How does Norv Turner keep getting head coaching jobs? And what about Herm Edwards? Am I missing something? Norv hasn't done anything since he was the OC in Dallas, no doubt due to Jimmy Johnson telling him what to do. Edwards has never done anything that I'm aware of.

I like Herm,

"You play to win the game!"

Anyways, he's made the playoffs 4/7 years as a HC so he must be doing something right.

I don't know why the Chargers fired Marty for Norv (of all people)

Norv has a 41% winning pct and has only made the playoffs once

Marty is a HOF coach and the Chargers will be feeling the pain of losing in a few years, if not sooner.

Pssf, on good old Herm Edwards I think he is a horrible!! coach. He took a very very GOOD Cheifs team and they sucked last year he took them to a 9-7 record thats horrid and now their 0-2 this year.

Yeah they got into the playoffs with a "WILD CARD" I believe last year because Denver switched QB's halfway threw and gave them their shot with Cutler in and not experienced in the NFL at all. But the team has just majorly went down hill since D Vermeil gave the TEAM over to Herm.

And now It's a shame for the Franchise itself and a shame for the fans!!.

I feel for them I know they cannot stand Herm Edwards one bit since he has took over he has did nothing for that team shows you hoiw much better a Coach D Vermeil was. THE ABSOLUTELY only thing I like about the guy is his attitude towards the game!! but he is an awful coach. Maybe he could be a good defensive coach thats about it, I don't think he will last long as a HEAD COACH for the CHIEFS if this keeps up!! the OWNER sure as heck isn't use to this losing.

And as far as Norv Turner goes I think he is an OK COACH. Not good enough to be the HEAD COACH of a team like the SAN DIEGO CHARGERS!!!!!. Heck if that is not luck for Norv that I do not know what is. TO be given a team with such TALENT wow I wish that was me, I am sure a lot of "GOOD COACHES" would drop their team to COACH the CHARGERS. :)

Marty got fired because just like he's done with every single team in the past (and ESPECIALLY Cleveland), he cannot win the big games in the playoffs. Are they all his fault? Of course not.. but being the HC, the blame will come down upon him. The one thing I do *not* understand was firing him and choosing Turner as his replacement.. that really baffles me.

With regards to Herm Edwards personally I think he is a good overall coach and one that I respect. Yeah the Chiefs are 0-2 this year but seriously, that is a bad bad football team. I've been saying it since day 1, there is no way Larry Johnson replicates past numbers. Opposing teams are gonna stuff 8 in the box because they know Huard or Croyle cannot beat them with their arms. Combine that with the fact that both of LJ's pro-bowl OLine players are now gone (The dueling Wills), he just doesn't stand a chance unfortunately. He'll have his good games but overall, not a superstar season I see.

It's not because he couldn't win playoff games, otherwise they wouldn't have picked Turner over him in that case. It was because A.J Smith and Marty collided egos when it came to personell. So far Smith isn't looking too good.

That may very well be the case but his past playoff experiences certainly had to factor into that decision in one form or another.
