St Louis Rams Draft

i just looked around the web and looked up the rams homepage for their depth chart, because i have them in the boards mock draft

I saw they drafted James Laurinaitis at first i thought ok and then i started thinking again and noticed that rey maualuga was taken by the bengals with the 6th selection in the 2nd round, 3 spots after st louis

and the question I am asking myself right now:

I mean James is a solid ILB, and i think he could be good in the pros, but c

Honestly, I don't see how you can take James over Rey, but Spagnuolo is a defensive coach and he must like what he sees in James more than Rey, somehow. James was always a high level linebacker, but nothing spectacular, so he got overlooked, I think he will be a solid pro, so I don't think its that bad of a pick.

I think Larunitas is more of a 3 down LB. Very instinctive and aware. But Maulauga is a hitter and he has a presence on the field like great player almost intimidating. That said i believe the Rams are running a 4-3 and maybe that had to do with that.
