Merged Suggs To Sf Rumors/discussion Threads

113 posts in this topic

id do it for there first and 3rd or first and 4th
Suggs is great but we can teach up McClain just like we taught Suggs, evryone raves about Barnes potential so why not see what he can do.

Then next year we can get a defenseive lineman and WR in the first round and wed be set for a long time

id do it if i where ozzie, i remember this time lst year everyone wanted to trade suggs for what he did

Neither of those players can be traded because they are not under contract. Until, they actually sign those franchise tenders, the Ravens and Panthers are not even allowed to discuss the possibility of trading them.

Are yall crazy????

We're not trading Suggs. Especially for just a 1st round pick.

If we were entertaining trading a 1st round pick to the Cardinals for Boldin...

and we're interested in trading Suggs for a 1st round pick...

Why didn't we trade Suggs for Boldin?

Forget that logic...WHY WOULD WE TRADE THE BEST HYBRID BACKER IN THE GAME???

The off season hallucinations are strong this year. Being deprived of football for 2 whole months is really starting to have its affect on peoples thought process.

At least, Suggs is worth 2 1st round picks. He's only 26 years old and already has 6 years experience. That kinda value is priceless folks.

trade him for a first and crabtree and then send that first rounder and a third rounder to az for boldin lol. Boldin, Mason, Clayton, and Crabby. mcgahee, mcclain and rice. One of the best young offensive lines in football, and of course our boy Flac. sounds good to me! only joking folks...

The 'Niners can have him and his contract. He will probably be like other linebackers who leave us and don't shine anywhere else. As good as he is, he is most likely a product of our system, which has undeniably produced awesome linebackers time and time again and will continue to do so when he is gone. However, I think San Fransisco could be fooled into giving us more than a first rounder for him. Although, to be fair, their pick should be low (or high, depening on your perspective) which is tempting.

Thanks, Ravens IQ, for stating the obvious. Why would we consider trading Suggs??? Loved the part about the offseason hallucinations LOL

I believe Suggs will not resign with us after next year...

Did you guys hear that the New Orlean Saints have offered us a 1st round pick for Ed Reed?

I think Ozzie is gonna take it so next year we can draft a WR!!

But I think we should try to get more out of them...how about 1st + Pierre Thomas (RB) + Billy Miller (TE) then we could trade Ray Rice + Todd Heap for Anquan Boldin

and we would have

1st round WR (NEXT YEAR) + Mason + Boldin + Clayton

OMG I'm so excited!!

And while we're at it we should trade all our good players for draft picks so hopefully we can draft players that will one day be as good as the players we just traded that we once drafted...cuz the whole point to the draft is to find players like Terrell Suggs and Ed Reed that way you can trade them a couple years later for more picks! And eventually if we keep trading all our good players we''ll get enough draft picks to build a good team and hopefully that team will become as good as this team is right now and we'll be able to make a superbowl run like we're trying to do this year with the players we once drafted...YEAH!!!

Again the whole point to drafting players is to hopefully find a guy like Terrell Suggs...so now that we have him and he's in his prime why would we trade him for picks in hopes to find another player like him in future drafts?

1st round pick? What the hell are we supposed to do with that? Pick somebody and then HOPE that in a few years he becomes close the player that Suggs is? Last time i checked our GM was not named Matt Millen, so this is not going to happen.

We already lost Bart Scott. Ray is getting old. Suggs is not going anywhere, stop with these moronic rumors already that are based on nothing. If San Fran really wants him they better hook us up with both their 1st round picks. Roy Williams went for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd i believe and Suggs is 5 times the player he is.

What? Ed Reed to Saints, for 1st round pick, where did you hear that nonsense? They would have to give up half of the team, including Reggie Bush and a lot of draft picks with it, NO WAY !!! I don't care about any of 1st round draft picks, there is only ONE
Ed Reed. I think you've been smoking something, that's why, u r high, la da da da !!!???

That's what I was thinking... I think. Except for one thing: in my mind there is punctuation and spelling.

Despite his talk about wanting to play in Baltimore and suggesting a hometwon discount last year, the man refuses to sign a contract. If he keeps this up, the Ravens are either going to have to pay a huge price for yet another franchise tag or simply let him hit free agency. If we trade him now, he can be someone else's problem and we can get something in return.

Ware is a pass rusher. One of the best. He isn't a coverage guy.

I think suggs and the ravens will reach an agreement soon. Suggs is a vital part to this defense and if he left we would have a big dropoff of talent and our defensive schemes would change drastically. His two sacks with a seperated shoulder against the steelers reminded me how important he is to our team.

I'm all for trading Suggs because signing him to the contract he demands will hurt this team's ability to resign other players and sign new players. But we wouldn't trade Suggs for just 1 of their first round picks. With teams like the Cards and the Lions initially demanding 2 first round picks for their WRs (and the Cards may have been justified in doing so with a player of Boldin's caliber), we have the right to demand 2 first round picks. Suggs value is much higher than WRs. Pass rushers are hard to find in the NFL and even though i don't consider Suggs "elite", the hype around him currently suggests that he is, making 2 first round picks for Suggs all the more justifiable. Suggs was a top 10 draft pick to begin with, it would be hardly worth it to trade him just for a first round draft pick. The 49ers can either give us both their first round picks or package some good players for him.

I doubt highly that anyone would give 2 first round draft picks. I dont think we would get enough in return to trade him. Suggs is an elite player. With him we can create different defensive looks and he can do anything. I'm surprised suggs doesnt get that much respect when this is his third season going to the pro bowl.

No. If we can't get him signed to a long term deal this season, tag him again next offseason and trade him for two firsts, or a first and a second.
From a business standpoint, do it...

Suggs is like my third favorite player, but for a first rounder, why not? Besides, I don't see him resigning with us again next year, so why not get something out of him now. We could have McClain or Barnes start in his place, and Gooden start in Scott's vacant position at 2nd MLB. Our run defense will fall off, but we would still be top 10 against the run.

We could use the 1st round pick next year (San Fran isn't getting anywhere, so it could be a top 15 pick).

Its a good business move...
This is not a good business move, think about it, unless oz trades back with that pick we will have to pay that guy alot of money depending on the position drafted. Yes, it would free up some money and trade possibilities for a "big play" receiver but we lose a key member of our defense, a guy that will play injured and be willing, well kinda willing to play for less, and gain an expensive unproven rookie with san frans pick along with the rookie we get with our pick. I say lock suggs up long term, and get cap space that way.
