If The Unthinkable Happens

Lets say we go 0-16 and have the first pick in the draft
This will be interesting as this might determine what people think our greateset need is.

You can pick anyone, who do you choose and why??

With the 1st pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Baltimore Ravens select

Gerald McCoy - DT - Oklahoma

Reason - I truly beleive to have a great defence you need to have an amazing pass rush, Washington and Foxworth are tw young corners and Foxworth has looked great so fat in camp and Fabs will only get better and is agreat talent so we have the secondary. We just need the pass rush to help them. Pryce will retire after this year and Ngata isnt a pass rusher. We need that big Passrushing threat from the 3-4 and McCoy gives us that force. An amazing rusher McCoy will just terror people and with Ngata and McCoy inside we will free up the rest of our linebackers.

Other options for me where - Carlos Dunlap, Arelious Benn

I don't think we need the first overall pick for him though.

No way in Hell we go 0-16. We might have a losing season but there is just no way in hell we go 0-16 with the Raiders and Chiefs on our schedule. Oh and the Browns and Bengals haha.

If you take a first overall DT he better basically be albert haynesworth without the "i try when i want to try" attitude and be the biggest savage of all time.

If we go 0-16 it's gonna be nightmare on Broad St..... ;)

Please the Lions will probably take this guy first overall because they traded Corey Redding to the Seahawks.Next year better be a WR in the first or I riot.

Well I would definitely not go for a WR #1 overall unless that WR has consistently produced big numbers with or without a good QB, and has pretty good athletic ability/size to where he can become more than a possession receiver in the NFL. I've basically profiled Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and Larry Fitzgerald but that's the only way I would go for a receiver that high. There really isn't anybody in college football right now that fits that description except Dez Bryant, yet he is only a junior and plays in a spread system.

I guess I would go after a DL as well, possibly a LB/DE. I can't really name too many at this point but McCoy and Dunlap are pretty good choices, especially Dunlap. OL is basically a lock for a place NOT to go early next season IMO so i don't see us going that route either.

i like Dez Bryant but iworry about the system he comes from and the fact that he cant beat any corner unless he outjumps them. That wont work in the NFl as he isnt Larry Fitzgerald. If we where to go WR id like Arelious Benn or Damian Williams. benn is a big physical monster who reminds me of Brandon Marshall.

I think OL is alo out of the question in the first round next year. But if we had the first pick McCoy, Dunlap and Benn would be my top 3 guys.

The only way we are going to suck next year is all this talent and no chemisty because on paper we are stacked...

Its possile for us to go 0-16 but the following needs to happen.

Joe Flacco gets injured
Ray Lewis gets a injured
Suggs gets injured
Mason gets injured
Harbaugh becomes so ill he can't preform his duties as HC.

The likely of that all happening is very veyr, deeply low.

We will still win games with Troy Smith :P
Not havin Ray would kill us
Suggs probably will get injured cuz he is out of shape
Mason doesn't know what injury is
Harbaugh really doesn't do anything. Cam calls the plays, and Mattison calls the D

i hope your kidding.
The coach is a huge factor in challenges which Harbaugh was great at last year and he is also very important in clock management.

I don't think there is a player that is rated that high that would fit our needs.....
cept maybe Dunlap ( who is Mario Williams v 2.0)

Obviously you guys aren't understanding what I am saying which is no surprise since everyone on the forums freak out about a single statement.

All I am saying is if Harbaugh for some reason becomes "so Ill he can't handle HC job" we would be fine. Remember Cam Cameron has been a head coach in both college and the NFL. Not having harbaugh wouldn't cripple us. An infant could coach this team as long as Ray Lewis is there.

If the team went 0-16, I would want Benn or Bryant. I think Bryant is faster and probably more athletic overall but Benn seems like he will be the better NFL player because he's more complete.

I am so glad we won't go 0-16. Having that first overall pick seems more trouble than it's worth. Hopefully they will get the rookie scale in place to alleviate that. Anyways, I rather go 16-0, win the championship and pick 32. The joy of the NFL draft is that you can always trade up or down.

Even though the Ravens don't really need him, I would LOVEEEE to see Eric Berry of Tennessee in Purple. He plays safety for the Vols but he can also play corner and would be excellent in that position for the Ravens.

so why dont you grab tim tebow :)[/quote]

definately not the #1 overall pick IMO, but i think he could make a darn* good TE/H-Back in the right scheme

No that would mean he was hurt, geez. But we arent going to be 0-16 cause we are going to the Superbowl and beating the Steelers.
