Wow Neepo, I am so so glad I dont give a damn about anything you say.

If anyone actually paid attention to his comments he is doing it in all fun. Why should he lie to the press like every other coach and be like "well, the patriots are great and the dolphins are great, we are just going to try real hard". He is a players coach and his team feeds off of that.
Rex Ryan was a Brian Billick minion. Ozzie and the crew, wanted an attitude change at the top. They wouldnt have gotten that with a guy who knows nothing but the way Billick does things. We needed someone who was going be tough, professional and discipline this team when neccessary and isnt going to be the players buddy, Rex wouldnt have been that just like Billick wasnt. This crap he's up to now, is a great example what we didnt want or need.
"Brian Billick minion" Lol it seems like you have quite a bit of animosity toward our Superbowl winning coach, Neeps. ;)

Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and I wouldn't trade Harbs for Ryan (as a head coach), but I have to admit that Ryan amuses me every time he talks to the media. It seems like he's always talking trash; not on the same level of say Bart Scott, but it's funny all the same lol. He's also willing to admit that he's confident about his team, unlike other coaches.
However, a former player (I think it was Phil Simms) once said that the worst thing that can be said about a head coach is "he's a player's coach."

I respect Billick but I wanted him out and I am glad he's gone. I am not going to act like, I miss him when I dont. I dont mean to seem so brash about him but I dont have any warm fuzzy feelings when I think back to Billicks tenure here. The begining was glorious but the end was hell.

I understand that people are entertained by Rex's comments, thats why the media keeps writing about it. But talk is cheap and thats all Rex has been doing lately. I think its unprofessional and immature of him. I'd be embarressed if Harbs started running his mouth to the media the way Rex has.

I don't think he should lie and he definitely should be optimistic and confident in his team, but in that article, he was joining in on the trash-talking and I don't think a coach should do that. A coach is like a parent and the parents should leave that kind of thing to the kids [players] and they should be above it all. Maybe he meant it good-naturedly and I don't doubt he was laughing when he said those things, but there was an edge to it, too; he was taking his own pot shots. There is a way to show confidence in your team without that. Just my opinion.

And, actually, Crowder made a good point and won the argument, in my opinion, when he responded to Ryan's two statements, "I don't know this Channing Crowder" and "...preparation wins championships" with "...If he wants to be prepared, shouldn't he know the starting middle linebackers of his division rival?" Gotcha, Rex. ;)

Still, all this doesn't mean Ryan won't do well and doesn't deserve some success - just... concentrate on the coaching, Rex.

Yeah Rex is very familiar with Crowder since we kicked their asses twice last year. Crowder needs to do his research as well and figure out how a defense picked off their QB 5 times and how they let Joe Flacco get a rushing TD LOL

Not looking forward to the constant Rex Ryan's Defense references we will be hearing about the Jets this coming year! He will always be considered/known for being more of a defensive coach then a head coach, in my opinion.

I feel the same. I loved them all when they played for the Ravens, but they are gone now. Although I wish them well, I hope the Ravens cream them this season

As much as I'd like to disagree with Mr. Neepo, I simply cannot. He is correct. Alexir, you seem to be a fan whom likes to question every move... why the doubt? Rex did a great job, but I still feel he could not adjust after a team had our number... Sometimes the bouncing around and silly formation changes and weak philosphy in the 4th quarter got tiresome.

I could be wrong; it would not be the first time.
For obvious reasons I cant play but if I did I'd play for the Texans.
What more obvious reason is there than being female?
Will Demps. :D
Perhaps I am reading too much into the statement (maybe Neepo likes him because he was once a Raven), but I don't think many guys are into this:

I don't really question much the front office does. I really just want to know why they went with Harbaugh instead of Rex. Not because it is a good/bad decision but just curious of why harbaugh had the qualities they were looking for and Rex didn't fit the bill.

it was 200% the right decision so who cares?

Um I do. Not saying they made a wrong decision but I just want to be a fly on the wall when they were deciding just to hear what they said about each candidate. I feel Rex is of HC quality since a team with a winning record fired their coach and went after him.

You know, an easier way would have been to just look at Neepo's profile. She's not exactly hiding the fact that she's female. In fact, there have been at least 3 of us in this discussion. And at least one of the mods is female.

We're taking over...
