let the niners give up the same thing the vikings gave up for jared allen.
i love suggs but if he wants to break our bank, let's trade him before we lose him next year and get nothing in return when he flies away to the highest bidder.
whatever happened to the "hometown discount"?

I dont think suggs thinks much when he speaks...first he talked about the "bounty" issue which got him in trouble...now the "hometown discount" excitement. lol :P
Because Boldin would cost just as much as suggs.... I would love to have boldin but im more concerned about our FAs after this season that dont have an ovver inflated sense of self worth
But if that's really the issue then why did we try to make a trade for Boldin in the 1st place?

If we landed him obviously we would have had to pay him $$, regardless if we kept Suggs or not...so if the whole issue around Suggs is money...and people are suggesting we trade him for a 1st round pick...then why didn't we just trade Suggs for Boldin?

Answer: Bcuz Suggs isn't on the trading block. Especially for just a meager 1st round pick. If Suggs was on the trading block that would mean other teams would be informed, leaks would have gotten out by now to insiders, and all the major sports media networks would have already reported it. If we've waited this long to sign Suggs, why would we trade him now AFTER the draft where we would get no immediate return from the deal?

Also, just to take it a lil further as to why we didn't trade Suggs for Boldin bcuz of $$ issues, there's a difference in 4 yrs $35million (Boldin) and 7 years $80 million (Suggs). And plus, by trading Suggs we would clear $10 Million in cap space because of the Franchise tag; easily giving us enough room to sign Boldin.

Does anyone really want to see Suggs go. He turns 27 and still doesn't seem to have reached his peak.

I want to see him sign a long-term contract. Otherwise, the Ravens cannot afford to keep tagging him... so trade him, but make it count.

i want suggs to remain a raven but on a deal like a 6 year 60 million dollar deal with 31 mil guarnteed but he turned that down so i want us to trade him, McClain is the real deal and will be an amazing player for us

Trade him for a good player, who cares how good he is the guy wants to get paid and we're not in the position to pay him. He is not going to stay considering how much other teams want him so we might as well get some compensation for him...

Simple logic.

I agree some of the trades posted in this thread are unrealistic. If Suggs really wanted to work out a deal "Hometown Discount" or not I think Ozzy would have gotten it done already. Sign him already and stop using the francise tag on him which is costing more every time.

Im confident a deal will get done. Think about it. The only reason he hasn't gotten a deal done before this is because there has been other HUGE needs to fill.

What Suggs did against the Steelers in the AFC 'ship proved how good a player he is and how much he wants to win. This team needs him.
What does suggs want? Werent the ravens offering top defensive player money for him?
He has turned down contracts 3 years in a row- not sure what he wants. But the fact he touts around about a home town discount and then refuses contract offers 3 years in a row is ridiculous. At this point I could care less about him being a Raven.

Well i dont know what else the ravens can do. He is a valuable player for the ravens, but we don't spend money like the redskins. Maybe Kruger can take over suggs position.

Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome doesn't anticipate franchise player Terrell Suggs reporting for minicamps.
Fantasy spin: "I don't anticipate him being here in that he hasn't signed the ($10.164 million) tender yet," Newsome said. Negotiations are ongoing, but nothing is imminent.
Source: Carroll County Times

I hate when players dont show up for minicamps and stuff. I feel like they are throwing a temper tantrum

I don't really want to think about what next season will be like if we have lost not one, but two starting linebackers, but Suggs needs to sign that contract and move on. If he doesn't, I think we should trade him while we still can. If this gets drawn out more, then other teams will realize the Ravens have to get rid him and he won't have much trade value. Let's get what we can while we still can.
