Star Trek

Has anyone seen the new Star Trek movie? I saw it last night in the imax theatre at the Columbia mall and it was so good! Its not normally my kind of movie at all but I was immediately sucked in. The actors playing Kirk and Spock were awesome.

Every non-Trekkie that's seen it has told me that they loved it, so now I'm curious. I never liked Star Trek (I just couldn't get into it), but I think I'll give it a shot.

I saw it. It's different from the other Star Trek movies - more mainstream, more generic for new viewers, while still having enough "inside" parallels for long-time Trekkers to enjoy. It's also interesting how they manage to make it so that all future movies don't have to worry about continuity from past Trek endeavors - which gets challenging if you know sci-fi fans.

The only reason I went to see it just because I wanted to see Chris Pine, cause I loveeee him. but it was a really good/well acted movie.

I highly recommend this movie. This movie is badass. It's not your star trek convention type of deal. I guarantee you'll walk away thinking spock is a baddass and captian kirk is the man. I dont know much about the tv show other than I guess you were a dork if u watched it?? iono...but I can definitely tell you this movie is well worth the trip to the theaters and if you're cool enough you'll get a front row seat.

Those of you who partake in illegal substances....shame on you! But if you're gonna do it, then do it b4 the movie ;)

I love the fact they stuck with the old reliable pattern of the first member of the U.S.S. Enterprise to buy the farm wore a red shirt.

Very cool movie. Enough of the old reliable fooder to keep older Trekkies like me happy, while growing a new younger fan base.

How many of you wanted to see Spock use the Vulcan Nerve Pinch, and then cut a Romulans head open with his finger (like Sylar) and steal their abilities while they were unconscience?

I met James Doohan once when I was in high school. He was cool and I got to take a picture with him and he sent me an autographed portrait. About 20 years later I met his ex-wife at a video store in LA.

Just thought I'd throw that in.
