2009 Record Predictions?

96 posts in this topic

According to NFL Network we aren't even going to make the playoffs.

Yep, beat the team with the best record in the NFL, in the playoffs, in their home stadium...and they'll hate you for it.

Interestingly enough, they don't expect the Titans to make it either.

Super Bowl champs nothing less[/quote]
i do not really like to put a number on W's or L's. As long as we play every week with the best team we can field, play hard and keep cool heads, I think we will have another winning season in the play offs at least. Oh yeah, we also need some of that injury bug repellent.

According to the NFL Net and every other NFL sports show the Cowboy's were going to the Super Bowl last year. We all saw how that worked out. So who really cares what they say or think?

i am just SOO excited about this season! Coming off a trip to the AFC Championship game with a rookie qb and coach!! we supposedly have an easier schedule going by last seasons records, we have so many good players returning from injury, and i just know Flacco and the young recievers are going to be much improved! im SOO excited! The Ravens march to Miami begins in only 2 months when training camp starts!!

Lol when you said that, my first thought was, "We're not playing the Dolphins this year."

I think its funny how NFL network thinks "we wont have as many breaks fall our way this year." Apparently they fell our way last year??

Losing our starting and backup qb, having the second most injured team (behind Jax) in the nfl, having one of the hardest schedules follwing a 5-11 year, adjusting to a new head coach (a rookie nonetheless), and playing for 18 straight weeks... yeah, we got all the breaks.

we didnt get ALL the breaks but we took advantage of them when we did get them which is the difference between the 08 Ravens and the 07 Ravens

I know, right? Lets recap:

1. Rookie HC
2. Rookie QB thrust into starting role right before season opener
3. Week 2 hurricane that resulted in us playing 18 consecutive weeks
4. 2nd most players on IR (including playing most/all year without guys like McAllister, Gregg, Yanda and Landry, and Rolle missing 6(?) games)
5. One of the toughest schedules in the league
6. Our #1 WR and CB playing injured/not at all the entire playoffs
7. Oh, did I mention the rookie QB? Yeah, he had to start for us in the playoffs
8. Playing with makeshift personnel/packages due to the insane amount of injuries on defense

I pray to god that we don't catch anymore "breaks" like that this year.

True, but that play clock thing, and their star player conveniently becoming injured... that was pretty fortunate, but hey, you win some; you lose some. On the other hand, even a Titans player believes that we should have won the first game so I guess what goes around comes around.

Who WASN'T injured on our side of the ball before that game? Also if I recall that game produced a lot of injuries on both sides of the ball.

Wow, we apparently caught a lot of "breaks" last year. 'Cause ya know, having the second most amount of injured players, having all of our key starters suffering but playing through one injury or another, having two games during the regular season *stolen* from us by referees, being forced to play a rookie QB for the entirety of the season(who was great obviously, but still when you look at it from outside the box it's a pretty undesirable situation), wow NFL Network's analysts are retarded.

I'd write them a lengthy e-mail made up of several posts from this thread but I doubt they'd read it.

I don't understand why people are predicting we are going to lose at least one or both games against pittsburg

Last year two out of the three games ( except the AFC Champion ship game)were so close and they could have gone either way. First game we lost it rather than they won..

I am tired of being loosing to Colts. And lets hope this is the year where we are turning things around when it comes to beating good teams consistently..

Here is what i am predicting..

Week 1: vs. Kansas City, 1 p.m. Win
Week 2: at San Diego, 4:15 p.m. Not sure
Week 3: vs. Cleveland, 1 p.m. Win
Week 4: at New England, 1 p.m. Loss
Week 5: vs. Cincinnati, 1 p.m. Win
Week 6: at Minnesota, 1 p.m. Win
Week 7: BYE
Week 8: vs. Denver, 1 p.m. Win
Week 9: at Cincinnati, 1 p.m. Win
Week 10: at Cleveland, 8:30 p.m. Win
Week 11: vs. Indianapolis, 1 p.m. Not sure
Week 12: vs. Pittsburgh, 8:20 p.m. WIN
Week 13: at Green Bay, 8:30 p.m. Win
Week 14: vs. Detroit, 1 p.m. Win
Week 15: vs. Chicago, 1 p.m. Win (Watch last year game against Patriots that's what Cutler can do outside AFC West)
Week 16: at Pittsburgh, 1 p.m. Not Sure
Week 17: at Oakland, 4:15 p.m. Win

Go Ravens...

First of all thanks for pointing out the typo.. I need to figure out a way to change the user name..

The First ever football game i watched is Superbowl 2005 . I partially watched the game without knowing the rules or anything..By the way i came to this country only few months before and the only football i knew/followed was soccer..

2006 is when i started following Ravens and i really liked the flair with which ravens defense plays. At one point i was hoping the ravens and pats won't meet before the AFC championship game..Unfortunately neither went to the superbowl.

I follow both team's fans forums and haven't registered to any till today..while following this thread i read past few post where people are giving up on games to pittsburg and registered in a hurry to reply to those posts...that's the whole background..

Pats were really lucky to get away with a win..I still don't think Jabbar Goffney ( or who ever) caught that last touchdown has total control of the ball..

I am sure the patriots have a big following in other countries, so I can see how you would be a fan of them. Good to see that the Ravens caught your eye. You gotta love smashmouth football if you're gonna love the Ravens. Unfortunately, we don't like the patriots, mainly because of the 2007 game where we SHOULD have handed them their one and only regular season loss. At least you don't root for the Steelers though.
