Sorta saw that coming. Cam Cameron likes Beck so he was sure to make the team. Since we weren't going to have 4 QB's on the roster that meant cutting either Bouman or Smith and theres no way we cut a young, multitalented former Heisman Trophy winner who can run the wildcat formation in favor of an aging career backup.

I wish him well. I'd heard that he was a big help with Flacco - giving the rookie some experienced advice or whatnot. Maybe this happens a lot in the NFL, but I get a warm, fuzzy feeling when I hear that a player that doesn't get to play is supportive of the player that does. When you think about it, if someone got the promotion you wanted at your job, would you be so helpful and supportive? We've had both Bouman and Boller, and I wouldn't doubt McNair was like that, too.

Its better than an old ****** dude that probably has no arm strength. 3 years is all you need

Any chance for a super wild cat package where Troy, Beck, and Joe are all on the field at the same time....
That would be Crazzzzzzzzy! (not to mention unheard of)

Although I don't like this decision I understand it. 9 times out of 10 we are going to lose Troy next season (unless the uncapped season happens, which means he wouldnt be an unrestricted free agent for another two years) so we are looking for a younger 3rd string qb to start learning the system this year behind Flacco and Smith. As much as a help Bouman and Boller were to Flacco, I understand it but don't necessarily like it. so I would say Beck will be, being groomed this year to be the #2 if/when Troy gets his shot at starting elsewhere.

I could have SWORN by the way everyone was talking that Troy Smith was the one who was suppose to be cut??

Now lets be honest folks, do you really think John re-Beck-a is gonna beat out Troy Smith for the back up QB role?

B4 you feel incline to reply put the alcohol laced haterade down...

By the way...can we come up with a new term for hater? Haterade is starting to get played out...in fact, I think it died back in '07. But really it's the only thing that works efficiently. We need to coin a new term. Somebody get on that!

Troy had a slower 40 than Boller. What is his nickname: Michael Vick light.

How about Beck or Troy throws and Flacco can run and catch. (Like Oakland)

On second thought, I think I'll just concentrate on our #1 guy: #5

I remember hearing somewhere he had a positive impact on Flacco's growth. Although Flacco has the right temperament to play QB, I still think the team needs a veteran QB to provide guidance.

I remember hearing that everywhere. Bouman and even Boller were always mentoring Joe last year (no other qbs apparently;but I won't mention any names). Now both of them are gone...

I figured this would happen at some point, with signing beck and willy from buffalo.

kind of weird that they would sign beck, since bouman just resigned

uhm why do 40 times matter for a QB.... usually just the surprise of him running out will make up for it

you'd be more worried about receiving abilities
Troy ran a 4.6, Boller ran a 4.61 and Flacco ran a 4.98 lol
That's weird. I could have sworn that Flacco ran a 4.7 at the combine.

Edit: Found it.
