LOVE IT!

We've done this at least once before, but summer is upon us and it's such a wonderful topic so, why not....

Allegash White is a fave.

I like most Belgian Whites, but right now I'm drinking my summer-time "vanilla:" Sol.

WOW. I saw this thread and figured I'd come in and have to defend why bud and natty boh suck, but yeah, Augustiener Helles is a great beer. Erdinger makes a nice Oktobrefest heffe weisen too, and u can get it in the states pretty easy. But my fav beers are any good Bavarian or Belgian wheat beer (Chimay for instance). I can't believe the first two posts are two of my fav beers. You two must not be from baltimore lol. Best mainstream American beer imo is Yuengling east coast and Fat Tire west coast

Nice to see so many Ravens fans with such great taste in beer.

I like Stella, Chimay, Leffe, Sierra Celebration, Sam Smith's Black Sheep. Some of the locally brewed stuff like Oliver's and DuClaw's isn't too bad - but the best is Brewer's Art Resurrection.

Makes me proud to live in Baltimore.

Canned with a widget, like Guinness, for a creamy head.

Black and Tan, Guinness and Harps, floated with a Brutul Turtle. My absolute favorite.

That's some good beer too!

I'm also glad they finally came out with Resurrection in bottles. You have to be careful with that stuff tho.

You're right; this is perhaps the perfect time of year for a good beer dicussion: no real football news, warm weather but not stifling hot like in July and August. I was actually just sitting here drinking a beer and thought I'd share (my thoughts, not my beer). It'll probably come up again next year.

When I used to visit a friend of mine at WVU, IC Light was about all we drank.

Bingo....

So many of you have good taste in beer! I cannot pin down a favorite as I never drink the same beer. My favorite styles would be stout, porter and IPA. VERY hard to find a good pilsner or light lager (as the imperfections in the flavor are much easier to detect).

Does anyone homebrew? All grain...not those generic syrup kits that just require water and yeast. I am trying to build a brew-system at home, but with economy and all that crap I should save my money for the time being. Plus with the hops shortage...brewing is really expensive.

I also need to buy an old refrigerator like another post pic here so I can keg my home beer and enjoy it on draft at any time.

Hope you enjoy that "Inaugural Porter". Its already cost us $3.5 trillion, and more than $10 trillion by 2012.

The more you drink the better the situation looks.

Rocky: That's what day I brewed it, not necessarily an endorsement one way or the other.

Tighthead420: I do all grain and I'd calculate the cost of how much you spend on beer when you do the calculations for homebrew costs. Most good beer is pushing $9 a sixer lately. I can make 10 gallons for about the cost of 12 such beers.

I absolutely LOVE beer, especially dark beer (I can do other types, but dark mostly). My favorite domestic is Yeungling, and I really like Irish reds, so mainly Killians and Sam Adam's puts out a good Irish Red.
