I just want to say that he is a "freaking soldier" and even though Heap, LJ, Quinn might be healthy (also add Davon Drew)when we make the 53 man roster, I hope we don't cut this guy. The fact that he can catch and block on one side of the ball, and rush the passer on the other side really shows how important he is to the team. I would truly be upset if he didnt make the team.

i completely agree and like i've said on other threads i think we're kinda doing this dude an injustice by putting a player of his caliber as a 4th stringer behind heap, smith, and sypniewski. (and just drafting davon drew. ) i just want to see him be successful, i dont wanna see his versatility go to waste.

I think if it came down to it he could probably play at Full back too if Leron and Cook go down.

I'm a big fan of EdgarJones, he's A.D.II, but I just wish the coaches would let him expand his role solely with the defense. Moving him to the offensive side of the ball, only retards his progress as the new versatile X factor in the Ravens defensive schemes the way Adalious Thomas was. The Ravens defensive schemes were at their very best when Adalious Thomas moved around from DE to OLB to NT to S to MLB to DT during any series of plays. I'd always hoped to see Edgar Jones in that same role.

I would love to see Jones in a bigger role but even if he isn't, his presence on special teams and ability to fill in several different positions makes him really valuable.

Where was all this love for Edgar Jones a week ago. If i remember correctly in the Thread last week projecting the 53 man roster, a lot of people had Edgar Jones getting cut.

As i said in that post, Jones is a player that allows the Ravens to do so much more, with less players. He can allow you to stash a guy like Jason Cook on the PS, because at 6'3 263 Jones can fill in at backup FB/HB when need. He give you an extra pass rusher, he'll be a willing block at TE. He also provides good coverage on STs.

I honestly think that Edgar Jones has the potential to be a really good OLB in this league and provide that extra pressure on the other side of Suggs. However he is such an athlete that Ravens wanna use him anywhere they can to improve the team.

I fully expect Jones to make this team and on top of that i think he will be a major contributor at some point this season. The questions is at what position?

I would say DE simply because the TE position is log-jammed.
