is pretty good for big hits
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvoeeq-BH4w
Or T-N-T
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yex1yyySpyM
AC/DC is ok but if you listen to them for too long all the songs sound alike after a while.

Pink Floyd ~ Dogs of War
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grghaa7MYaE
Pink Floyd ~ Run Like Hell
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMoPgkczdq8
Check them out you'll be able to figure out where they belong.

If you highlight the bad calls against the Ravens I can think of no better song than Victim or the Crime by the Grateful Dead
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3X6LNOjvYRs
or for Joe Flacco highlights Grateful Dead ~ Estimated Prophet
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ1mI-qobiY...feature=related
Maybe even Built to Last
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s6MCvMONVM...feature=related

there are more but check these out
Flashing Lights by Kanye West
"Flashing Lights" is a great song and all, but it's not suited for football. It's more of the type of song I'd listen to when I'm driving around on a night out, dressed up and in that grown & sexy mood, y'know?

And I agree with strangebru that rock music is best for football highlights, if only because the intensity level is inherently higher. Believe me, I'm a hip-hop fan (I host a hip-hop radio show, c'mon now), but I'd still go with rock. It's just easier to deal with since it's less about the lyrics and more about the music; if you use a rap song, the biggest issue will always be with lyrics of certain songs not matching up to the actual visual -- just a small gripe of mine.

Lol, the song I'm using is amazing if we were a team from the South. The other song is perfect for our team though. Don't want to give it away but.......... It definitely has something to do with the media being ___ers to us. Hi ___er

Check out the hand of God mixtape by maino and some of his older stuff, dude rhymes with alot of passion and heart. Agreed he's not a lyrical beast by any means but he has alot of quality material. Hi hater was the popcorn commercial single he needed to get his name out to the general public.

I can't believe I left out the best all time football highlight rock song ever Stranglehold by Ted Nugent.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0c3d7QgZr7g

Yes, it was the song used in "Invincible" during the training camp scene.
