Why do people get so upset with analysts over stuff like this. Networks can't have analysts say, "I think all teams are going to do great this year and every team will make the playoffs." It just can't happen. Do the analysts "hate" every other team that they didn't pick to make the playoffs or do they just hate the ravens. People complain about everything on this forum. All I see is people talking about how terrible our draft picks are and how stupid ozzie is for not getting a WR and how the media is against the Ravens.
You'll get used to it. Because the NFL is a "what-have-you-done-for-me-lately" league, the fans are the same way across all fanbases. It's all about instant gratification, and if the team makes a move that doesn't make any sense in the short-term, everyone changes their tune when they see that it works out in the long-term.

Same thing about the media; every fan (even Patriots and Cowboys fans) complains about getting no respect, the minute that something negative is said about their team. Even if something quasi-disrespectful happens like being shown for only a minute in a 30-minute show, someone gets riled up.

No one wants to admit it, but this perception of disrespect subconsciously stems from a desire to see the Ravens virtually every minute of every NFL-related show. Why? Because Ravens fans could care less about any other team. Sure, you might say that you wouldn't mind a 5 or 10-minute segment, but you know deep down inside that, after a while, a regular 5 or 10-minute segment won't be enough.

Playoff predictions:
Chicaco Bears
Seattle Seahawks
NY Giants
Atlanta Falcons
Wild Cards: New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings

Baltimore Ravens
New England Patriots
Kansas City Chiefs
Indiannapolis Colts
Wild Cards: Miami Dolphins, New York Jets

I think Tennesee won't shine like they did last season and just miss the playoffs. Pittsburgh Steelers will have a winning record and miss playoffs going 10-6.

That's an interesting outlook Alexir, but as much as I hate to admit it, the Steelers should do a bit better than that. My playoff predictions

AFC:
N- Pittsburgh Steelers (Easy schedule, no glaring deficiencies)
S- Indiannapolis Colts (Getting to the playoffs is their specialty)
E- New England Patriots
W- Denver Broncos (Not quite as bad as other teams in the division)
Wildcards:
Baltimore Ravens
Jacksonville Jaguars (or another East team)

NFC:
N- Chicago Bears
S- New Orleans Saints
E- Philadelphia Eagles
W- San Fransisco 49ers
Wildcards:
New York Giants
Minnesota Vikings

I'll probably change my opinion in a month or so, but that's how I feel right now.

I like the 49ers this year but I need to see some QB action from them. I like where Kansas City is on offense, their defense should be great if their draft picks work out. I just dont see Josh McDaniels being a good coach.

Ray Lewis will knock you out! :P
You should change it to the hit on the dude from the titans in the playoffs...that one is better IMO lol.

I'd rather not be picked every year and make it consistently than consistently be picked and not make it (a la Bengals, Texans, Bills).

Does anyone remember how we were treated the year before we won the superbowl (like that season). Refresh your memory...see any similiarities?

Ravens have a history of having a good year, then bad or mediocore year, then another good year. I think this will change under Harbaugh. I have a feeling we are going to be a prennienal playoff team for at least a decade. Call me crazy, but I have another feeling that Flacco's going to be a top 5 QB for His entire career.

You forgot the Cowgirls.

You know something... even though so many people pick us to not make it to the playoffs, I've noticed that literally everyone (that I've seen so far) chose the Titans to not repeat.

I don't pay attention to preseason predictions. For me when the season starts we'll see who makes the playoffs. I hope we make it though.

Most likely its because they think the defense won't be the same with Hayneworth clogging the middle and the fact that both the Jags and Texans are seeming to be the hot picks to overtake the Colts and Titans right now.

my playoff picture for next year at this point

AFC
N=Pittsburgh.... they have an easier schedule than us
E=Patriots
S=Tennessee
W= Chargers

WC's
Ravens
Texans (idk, something about them is telling me this... hell they could even switch spots with ten.)

NFC
N=Vikings..... Adrian Peterson + Percy Harvin = scary
E= Philly.... mcnabb will step up after seeing that the team released dawkins while he was still playing good, and on the fans good side
W= .... i wish this could be a wildcard spot.... you'd get a better team
S= Saints, with the O they had last year they could be very scary

WC
Giants
Bears
Titans and Texans over Indy? That's a bold prediction, Reddawn.
ill stand by it... the only major if i have with it is how matt shaub does, if he gets injured for a few games (3-4 or more) than i'll change it to indy, but w/ no health concerns or w/e i'm gonna stick with my prediction :)

People have no reason to think the ravens arent going to make the playoffs. If anything we should be more in the running to win the division. With Flacco getting one more year experience. Our offensive line getting more experience (except for Oher of course). And you can make an arguement for Oher being an upgrade from Anderson considering Anderson's health last year and he didnt know the system. We got deeper at corner, which we were suffering at last year, all of these positions we have gotten better. That doesnt include our stars that are healthy now like Gregg and hopefully McGahee is better now.

The only things we got worse at are Bart Scott leaving, but i never thought he was anything more than a system guy and i know Gooden and McClain can replace him easily. Also, we lost Jason Brown but didnt really lose much because we picked up Birk. Centers dont age as quickly and Birk is a pro bowler so i dont think we are missing much. We lost Neal our fullback. But Jason Cook a rookie from Ole Miss sounds like the same kind of player Neal was, and fullback isnt a pressing need considering McClain can do the job. Wide reciever is our weakest position now and we picked up Washington which will help us temporarily.

I have big expectations for this year, now i'm a little biased but i actually have logic behind that bias. We will give the steelers a run for their money.

I'm going to remove my purple shades for a moment...

Okay, I can see why people have a few doubts about us. We did lose a defensive coordinator under whom we have never finished a year with less than the 6th best defense in the league. One of our starting linebackers (and what a good one he was) is gone and Jim Leonhard... no, even without the shades, a back-up just isn't too much of a factor when we're talking playoffs. Not only did we lose a good, young center who "knows our system" (most overused expression I've heard all season) ,but Chris McAlister, our three time pro-bowler and sb winner, is also gone as is Corey Ivy.
From the outside looking in we have lost quite a few starters while the Steelers have lost...?

Of course we will give them a run for their money, but they do have the easier schedule so personally I think they will take the divisional title. However, they had a bit of Superbowl slump the last time (I think) so maybe we will be able to take advantage of that.

Losing the defensive coordinator might affect us i'll give you that. But we replaced Marvin Lewis and Nolan Smith without our defense missing a step so i'm not too worried about it. Jim Leonhard was going to be the backup to Landry if Landry was healthy. We did lose Bart Scott but honestly i never thought he was that good. I thought the people around him made him better which is part of the reason why we were so willing to let him go. We did lose a really good center, but center isnt the most crucial position on the line. Chris McAlister hardly played these past two years so we arent missing anything. And Corey Ivy is slow and couldnt do anything but tackle.

Steelers lost Foote and McFadden, and marvel smith. I dont know who else. But your right the Steelers are going to be just about as good. I just think the Ravens have gotten better. I tried to look at our team honestly, and i just have a feeling about the Ravens this year.
