There You Go Boller!

20 posts in this topic

23/35 185 yards and 2 touchdowns. This is a huge improvement for him. He looked poised, didn't fumble, snaps were good, no interceptions.. The line was good not allowing any sacks. Just great all around, his only problem was not leading receivers, and throwing a little behind them, but all in all a great performance. He has shown himself this week!

And too bad McGahee couldn't pick up 3 more yards to make it 6 consecutive games against the jets with 100+ yards per game.

the jets worked hard to stop the run so props to them for a somewhat effective performance in that respect. I liked what I saw from Boller, as well as the recievers; they all responded well to the situation and made great plays to help him out. McGahee did alright, but its a shame there was a lack of any significant big play on his part. Heap looked AMAZING as well as more or less the entire defense, except a few blown coverages but hey we pulled away with a win despite injuries to key players. If we can fight through the pain like this and manage to pull out healthy come playoff time well.... get ready for a fun year :)

I didn't see much of the game but curious, I looked it was 17-3, next thing I see it's 20-13 and the Jets almost tie it up for potential OT. What happened there?

Boller played a solid game... gotta give him some love... didnt turn the ball over and kept our D off the field to rest... and thats all we really need in most games... but 2 td's?? good stuff! Good to see Boller step up I mean you gotta admire him a little with all he's been through and still chosing to come back.... McGahee however.... hasnt yet impressed me.... seems like hes always running into the D instead of around them... we ran him outside and he hit the corner perfectly 10yard gain i think... plus the TD pass was beautiful.... but that was it... we went back to pounding him up the middle... I would love to see Mcgahee used more on the outside or in little screen passes or bootlegs... (not saying McGahee is doing bad but I feel he should be doing a little more)

He got a few yards up the gut, but overall his presence has been more important. Opposing D's have to respect his ability in the flats. This is not a pound it up the gut runner. If you want a J.Lew, you're not gonna get it. McGahee is more diverse and will spread the D, opening up the passing game. Give it a little more time and we'll be putting up some good numbers on the scoreboard.

Boller had on OUTSTANDING game going for 22 of 35 passes for 185 yards and 2 TD's, he really seemed like he was poised in the pocket...more so than his previous years as starter, he wasnt making dumb decisions by trying to make something when there is nothing there, he was smart and deligent in the fact that if he didnt see anything, he just dumped it off to McGahee and a reciever close by and manged to get at least SOME yardage....McGahee had a good game as well, rushing for 97 yards and recieving for yardage as well....our defense as extremely stout...notching 4 sacks against the !st year starting QB (for that game) and intercepting him 2 times...first was Ed Reed with a Pick in the first half of the game, the other was in the 4th quarter with about 1:05 remaining and the Jets were inside the 10 yard line, when Big Ray Ray intercepted the game ending ball.....Ray (i might add) is playing GREAT!, he had 7 tackles and 1 INT in this game, is it just me or does Ray seem to be having another Pro Bowl Season going on here :):):):)

Still not a Boller fan until I see him play well on the road. And play at least two more games as well as he did last night. Then and only then will I believe he has actually changed and is a GREAT backup to have on the team!. I don't understand how you all can be sold on him after only 1 game. He played well 1 game last year against Carolina even though we lost but got in their I thought another time last year and did quite bad or maybe I am wrong on that all together. But I am not sold by watching him do good in pre-season against second stringers and 1 regular season game and against a not so good team also.

Like I said I will give him to prove to me 2 more good games and 1 needs to be on the road to decide if has changed or if he is the same old Kyle Boller. I give him props for last night but go out and prove it to me two or three more times and me and my pops are sold on you.

The McGahee part being that I was wearing his Authentic yesterday all I thought about all game was him picking up his 100 consecutive run again, against the Jets. they were not letting him run the ball a lot on plays that looked like they should have been run plays and instead threw the ball. THEY should have let him get his 100 yards I think Billick put Musa in a few times when he should have let McGahee stay in to get his 100 yards again!!. McGahee is my all time favorite RB and I want him happy here and I am sure yesterday he wasn't to happy with the carries he got. He deserves 30 carries in my opinion we spent way to much on him as well and he is a hell of a RB we need to stop changing our offensive style to mainly pass. We use to DO great running the ball down the other teams THROAT. In my opinion we are still a running team!!, we need to fire the back burners back up and run the ball down their THROATS!!. Less pass more RUN and McGahee will not let US DOWN!!. I want the guy happy to be here he deserved MORE CARRIES!!!!!!!!!. He will show he can break them tackles for 70-80 yard runs.

Soon enough, you'll see McGahee break away from the pack and get those Big Gains and TD's.....remember LT doesnt get fully going until around week 5-6....i have a strong feeling that McGahee will be breaking tackles and getting those TD's more often than not, his elusiveness is one of his key aspects, and his speed is another factor in which will help him out in the Ground game....it just might happen this week against the Cardinals...though they are getting alot better than they were, i dont think they will be able to contain McGahee for very long, im guessing he'll have about 125-130 yards, and a TD or 2 in that game (lil iffy on the TD's though seeing how Musa might be in at that point in time)...but I personally think that this will be another good game for him

i think that Billick doesnt want to "wear" him out....kinda like Jamal you know?....Billick wants him fresh and able to make plays for us and score...though he does seem to need the ball in his hands if he is to score haha :P McGahee's time is coming and i feel a BIG coming for him, at some point during this season he will just "bust out" and just go...

yeah i think in the future of this season those "bonehead plays" called by Billick will turn into big gains which will open up the run game for McGahee. Then people will start calling Billick a genius again and McGahee will get some respect. Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck.

I just don't feel McGahee will break out HUGE till next year or the year after as OUR OFFENSIVE LINE IMPROVES. There are a lot of young guys in their now so he isn't getting them nice holes to run threw like JAMAL is over in Cleveland. Must have been our O-line the whole time if Jamal busted 250yds against the Bengals whose D shut us down quite well. Bet he is having the laugh on us =/. Real quick throwing in for all the stuff I HATE ABOUT BOLLER I congradulate him on a nice WIN, just do it two or three more times for me and 1 of those times on the road and I will never say anything bad about you again :), prove to me your not Mr. hyper like you have ADHD.

(I seriously wonder by the way if he does have it (ADHD) and is now taken certain medications to keep him calm and collect in the game, so I hope those medicines don't go away or get lost, or run out to quick) I don't want to see you get on the field and start tripping all over and dropping the ball anymore, or throwing ERATICk passes.

Also going off subject! the way "Billick" calls his Rushing plays is HORRID I don't understand why he keeps expecting going straight up the middle is going to do something!? this isn't 2000 anymore Billick so stop rushing up the GUT, everyone knows Baltimore's RB's for running right up the GUT he needs to switch running plays up a bit.

SHEEEEEEEESH I wish I could sit down with Billick for 5 minutes. It's always up the middle never a swing to the outside or any type of reverses.

And on another note I know for a FACT J-Lew didn't get all them yards running right up the middle the whole game like Billick likes our RB's to do..

And I can tell you this McGahee will not like to be a Raven if Billick ruins his rushing yards by bone headed calls and not giving him enough carries. Buffalo was giving him more carries then we are!! and he hated Buffalo and wanted out with a passion so came here thinking he would be given the opportunity to prove how GREAT OF A BACK he is in the NFL if not the BEST as he says!!.

You don't think that will slowly start to simmer in his mind soon enough if Billick only gives him 20 carries or 23 that they lied to his face during a press conference with him and Ozzie and he may end up wanting out!!.

If I remember correctly also Billick on a press conference or such said on TV we will GIVE WILLIS A lot of CARRIES here in Baltimore he is 1 heck of a back and we are glad to have him!! here. We will take FULL advantage of Mr. McGahee on the short 2nd and twos or threes.

But what did he do at the end of the game against Cincinnati?! THREW THE BALL EVERY PLAY!!, when all he had to do was hand it off at least once give Willis a try at it and a chance to get the 2 yards and the TD heck he said he had to much faith in Willis and was GLAD TO HAVE HIM FOR SHORT YARD GAINS, well I smell a LIAR.

I bet Willis was beyond disgusted and mad at the Coach the whole week!!. And I sure as HECK do not by any means BLAME THE MAN!!.

They keep throwing the ball way to much more then running it with a STRONG AND RUTHLESS RB A LOT OF TEAMS WOULD "LOVE" TO HAVE

I say run more then throw.

Week 1 vs Cincinnati I mean a 6 year old could have called a MUCH better play. You have 2nd and 2 and you throw the ball!? what the heck, then 3rd and 2 and you throw the ball!? what the heck again then 4th and 2 last TRY and you throw the ball!? SHEEESH what is going on in his MIND!!!!!!!!! If I was a player I would not care if he was my coach or not I would be down his throat in the LOCKER ROOM hoping the rest of the team joins in on asking him what his problem is and why he called such bone headed calls!!.

We only needed 2 measly yards!!, with a back like Willis who received 70 million dollars!! thats ridiculous, to not have used him on 2nd and 2 or 3rd and 2. I swear Billick has good pass play calling calls usually and he did lead us to as NICE RECORD last year by himself (BUT REMEMBER THAT WAS 1 time, DO NOT LET a 1 TIME FLING MAKE YOU THINK BILLICK IS SUCH A WONDERFUL AND GREAT COACH!!).

He needs to let McNair try and go a bit more deeper then he does in his passes unless his arm is way to bad for that, but he just needs to use our "NEW WEAPON" A lot more test it out a lot, its like a new TOY who wouldn't want to keep testing it our or a new CAR.

I am ready for a new Head Coach I don't know about all of you, but I wouldn't mind it one but if Billick was cut he took us to a SB and I am thankful for that but his time has come and is diminishing as I speak, he needs to just be a name and Legend in many ways in the Ravens History. Pave the way for a new Head Coach for next year please Mr. Bischotti (Hope I spelled that right but oh well).

i agree with you, this isnt 2000, where we would run up the gut for yardage....i think that our Offensive line is coming/maturing along very nicely, they seem to be (for the most part) hitting their blocks and opening those holes up for our running backs to run through, yes they arent the HUGE holes that 2-3 lineman could easily run through BUT they are holes none the less, i doubt that any team will allow their defense to be pushed around like that opening holes that big. McGahee will 9as the season progresses along) become more comfortable with his surroundings and what not, he may say he is comfortable in interviews and what not, BUT the only true test to see if he is comfortable with the offense, is when he will be able to use his vision and see the open holes that are "second nature"....he uses his vision and ability to run the football to see the play as a whole, find the open block, and cut back lanes and maybe break a few tackles in the process here and there, all the while Picking up that extra yardage. Istrongly believe that the Ravens are going to use him as a threat both on the ground and as a back field reciever, and i think that the only reason why McGahee isnt getting that many carries right now is simply because, Billick doesnt want to "Wear" him out in games and through his career here, he wants to keep him healthy and re-freshed, i think thats the reason why you dont see McGahee in there EVERY signle down thats is being played...besides the fact that we have 2 VERY capable back ups in Musa and Mike who can run the football

Still not the POINT McGahee clearly STATED HE wanted the BALL ALOT!!!!!. And Billick and Ozzie in the press conference promised him MUCHO CARRIES and failed to deliver so far. He is going to start to get mad, he is a young BUCK still he is plenty healthy to carry it 30 times a game etc, to have him around for a LONG TIME to come!!. And I want to see more carries out of him I could care less bout Musa or Mike but only McGahee he is my main man and he can bust them long runs we need, he needs more CARRIES it's that plain and simple!! or will start to not like it here! thats a fact trust me I have heard somethings not everyone knows about.

yea he did say that BUT you have to give Billick Credit because the fact that, he Doesnt want to Run the ball ragged and completely wear him out. That kind of thing is only looking for trouble (injury, lack of Performance, fumbles, turnovers exc..) so by rotating them in and out, thats keeping them healthy and refreshed and willing to get those extra yards when they touch the ball

He only really played one game last year, he did good. The end of the Cincy game was good. His performance was good against Jets. I don't know how good the Jets are but we only beat them by one possession. It's scary because I thought it would be a blow out.

You make good points and I agree that Billick should try and keep McGahee healthy and refreshed... but the last 2 games have come down to the wire. The bottom line is we want to win. Therefore run McGahee hard as hell and frequently unless the game is a complete blowout. Theres no way you can justify keeping him "fresh" when the game is still on the line... if thats the case then he will get plenty of time to refresh in the offseason when we miss the playoffs becuase we didnt run him hard in close games...

i agree with what your saying but i think that we shouldnt run the "hell out of him".....your only asking for trouble to happen if we do that, but i think we should give him teh ball more times than he is right now, but not so many times that he's exhausted and so tired he cant/wont perform up to the 40 million standards we paid for him, if we run him TOO much he'll eventually end up doing what i said b4 AND will not want to perform..becuz of the Exhaustion

Bottom line i think is Run the Ball more than we are with McGahee, let him get more chances to see the open holes in the defense and break into "day light" and get those BIG runs for ALOT of yardage BUT do NOT over run him to the point of total and utter Exhaustion
