I will test this theory by playing as Gooden in Madden.

I only have 6 sacks so far. <_< His rating is a 74!!!
You have to be playing without the roster updates b/c he's not on the updated roster! <_<

DeAngelo Hall is perhaps the fastest CB in the NFL, did nobody get behind him? thats Madden logic.

Exactly. Speed isn't everthing. If you bite on a double move, you are beat. I don't care how fast you are. Also, last time I checked there are some fast WR in the NFL to go along with fast corners.

But if you dont have speed they dont even need to make moves to beat you.

Exactly.......A fast corner means no go routes, look at the Redskins game last year. They tried to hit Moss and Randle el on go routes against Fabian, and they couldn't connect, because he was soo fast.

Hes still in the game hes just in the FA list because they had to make room for McClain when he went on IR.

I'm really feeling Tavares Gooden this year. He watched Bart Scott from a whole year lets see if he rubbed off on him at all.

I'm hoping that if anyone rubbed off on him it's the future hall of famer in the middle.

Dude you're not getting what i'm saying.......Foxworth doesn't get beat on double moves, and niether does washington.....how many times did washington let someone get behind him?

So we are good. And foxworth only got beat over the top once, and that was agaisnt Donnie Avery.

Plus the time it take for someone to do a double move is enough time for someone to get into the backfield, and pressure the QB, or at least get a sack.

The point that Girondoravens was trying to make was that he is going to have to do the dirty work of taking on FB/OL blocks and getting off them to make the tackle which was Bart's main duty.

I love Gooden and his speed but since he has put on that weight I am hoping he can shed blocks better than he did in college. But, the same thing was said about Ray Ray and we all know how that turned out... ;)
Don,t count Jason Phillips out of the mix just yet !
Well, clearly you're a TCU homer judging by your name, but there is no way Jason Phillips bumps Gooden out of the starting LB spot. He's been in the system for a year and is already penciled in as the starter. Phillips is probably third on the depth chart at this point and will be a great special teams player and more of a future solution for ILB depth.

He will probably have to practice before he is crowned as the starter. He is a rookie and he is recovering from an injury so it is pretty hard for him to climb the depth chart.

I cant argue the fact he,s been in the system for a year longer, but everyone will see what a steal this young man was in the 5th round. I don,t think i every said he was the starter, but at this point they are just going thru walkthru drills and when they put on the pads it will be intersting how it turns out. not trying to create a stir.

And the Ravens have really only had passing OTA's. Just wait until the LB drills start.
