Man do I love this dude. He's a players coach and he isn't afraid to talk smack to Channing Crowder of the Miami Dolphins.

I already miss this guy but I gotta wonder why Biscotti and Ozzie decided not to give him the job last year.

I miss Rex,too. Probably everybody on this board misses Rex. I'm sure management had their reasons for not picking Rex. I think we will do fine with Harbs

Yeah, I'm just curious why they didn't pick him and they picked a secondary coach instead (nothing against John). It's really wierd to pass up a Coordinator for a secondary coach.

I hear you, but I trust management to make the right decision for the team.

Every coach who knew Harbaugh recommend him to become the HC, including Bill Belicheck and Andy Reid. Harbaugh would have became a cordinator for the eagles or another team in due time if he diddnt get a HC job, Sinority plays a big roll.

We all love Rex but Rex was part of the Billick era and we were and are shying away from it, especially the big project with Boller.

What you say here is right on the money. I though Rex was a great DC, but you have to understand that this franchise needed to go in a whole new direction. The Billick era grew stale, and we wallowed in mediocrity on offense for so long that we needed drastic changes. Unfortunately, Rex was part of the Billick regime, and don't forget that Rex is a player's coach. Billick was a player's coach, and management knew that it was time for a more authoritative coach. Hence, John Harbaugh was hired.

you dare question the great and all powerfull ozzie , he delivered us Ray Lewis he has delivered us Joe Flacco and Ed Reed(who has more coverage on the field then cnn or the euro missile defense grid) and lastly he gave us Harbs all have been GREAT moves heck lets not forget Clayton , to be honest we all miss Rex BUT I have a feeling the way the lb coach worked last year and is now our D coord we wont miss him too much in one interview Rex said I give ray and suggs each 6 plays then let them decide , so I dont think we will be too hurting . good luck rex but come on boys we want that lombardi trophy

Of all the names you could have included you decided on Mark Clayton? How about Ogden, Suggs, Mcallister, Ngata. Interesting choice.

Haha exactly. Clayton is a good player and I still think the best is yet to come with him, but to list him as one of Ozzie's GREATEST moves is hilarious.

I do not and will not miss Rex Ryan, Bart Scott or the one year wonder everyone has fallen in love with Jimmy Leonard at all! You may ask why I would say this? If I want to see or hear anything about them, I can just turn on NFL Net. I have seen Rex Ryan everyday this week! :P

Hey, I loved the Mad Backer, Rex and Jimmy but we'll just keep plugging away! Anyone remember last year before the 1st Steelers game, Harbs said we are trying to build a dynasty!

This may be the first time I actually root for a team from New York (aside from the Giants beating the Pats 2 years ago in the Superbowl... seriously, screw NE). I hope the Jets do well under Rex.

Yeah, the Jets are the team I rout for in the AFC East. So I cant wait to see Rex and Bart dump all over Miami and NE.

I don't think that will happen and frankly, I don't want it to.

Maybe I'll root for the Bills.

Oh, crap, forgot about that... :o

Okay, I'll root for Miami.

Oh, and I guess I just don't want "our" players and coaches to all defect to another team and for that team to instantly do well. It's probably just petty "how dare you leave us" thinking on my part - and I do understand why they left. Mild individual success is what I wish for all those that left looking for greener pastures. Ick, when I put it that way, I'm not even sure I want them to have that! Yep, I'm petty.

I wish them the best. I met Bart he is a cool dude. I hope they do well. And I am glad Rex got a head coaching job just how I was glad Mike Smith, Nolan, Del Rio and Lewis all got head coaching jobs.

Ive never liked Miami and the fact they have Joey Porter and Channing Crowder only makes me dislike them more.

That banter from Rex is one the reasons, I am glad he is gone. For someone who has won nothing as a HC or DC, he is extremally cocky and that attitude rubs off on the players. That attitude has never paid off for us and it will not pay off for him in NY. Its one thing to be confident in your abilities but its another thing to be boastful about. He's going to look like an ******, if the Jets dont back it up.

Rex Ryan was a Brian Billick minion. Ozzie and the crew, wanted an attitude change at the top. They wouldnt have gotten that with a guy who knows nothing but the way Billick does things. We needed someone who was going be tough, professional and discipline this team when neccessary and isnt going to be the players buddy, Rex wouldnt have been that just like Billick wasnt. This crap he's up to now, is a great example what we didnt want or need.
