2009 Record Predictions?

12-4

We better beat pittsburgh at home on Sunday night. I dropped WWWAAAAYYYY to much coin to fly home and see my first game at M&T for us to lose.

I just bought this for inspiration!

For everyone saying we are going to lose to the Colts theres hope. Peyton Manning isn't getting any younger. With any luck in a few years just as Flacco is really hitting his stride Manning will be on the decline. We can stockpile our wins then while the Colts have their own QB struggles. But so help me if they get a quick replacement like Pittsburg did I'll scream.

i say we can def go 13-3 if we stay healthy thats a big problem for us lately but i def got us winning 12 no matter what i think we win our division this year and hopefully make a serious push at the ship cuz we get alot of key people back this year who wasnt there n we get healthier players who were a little banged up during the season i look forward to turning alot of heads with our teams play this year n have the networks stunned.
We have a much easier schedule this year and improved our team in every position minus linebacker(which is an easy position to build someone for this organization), so I'm willing to say we'll go 12-4, with one loss to the Steelers, a loss to the Patriots, a loss to the Colts, and a wildcard loss to an unknown team bound to bust out this season(No not the Vikings, Bears, or Broncos...).
I dont know how much easier our schedule is. We are ghoing to face a bunch of teams i think will improve. Chiefs, Lions (cant get any worse), bengals (if carson is healthy) just to name a few. I also think we are better at linebacker. We only lost bart scott and i didnt think he was think good. If anything i feel we are a little deeper at that position.

I think this all depends on Flacco. If he develops and improves i think we will win the division at 11-5. If he doesnt then Steelers will win the division and we will go 10-6

I agree, 11 and 5 sounds about right..

I see us improving on last year. If we can split the series with Pittsburgh and go 12-4, to me thats an improvement.

Whatever the record is... I still think Pittsburgh sweeps us as I don't feel we have done the right things this offseason so far to change anything in those games.

I think the Colts will be another loss. Sure, Peyton and their offense isn't exactly what it once was... but ummm, neither is the Ravens defense in case you forgot all those game winning drives they gave up last season?!?! And now we're banking on Dominique Foxworth being a shut-down corner?

I do disagree that the Patriots will be an automatic loss. I think we'll be able to run on them all day, just like last time. And now we don't have Boller to give them the ball back when we are in field goal range.

So to put my thoughts into numbers:

12-4
2 losses to Pittsburgh
1 loss to Colts
1 loss to some random team, since there's bound to be a slip-up/let-down or, knowing the Raven history with officials, a bad call. haha

Manning isnt getting any worse though. Over 4,000 yards, a 95 rating, and 27 touchdowns.. And do you seriously think the Colts will have QB struggles? You've got to be kidding.. Peytons only "bad" year was his rookie year.. You show me another year Peyton didnt play at a relatively high level.. Peyton is only 33.. Its not like hes 39 like Jeff Garcia.. Garcia even plays at a high level despite his age, so the age factor on Manning isnt a very good argument..

Yeah Peyton Manning will be the proverbial thorn in our side for years to come it looks like.

I've only ever seen one game versus the Colts. What exactly is it about them that makes our team look so pathetic?

In previous years, the Colts have had 2 pro bowl wide outs, a good receiving tight end, and not too bad of a running game since Addai was drafted.. Now they've gotten rid of Harrison(i think he'll end up signing with them anyway) and they still have Reggie Wayne whos a pro-bowler and Anthony Gonzalez who WILL be a pro-bowler next year if Harrison doesnt come back.. The Colts are an offense first team so every year they've got one of the best offenses, but their main knock is their defense.. They're pretty much the opposite of the Ravens..

Defense wins championships. Unless you're playing Peyton Manning.
I don't see us looseing to the colts again. Harrison is the one who constantly beat our D and with him out of the picture, Manning has to grow a relationship with another WR. I see us shutting down the colts this year.
Amen, brother. I'm all for that. Perhaps this will be our break-out season and destroy the Colts and Pittsburgh.

10-6 at the worst, but the optimist in me says 12-4 and tied atop the AFC North with the Steelers.

I'll reach and say we go 12-4 this year, improving on last years performance. How many games did we lose in '08 by a field goal? I think we push over the hump and have a very solid year.

To me, 10-6 would be what i would bet on, and I have no doubt we can do better than that...let's just take into account that the teams that played sucky last year, might not play sucky this year.

Ex. 1: The Chiefs. They improved vastly in two positions, Quarterback and D-line. They got Matt Cassel, and drafted 2 d-linemen (one end and one tackle. ) They can end up being this year's version of the Saints.

Ex. 2: The Lions. Yes, the lions. Okay, so Matthew Stafford may start out horrible. but what if he doesn't? What if he can consistantly connect with his receivers and build something with Brandon Pettigrew? they can end up to be a lot better than last season.

Ex. 3: The Raiders. Jamarcus Russel, the former 1st overall pick, flashed some of his ability in the 2nd half of the season, most notably his last 3. He had a 92 QB rating his last 7 games (average), and a 104 rating his last 3 games. If he can improve from that, and add that with a mastermind in Rob Ryan (defensive coordinator) and a dominant running attack, they can end up to be the Raiders of old. (yea, a REAL long time ago :P).

There are probably other teams which can end up to be better than last season when we play them this season. it won't be easy. hopefully the ravens have improved themselves, too...but either way we're probably gonna go to the playoffs again.

Two things stand out at me here

1) you mean your thinking stafford's best target is going to be brandon pettigrew.... the TE..... or are you talking about Calvin Johnson, 1 of 4 top 4 WR's in the league today (Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson and Randy Moss are the other 3)
2) and you mean the same rob ryan who is now the Browns DC?

EDIT = #2

That'd be sweet but I'd rather beat the steelers this year than the colts.

I would blame that moreso on his defense as of late..

1. well i would think that brandon pettigrew is a safe target seeing that he is a TE and basically any good te is a security blanket for a QB. But Calvin johnson will probably get most of the stats.

2. OH, my bad...didn't kno that :(
guess that means the Browns' D might fare better...

Well a huge turnaround might not be in the Lions future. Here's hoping it does happen to the Steelers. :)
