81 posts in this topic

I was just watching the series finale of Reba on Lifetime and I started thinking about all the canceled shows that I want back.

Mine are:

Reba
Will & Grace
The Bernie Mac Show (even though thats impossible)
Girlfriends
Living Single
The Nanny
Still Standing
The Parkers
Full House
SisterSister
Shark

My Wife & Kids
My Name is Earl (even though it could potentially be picked up in time for next season by another network)
MadTV (only recently cancelled)
The Tick (the animated series, not the live action one)
8 Simple Rules
Knight Rider remake (it had potential, but it was largely inconsistent)

I would love to have Shark back on the air...I have no idea why it was canceled, it was so good.

Also, Love Monkey. That show died very early but I thought it was great while it lasted.

Black Sheep Squadron

Ya know Warden I watched Emergency after being a nurse for 20 years and just laughed. Its so hokey now. That show is why I became a nurse.

You want a show to be brought back that should've been cancelled after one episode?

Life on Mars
and I cannot believe that they canceled My Name is Earl! And they leave those dumb shows "Parks and Recreation" and "The Office" get to stay!

I'm indifferent to "The Office" staying, only because I'm a fan even though last season was hugely inconsistent (but ended pretty strongly, IMO).

I must be missing something because i don't "get" The Office. Some of the stuff will make you laugh, but so will the commercials.

It appeals mostly to 20-somethings like me because we understand the absurdity of it and the real world. (Basically, it's humor that you just have to "get"...lol)

I've been told it because I have never worked in a "true" office being a nurse. When I did I was doing home care so my office was my van and in the hospital I never had an office that did not contain a commode! :P

Is that the James Woods one? Yeah, James Woods AND it was a good show. I have no idea why it didn't catch on.

Another show that I don't get why it didn't catch on. I thought it was great.

But my favorite, and I doubt too many folk here even heard of it:

Farscape.

Fresh Prince Of Bel Air

greatest sitcom ever. Will Smith's best platform of showcasing his talent. not really feeling his action/drama films
what??? truly u were intoxicated when u posted this
Well, even though that's been the case every other night this past week (lol), I meant what I said. Even though there were some truly flat-out hilarious moments this past season, not every episode was that great. The season didn't pick up steam, IMO, until the last handful of episodes. I think the Super Bowl episode was just one of many examples of inconsistency this past season; it did nothing to grab new viewers, nor did it really appease the current fanbase. The celebrity guests in that episode did nothing to improve it, and the episode as a whole was very lackluster and disposable.

However, I loved the story arc of Michael getting fired and then forming his own company, only to be rehired again. That was what the show needed to give itself a shot in the arm, as it was a brand-new dynamic and opened the door for more scenarios. I only hope that Charles continues to be a part of the show, and that they give the new receptionist Erin more screen time.
