I'm glad that I'm not the only one. Everyone's been saying that they wish Ryan well, and I felt like the odd one out when I wished that he, Scott, Leonhard, and Sanchez won't be able to do what we do.
No, your not alone, screw all that best wish's crap. I dont wish injuries on any of them or anything like that but I hope they all suck in New York. Had Rex gone to an NFC team, my feelings might be slightly different.

wait, the jets aren't an NFC team.... damn, here i thought they were, i mean their play resembles that of one doesn't it? (not too many physical NFC teams)

I don't know about that... the Bears, Vikings, the entire NFC East (usually).

i'll agree with 4 teams there
Bears
Vikings
Eagles
and Giants

the redskins and cowgirls aren't really that physical imo

but i mean in the AFC you've got 3 teams in their own level of physicality
Ravens
Steelers
and Titans

than you have teams like the chargers, jacksonville (who could actually compete at our level of physicallity), the bengals (believe it or not), the patriots, and sometimes the colts

The Chargers? I enjoy watching the Bolts play; they amuse me. Their defense, however is pretty much Cleveland caliber (25th vs 26th)
The Redskins and the Cowherd were the fourth and eighth rated defenses last year. That is pretty physical in my opinion, but to each his own.

I laugh at the Colts defense (but not the offense); they are barely above the Bungals. It's kind of a nervous laugh though because even though they're 11th in D (and 18th in O) , we still couldn't score on them.

i don't mean to harass the fact that you just started watching football last year

but the chargers Defense is scary when on all cylinders, they made it to the AFC CG the year before us, the only reason their D was so bad last year was no real pass rush, watch them when they have sean merriman

you can be rated very high on Defensive stat lines, but not be very physical, its really all about the pass rush

The Cards made it even further than that this year, but their defense still isn't anything to brag about.

I still see no reason to be impressed with an 8-8 team (except my Skins, but that's blind homerism) who lost to the Falcons, Panthers, and Dolphins and who's only wins against quality teams (in the regular season) were the Jets, Pats, and Bucs... okay beating the Pats is kind of cool, but those guys were a bit handicapped themselves.
Like you said though, I never watched them before and maybe I'll gain some more respect for them later on. Right now they are just a mediocre team who got to the playoffs simply because every other team in their division is lousy. Kudos to them for knocking the Colts out though.

I only boo stupid plays. Not interceptions or fumbles. (well I called Flacco a piece of **** but thats because he cant beat the steelers yet but i still support him). I do boo stupid bone head things that get us flagged and cause us to lose games *cough*JJ&STONE*COUGH

to give you an overview of how good the chargers are (probably in large part to L.T.)

2 years ago they were 14-2...... only team with a higher record than our 13-3
last year they made the AFC CG
this year they beat the colts

they do have an offense, but sean merriman is a huge part on how successful they are (as proven, he played in the 2 seasons previously, and then had season ending injury this year) i understand your perspective though

(oh and the reason i like phillip rivers/the chargers over the broncos is that the chargers take care of the colts for us :), than we generally beat the chargers

Yeah man, San Diego is the proverbial "sleeping giant". If Merriman comes back in full swing, Cromartie is going to do his Ed Reed impersonation again and that D will toughen up real quick...all that defense really has to do is just force a few turnovers every week, because when their offense is clicking, it's <insert nut stroking cliche>

But it really all comes down to LT for them. If he has one more year left in him, they will make a serious run.

Yeah, SD is one of the most physically talented teams in the NFL and even without Merriman last year they should have been better then an 8-8 team. Bad coaching can hold a team back and I have never liked Norv Turner as a head coach. He just always looks so clueless. We shall see, though.

Yeah, he's found a way to do it but I am not impressed. Two of those playoff wins were vs. the Colts, who always find some way to choke in the playoffs. And the other was vs a Titans team, who only got in because Dungy pulled all his starters in the last game of the season. The equivalent of beating the 07 Titans in the playoffs is beating the 07 Browns in the playoffs. If I recall, the 07 Browns lost to all but one team with a winning record. IMO, with home field advantage and team as talented as the Chargers, they should have won that game vs. the Titans.

lol. I know they won but I am saying that it was, for lack of a better term, an easy win for them.

The Colts didnt choke at all in 06, but thats the exception not the rule.

What is the Media gonna say next to make Ryan out to be the Coach of the Year? He's the only one that thought Ed Reed would have a good year?

I think Turner's in the same boat as Wade Phillips. Both were great Coordinators, but couldn't suceed as great as a Head Coach as they did as a Coordinator, which I think will happen to Rex to tell you the truth. I just really don't see Special in Sanchez what every one else does.

They will say whatever they need to say to sell him, Rex, to the Jet faithful. Just like they are doing with Bart Scott and Mark Sanchez. They've joined the Jets and now they are probably two of the most overrated players in the NFL. Scott was easily one of the most underrated LB's in the NFL but no where near top tier talent. Now the media is making him out to be a top 10 talent at LB and he's really not.
But this is professional sports. Not little league where every gets trophies for trying. Its like in the work world, you dont get credit for trying. You get credit for success. He had all the weapons to be successful which the management put around him. I blamed the management for Boller partly too, but he needs to get blamed. Flacco put up mediocre stats last year and he was a "successful" QB. All Boller had to be was mediocre. But instead he blew games for the ravens. I guess we will differ on opinion on this one. But i'm not like a philadelphia fan and boo their best players. But in my opinion Boller got everything he deserved
I totally didsagree. Boller never had a stellar offensive line to protect him. He barely had enough time to make a play before being creamed. He took alot of hits for us. He never complained and never mentioned a less than good O Line. I know he tripped over his own feet and regularly had that "deer in the headlights look", but come on guys give him a little slack. At times, he showed greatness. I would have liked to seen him play under Cams offense. Under Billick, I don;t think the Ravens ever had a solid offensive gameplan. I hope he succeeds with his new team.
