It's tough to argue with the Pats, Steelers and Giants. I think we're pretty even with the Eagles, so I think it's a fair ranking. But it's not often we get fair ranking, so this was a nice surprise.

I agree with you.. I think the generosity towards us as of late(Power Rankings) has had to do a lot with the drafting and progress of Joe Flacco with our offense.. Had us not taken Flacco, i couldnt see this happening.. Also, look at the team right behind us and how their first round draft pick did..

Last year ATL would not be rated 6th.. Guaranteed.. The whole Mike Vick situation really hurt the franchise and if Matt Ryan never came in, they would EASILY be in the twenties on that list..

About time we get the recognition we deserve..

Sounds about right to me.
Steelers score(points)should be a little closer to the Pats
After the first few there seems to be a drop off.
The Giants stadium is a dump(literally).
The Colts at 7.
Maybe its all the changes they're going through this off-season.

It does seem that as soon as a player sees the castle they want to become a Ravens player. Shannon Sharpe was even moved to see an oil painting of himself in the castle, he said the Broncos didn't even have an 8X10 photo of him in their facility. On top of all of that look at the number of head coaches in the league that have been with the Ravens in some capacity:

1) Marvin Lewis
2) Rex Ryan
3) Jack Del Rio
4) Jim Schwartz
5) Eric Mangini
6) Mike Nolan
7) Mike Singletary

College
8) Rick Nueheisel
9) Pat Hill

As every Steelers, Browns, and Bengals fan will point out about Ray Lewis, outside of that one incident many many years ago, how many run ins with the law have Ravens players had? How many times have players created a stink in the media because of the Ravens organization? (Thank God TO didn't want to play here)

The Ravens are a class organazation, as are most of the teams in the league. The fact that the Ravens have been able to put a team together that always seems to have a team first mentality. Even with all of his contract stuff all up in the air last year, and again this year, Terrell Suggs doesn't go out crying to the media, like TO and Anquan Boldin seem to be doing, he is just a professional and does his job and excells at it. The most I ever remember him saying is "I am here to do a job and the contract stuff will work it self out eventually." The biggest controversy this off-season was when Ray Lewis was quoted as saying, whether he did or not is still up for debate, "I don't play less, so why should I get paid less," when refering to taking a hometown discount. That wouldn't even register on a lot of other teams, with all of their circuses going on.

I used to get upset that the media didn't focus on the Ravens more, now I know that it's actually a good thing that the Ravens players have the luxury of just dealing with football and not all of the rest of the foolishness a lot of other teams have to deal with.

Wow, I'm surprised at this. Cold Hard Football facts gave us seventeenth place... but they also put the Browns at like 13 or something lol.

I'm glad we finally got some love from the media. :)

Agreed, good find dave.

And yeah, i'm happy about the ranking. Good that we're finally getting some recognition.
I do think we could even be in front of the eagles, them at 5 and us at four. I think donovan is overrated.

Don't forget Kirk Ferentz! He is the head coach for Iowa and was with Ted Marchibroda's staff when we relocated here.

Why do you think he's over rated?

Sure,he hasn't won a SB(yet ;) ),but he gets ripped a lot and that is a tough city to play QB in.

The Eagles franchise has had their most success under him in the SB era.

He has the best TD/INT ratio in NFL history(194-90).

There are quite a few QBs that are in the HOF that haven't had as much success as he's had.

I do not see why you'd think he's over rated, but your entitled to your opinion.

Being a Ravens fan I don't think you can name any one in your teams history that's any better than him and should recognize good QB play when you see it.

The Ravens are a well-run team with some great players. They deserve to be in the top 10 of any list such as this.

All I needed for the next few football-less months was hype! Did a media outlet really just call the Ravens, "among the elite". My lord, September never comes quick enough!
