What does that mean, secound from the bottom it says
The San Francisco 49ers have not engaged in discussions regarding Julius Peppers and Terrell Suggs, according to General Manager Scot McCloughan.
I know it says they havent discussed but does this mean that ozzie has said he can be traded for the right price or something, is he on the block, comparing him to Julius Peppers who every one knows wants out scares me a bit. :o

Thoughts on this

It says it wasn't discussed - but, with those words, it's assumed it's possible.

Of course, the truth is, everyone is "on the block", at all times - for the right price. Just like they say at contract time, "it's a business"...

Profootballtalk.com is a bunch of hacks. I wouldn't pay any attention to it.

Find it hard to believe that the Ravens would let Suggs go!

well IMO if suggs doesnt get 10 + sacks this year id like to trade him for a 1st round pick. Yes i know he is more than jsut a pass rusher but when he came out he was a liability against the run and pass but we tought him up so why cant we teach up other guys. Suggs is a great run stopper and one of the best against the pass from a 3-4 OLB standpoint but we need a pass rushing monster to generate pressure every play, Suggs cant do that when he is one on one.

So unless he gets 10 sacks this year i say we tarde him next year for a first and then draft a WR and OLB in the first round

Round 1 (from SF) - Arelious Benn
Round 1 (BAL) - Sergio Kindle

Suggs is a great player but he wants too much and he doesnt give us enough IMO to warrant 80 million dollars

Maybe with Peppers being Franchised and rumors flying around that he's available for trade, people assume Suggs is as well?

The first I've ever heard of it, doubt there's any real substance to the rumor. But then again maybe negotiations are so far apart between the 2 sides that the Ravens aren't willing to pay that much $$ to Suggs? It could be possible, but I highly doubt it.

It means some moron beat writer brought up a bunch of names of guys that could be available via trade and the GM said those names never came up. You're overreacting a little bit. If Ozzie wanted to trade Suggs he would make it public in order to get the best offer he can, and not keep it secret so that nobody knows about it.

I personally wish he was, I feel he is way overrated for the amount of money he wants. He is not worth 10 mill a year, period. He does deserve a payday but no more then 6-7 maybe.

It would take a heavy price to do it..

Although if we were.. I would pray that Crabtree would be thrown in..

I would do it if we got Patrick Willis in Return. He would then bring another great name to 52 after ray left.

From a business standpoint, do it...

Suggs is like my third favorite player, but for a first rounder, why not? Besides, I don't see him resigning with us again next year, so why not get something out of him now. We could have McClain or Barnes start in his place, and Gooden start in Scott's vacant position at 2nd MLB. Our run defense will fall off, but we would still be top 10 against the run.

We could use the 1st round pick next year (San Fran isn't getting anywhere, so it could be a top 15 pick).

Its a good business move...

Anita was reading/stating it as a rumor from online, its been on the net making the rounds for a few days.

Well it also depends on which first rounder we get aswell. Does anyone know who the other first rounder is from?

if everyone is sold on kruger being a solid pick i would do it in a heart beat but i dont see that happening i think we should keep suggs unless we get more picks or a player n picks cuz d-line was on e of our weaknesse even though gregg was hurt but with him back we slide nagata over to de n make this move happen which would prob give us a top 10 pick cuz sf still sux with or without suggs so if suggs dont want our money were offering i say pull the trigger so he dont walk for nothing in return

I agree. Suggs is a great player, and I love the dude as a person. But we cant keep tagging him and if we cant get a deal soon we are screwed. The only thing we will have is a 3rd round comp for the 2011 draft.

Lets try and get the deal done but if its a no go by training camp, just send him packing. We got guys who can step up.

The only reason this makes sense is because Mike Singletary is the 49ers head coach, and coached Terrell Suggs during his time in Baltimore as the linebackers coach from 2003-2004 (Suggs' first two seasons). Singletary knows linebackers, and that defense front seven would be unstoppable on the strength of Patrick Willis, Manny Lawson, and Takeo Spikes alone, along with Justin Smith at DE. Terrell Suggs as the hybrid 'backer/end would just be the icing on the cake.

This isnt going to happen. If we were going to trade Sizzle, he would be in Arizona right now and Boldin would be here.

thats not true cuz arizona dont want to break the bank on boldin why would they break the bank on suggs n the same for us if we want to tie that much money up we would sign suggs so the boldin thing is def dead now
