He may be, but it's not in his name. Why do you ask Neeps?

Then its probably not the same person. He/she seems to travel from message board to message board, mostly for the Browns, starting discussions about this and we've bumped heads to say the least. Big surprise there.

My opinion:
Though I think NFL Championships should certainly be acknowledged, they shouldn't be combined and put on the same level as a Super Bowl Championship.

My reasoning is...
I get what you are saying, but I don't agree completely. Just because the players were determined by a less organized method doesn't mean they didn't compete for the job or that they didn't try as hard. Also, just because the fanbase hadn't reached the proportions of today, doesn't mean it was any less of a league. If that "version" of the league is considered an earlier incarnation of the current NFL league [and I get the impression that it is], then those wins should be considered.

LOL. Good one.
Good point. Also the league went from 14 to 24 teams, practically doubling in size overnight. Saying that winning a 14 team league championship is the same as winning a 24 team league championship just isn't possible. NFL titles pre and post merger have to be considered apples and oranges.
Using that same logic, then the league before the expansion teams should be put in a different "basket". The number of teams or the number of games could constantly be fluctuating, but as long as it is considered the same league, the championships count.
I have never understood why so many fans dont take them into consideration. A championship is a championship, just because it was won in a different era and under a different name doesnt make it any less special. I'd even argue that they are more special just because of their place in history.
I agree.
