San Diego has the occasional mud slide that takes out a portion of a neighborhood, or the enormous fires that don't always reach housing areas. Miami experiences hurricanes yearly. Hurricane Andrew caused over $40 Billion in damages alone.
Yeah but in Miami you know what you're getting. There's a hurricane or so every year but you board up the house and ride it out. California is suseptible to all but one major type of natural disaster. Granted, a tsunami hasn't struck Cali since I think 1964, but you know, the danger is there.

Don't get me wrong Dave, I love Miami. But I'd feel just as safe/just as in danger, in San Diego.

I guess it'd be less of a trip to the pro bowl every year

If it meant a trip to Hawaii, I'd play for the XFL.

No one really wins the pro bowl. Everyone's the loser in that situation.

Because they had to fly to Hawaii (and these are people that could do that whenever they want) to play a meaningless game that no one cares about and are risking injury, even though big hits are frowned upon.

Dave, I have NEVER heard anyone (players or coaches) complain about it.
Well, being a geography student, you hear about the ridiculous amount of natural disasters that happen in Cali, and it puts you off a bit. I know Miami's not completely immune, but it's not in the same stratosphere really.
Earthquakes & Schwarzenegger come to mind regarding Cali disasters.....oh, wait...

Ed Reed didn't show up for it because he would have risked being hurt, does that count?

Colts -- Love to have Manning throwing me the ball... (If Dungy was still coach this would be a no brainer for me)
Giants -- NY, solid team
Redskins -- Local

So it's like a paid vacation (which is great for those players that are thrifty, specifically veterans). And the paycheck is nothing to scoff at for a rookie or late-round player.
Just like the title says, what NFL team would you play for and why?

It doesn't matter whether you consider ownership or the current roster or any outside factors -- you pick the team, you pick the reasons. Also, you can throw out real-life restrictions like physical attributes or gender or anything else of that nature that would prevent you from playing in the NFL; this is hypothetical, after all. And, of course you can't pick the Ravens for obvious reasons. (Or your primary NFL team, for those opposing teams' fans who are regulars around these parts) ;)

Here's my partial list:
1) Washington Redskins -- my #2 team because of my family, so naturally, I'd play for them.
2) New England Patriots -- great ownership, great coaching, and it'd be fun to start another dynasty.
3) Houston Texans -- it'd be nice to play alongside the likes of Andre Johnson, Steve Slaton, Mario Williams, and DeMeco Ryans. All great, underrated talent.
!) Tennesse titans Because I want to play for a good Defense..
2) New England- Because then I can intercept Tom Brady during practice
3) Okland Raiders- Because it's easy to walk on and get contract...
4) Eagles- Because they lost Dawkins and they could use a Saftey

I would even sign for pennies or just enough to get by....I want to prove myself and get a nice contract the following years...

I think it's fair to say that a rookie that makes the pro bowl will be roliing in dough for the rest of his days, unless he gets into heavy gambling or something.

Because Ed Reed was eskeered of being hurt, has nothing to do with our debate. That's ridiculous. Going to the Pro-Bowl is a privelege and they don't have to go if they don't want to. I don't think Ed Reed "complained" as was our argument. Doesn't count. Period.
