that was also the game Mason threw his helmet into the tunnel on the way out right? I remember quite a few of our players being extremely mad walking off the field.

Wasn't blaming Bert for the loss, but his throwing the flag into the stands was uncalled for

The most heartbreaking loss for me was the 2004 playoff game vs the Titans. It was the first playoff game, I had ever gone.

The best win was probably the Dallas game this year. Nothing beats shutting Texas stadium down Baltimore style.

Playoff game vs the Colts a couple of years ago where we held Peyton Manning without a touchdown the hole game and still couldn't win it.

Worst loss is the playoff game against the Colts in 2006. It was clear that if we didn't have to play the Colts, we were going to win our 2nd Super Bowl. No other team would have been able to handle the Ravens that year. And that was probably when the Colts were all in the prime.

So we hold them to... 5 total field goals. AND... not only did the defense hold them to 5 field goals, but most of them were pretty far back:

After looking at box score from that game: 51 yards(bounced off the crossbar to go in), 48 yards, 42 yards, 35 yards, and an easy 23 yarder.

And then... Brian Billick's refusal to give Jamal Lewis the ball! 53 yards on 13 carries. 13 CARRIES! In a one score game! Just flippin ridiculous. McNair ends up throwing an interception when we are on the Colts 5 yard line. That should have been Jamal's carry. Anyway, yeah... that has to be the worst loss I ever had to experience as a Ravens fan.

The Patriots game was a close second, but by then... I had been used to seeing the "officials" blatantly cheat the Ravens(remember the Lions game in 2005 I believe it was?) And... the Patriots COULD NOT STOP THE RUN ALL NIGHT, and yet... Billick decides he is going to put the game in Kyle Bollers hands. We have the lead... we are past midfield on the Patriots side of the field. It is late in the 3rd quarter, and what do we do? Do we keep running? Chew up the clock? No... we let Boller throw downfield... where there are 3 Patriots players. And yes, they intercept it. Our defense had to be demoralized right then and there. So yeah, I had seen that from Boller before, and that season was a waste anyway before that game even was played, so I can't put it in the same category.

If we beat the Colts in 2006, we were going to the Super Bowl and we were going to win it.

And as for the BEST experience as a Ravens fan? I loved watching Jamal run for over 2000 yards... only to have Billick hold him out of the last game and a half when he was so close to breaking Dickerson's all time record. The comeback against Seattle where Anthony Wright threw 4 TDs to Marcus Robinson was awesome too, because the stadium had emptied out at halftime.... and then near the end of the 4th quarter it started filling back up. And then the year we completely destroyed the Steelers twice, that was fun. Nothing will top that Super Bowl year though. Especially Jermaine Lewis and everything he went though, and then to be able to pay tribute to his son on the biggest stage possible... it was awesome.

Most Heartbreaking Loss -
Steelers @ Ravens 08
I was at this game, I remember putting my hands over my eyes when Roethlisberger threw that pass. I've never heard so much profanity afterwords walking back to our car. Very heartbreaking loss, especially to be at that game was tough.
Pats @ Ravens 07
I remember watching that game with so much hope. We got screwed in that game big time. It was Kyle Bollers last stand, and it showed the Potential that he, and that team had that season. Had we not been hit by the injury bug so hard, and had some calls go against us, we couldve been a playoff contender.
Colts @ Ravens Playoffs 06
I was at this game also. Horrible to watch. Steve McNair looked Hungover in that game. Interception on the Five yard line, Jamal not getting the ball, just horrible. The defense held the best offense to 5 field goals, and our O cant score One Touchdown? Very heartbreaking.
Most Triumphant Wins -
Super Bowl 35
Of course this has to be number one :) . This proved to everyone how dominant our defense was in 2000, and that we had the best defense in the history of football.
Ravens @ Titans Playoffs 08 and 00
Had to include both of these games. The 08 game was just a grind it out, hard nosed, Baltimore style win, great defense, and it was just an all around fun night to be a Baltimore football fan. The 2000 game was just a great win for the city, and it stuck it to one of our biggest rivals at the time.
Steelers @ Ravens 06
Ben Roethlisberger getting flat out leveled, Beating the Steelers 27-0, cant get much sweeter than that, can it?
Ravens @ Cowboys 08
This game just proved everyone wrong, we were picked to lose this game by EVERYONE , and it showed the heart that this team has [Player of the Game = Derrick Mason]

What was it that the refs said to Samari, again? And in all honesty, Bart's meltdown did not change the outcome of the game either way. If anything, it was a relieving and therapeutic feeling to know that the players were as angry and frustrated and as emotionally invested in the game as the fans were. That was probably the angriest I've ever been about a loss. I was at the game and I remember stomping out my cupholder after Gaffney caught that TD.

honestly that patriots loss hurt more than the dolphins one, before the giants in the SB we came the closest to beating the pats.... we ended somewhere between there 1-5 yd line if i remember correctly w/ that hail mary

EDIT:

The thing that angered me about billick was when we did play the dolphins, we could have beat them for going for it on 4th down, and billick said something like "I'm the coach here" or something like that

As Ravens fans, we deal with many.....many heartbreaking losses. It always comes down to the reffing which just makes it harder. Over the past two years we have had the following games come down to the wire/ref call.
2007 - @ Cin opener with the Heap offensive interference, Cleveland home game (FG), NE home game
2008 - Ten home game, Pit home

They all hurt. However, I'd say the most painful loss I've ever experienced was the Colts Playoff game. Just grueling. That was our season. A home AFC Championship game waiting. And SM just plain choked. Defense did their job, and the offensive gave nothing. The interception in the endzone in the first half (right in front of my seats) could be seen coming a mile away. It just set up one of the worst days of my life.

Triumphant win? For me, that's easy. 2000 Divisional win over the Titans. Amazing game. We literally stole the Super Bowl from them that year.

Best game ever for me has to be Jan 28th 2001 against the Giants, Yep the superbowl. We blew them away so bad and it felt so good. the Only TD they got was from ST. Of course the most heartbreaking loss is probally the Pats loss. In such a horrable season, and having Kyle Boller of all QB's taking the undeafted Pats down to the last min was great, then to lose it on some Iffy calls hurt. Its a Tossup between that the AFC championship game this past season. And also the divional game against the Colts in 06. I thought 06 was our year, we just seemed so great in the clutch, and everything that year seemed to go right. The AFC championship game last year hurt so bad because it was the Steelers for one, they beat us twice in the season already, and with a rookie QB and HC it just seemed like there was nothing that could drag is down. Maybe because the Bye week screwed us is the only reason I believe.
As a die-hard fan of a professional sports team, u are going to go through some awesome wins, and very dissapointing losses. as Ravens fans over the years, what has been the most heartbreaking loss, and the most triumphant win for you? Heres mine:

Most heartbreaking loss:

For me this came down to two. The second game vs. Pittsburgh this season or this magical Monday Night that came to a terrible ending and i chose........

December 3, 2007

Patriots 27 Ravens 24

Wow. What an amazing night. 70,000+ packed M&T Bank Stadium as the Ravens attempted to black out Tom Brady and the 11-0?? New England Patriots. The Ravens led most of the night and i was more excited than ever. But, at the end of the game it seemed as though nothing was going to stop New England from going undefeated as the refs were giving the Patriots EVERY call possible!! Jabar Gaffney makes the game winning TD "catch" and New England barely escapes with a win for the second straight week. IM still thoroughly pissed off about this game.
I have never been sooo mad at one team until that game!!!

Favorite game that I saw on TV was the SuperBowl! But the favorite game that I went to was the one in Cincinnati last year. We practically murdered them. My brother (Cowboys fan) and I went with the tickets I got for $20 total on ebay...thats right $20 for 2 tickets that were about 30 rows from the Ravens sidelines. :D What was even better was about 75% of the stadium left by halftime so we just kept moving up until we were in the 1st row in the direct middle of the ravens sidelines. It was awesome, saying "whats up" to numerous player. Pryce, Scott, Koch, all acknowledged us and Flacco even flashed us his million dollar smile after we got his attention. And to top it all off, I had a hunch and let my brother wear my black Clayton jersey. And he just happened to have the game of his life at the Pro level. I even turned him into a Clayton fan, although I am still working on getting him to be a full out ravens fan. But needless to say it was the best $20 I have ever spent. :P

As for worst loss, it is easily the loss to the Colts in the playoffs a few years back. All we had to do was win that game and we would of been on our way to easily getting our second super bowl ring. I know the one to the patriots stung, but not much was on the line for that game as compared to the Colts loss.

The worst loss is a toss between the Patriots game (real emotional after ST's death) or one of the three we couldnt win against the steelers. That should have been us playing the Cards!

Best game besides the superbowl obviously was the shut out of Steelers in 2006 where Batch had to come in cuz Ben was knocked the hell out.

The playoff game against Titans
Which one? Personally I think that the 1st one was the best. Does anyone else remember that far back. That must have been one of the first games I ever watched since I didn't start watching until the 2000 season.

The first win in Memorial Stadium against Napoleon Kaufman etc. against the Raiders was cool. The SuperBowl game, while monolithic in team history, wasn't necessarily a great game, being anticlimactic since it was clearly over after Stokley beat Sehorn for the TD.

The game where we can back with Flacco's arm and Ray Rice's shiftiness vs. Cleveland this year was one of our best wins, in terms of exciting come from behind plays. A poor man's version of the Marcus Robinson explosion vs. the Seahawks. Luckily, Cleveland's CB's looked like schoolkids vs. our wideouts.

One horrible game was the last of the 2002 season, where we were 7-8, but against all odds had a chance to make the playoffs if we beat the Steelers.

Like usual, we had them by the throat, but Chester Taylor's usually brilliant self fumbled a kickoff and it spiraled down from there.

Nothing beats the '06 playoff home game vs. the Colts, though. If and when we can beat that team, who like the Steelers have unfortunately owned us for the most part, I'll be a happy man.
