Who Do You Want To Win?(ilb Battle)
ESPN has Gooden beating out McClain because he's "more physical". What do you guy think?
Having seen alot more of McClain than Gooden, Gooden must be pretty damn physical if he's more so than McClain. Good to hear.

As for who I would prefer to win the job, it's Gooden right now.
I think McClain offers more at the outside linebacker position. That seems where he's natural to me.

Well Gooden is suppose to be the next "Ray Lewis" and have been saving him for a time like this I think McClain is not as good as everyone thinks

yeah i agree with all of you, Gooden should get the nod at starting ILB beside Ray Lew, and McClain can be used to spell Jarret Johnson/Terrell Suggs. I hope Antwan Barnes steps up this year too, along with Prescott Burgess

whoever is better for the job, thats all that matters
I would like Gooden though as mcClain is a terror rushing the passer so the more positons he knows the better as we can blitz him from anywhere

McClain and Gooden inside for a long time though IMO

gooden will win cause hes just got better skills but it should be a good competition but mcclain needs a little more time to get better with his fundamentals but its good 2 have both of them on our squad cuz in time they will both be beast.

Whoever can get to and knock out Ben Rothelisberger, Carson Palmer and Brady Quinn the fastest is the guy I want.

I want Gooden to win bcuz he'll be the better overall ILB. However, I would like to see McClain get smore reps at OLB this year. His athleticism coming off the edge is so dangerous, especially in a 3-4, that I think it would be well worth it on 3rd down situations.

I was reading one of Tony Lombardi's blogs at ravens24x7.com and according to him, Tavaras Gooden was the fastest LB the Ravens have ever had in franchise history. That's saying something right there, bcuz back in the day, Ray was a lightening strike on the field. But regardless if he's the "fastest ever", he's still fast as hell, and that kind of speed + power, running sideline to sideline, is gonna make our defense even deadlier! He's going to give more versatility w/the Blitz, and that's going to be exciting to watch bcuz Speed w/quick reaction = more sacks from the LB position.

I'd also like to see more 4-3 looks with Pryce & Suggs/Kuger on the ends, Ngata & Gregg as the DTs, and Ray, Gooden, Johnson/McClain as the LBs.

I agree with Dave; either ESPN really doesn't know anything about McClain, or Gooden is a monster.

i have to see that to believe it. 4.3? He wouldve been a running back or something. the fastest rb's/recievers run 4.2

I want the LB the shows he is the man in this years training camp to win the spot. I do not care what college you are from and/or what you did in college. I do not care if you won the Heisman as a LB. (LMAO)  I both develop in to great LB's.

Ray lewis is just around the 4.5 range, which is still MAD fast for a linebacker...especially when you consider he is faster than even some of the wideouts that come from this years' draft.

I'm confident that the Ravens will pick the best player to start at ILB. Having said that, I personally think that T Good will get the start. Guess we just have to wait and see

mcclain was an unknown ravens fans didnt know who he was when he made plays .... him breakin threw to get 2 safeties was just being plugged into a great system... when he stepped onto the feild do you think an offensive lineman was thinlin of blockin him or lewis ngata suggs n such??? when ed reed was a rookie he flew past Olines n blocked punts n got sacks... i dont think hes sacked a QB in the past two seasons... i really dont think mcclain willl start inside... he is a role player with potential to grow into a starter

good bye bart scott... everyone welcome tavaris "the new mad backer" goooden to the startin D

Gooden is going to get the position but McClain is going to get playing time. I'm excited to see both grow and mature.

There is no way Ray Lewis can run a 4.5 now.

It'd probably be around the 4.7-4.8 range.

Actually he sacked Ben Roethlisberger last year and blew up Derek Anderson the year before that (if I remember correctly, the snap was fumbled and then Ed got him after he recovered. It didn't count as a sack but it's exactly the same play in terms of yardage, which is all that really counts)

Hahaha Ray Lewis has never been able to run a 4.3. If you are going to make up lies, at least make them reasonable so you have a chance of people actually believing you. Oh and by the way, Yamon Figurs did 32 reps on the bench press at the combine. He has sneaky strength.
