just saw the special on espn. Very well done. Really shows how O.J. has helped to inspire the team and anyone living with ALS. If you haven't seen it yet, watch it!

I saw that today as well; it was really inspiring. I have a sister with Down syndrome, and while ALS and Downs are definitely two different things, stuff like that really helps put things in perspective. The way people like OJ persevere is, as I said, really inspiring.
I watched it earlier it was hard to watch.
I just watched it, it was heart-wrenching. To go from playing with such intensity, to the frail, barely-able-to-speak O.J. that he is now, is so sad.

Lots of class & respect given by his (former) teammates...

I watched, first hand, a very close friend of mine die from ALS. You have no idea how phyically debilatating this disease is. My friend was a great physical specimen who played football, baseball and was an avid fisherman. In the end, I would visit him every sunday and hand feed him. I also would hold his cigarette up to his mouth so he could smoke it. I have never witnessed a more debilatating disease than ALS, you have to see it firsthand to understand what i am talking about. Hopefully, you never will

Several of my patient had ALS when I did homecare, sometimes I would leave their houses and just cry. OJ is an inspiration and I can't believe how fast he has progressed.

It's his declining ability to enunciate, more than an inability to form coherent thoughts, that we're seeing. The man's still plenty sharp, and such a fighter. He definitely makes me look at life a little differently.
