Leroy Hill: Ex-franchise Tagged

7 posts in this topic

After acquiring Aaron Curry at the 4th overall draft pick, the Seattle Seahawks take their franchise tag off Leroy Hill.

Hill recorded a total of 84 tackles in his 2008 season, 2nd highest in his career following 92 recorded in 2006. He's a pretty young guy and since we didn't acquire any LB's in the draft do you think it would be worth pursuing him since he's new to the free agent pool?

In my opinion I would take him. Suggs-Lewis-Hill would seem like a very good combination.

Boldin is asking for way too much in my opinion. I would rather strenghten our defense than try to dish out money on offense.

Boldin is looking like it is not going to happen......unless the wizard pulls out his magic wand...(and a couple of next years draft picks) I don't think it is going to happen!!

Although - - I 2nd that I still want him too

I doubt that we will go get a guy Hill because we added more depth to our linebacking core with Kruger (Hybrid) and Phillips (ILB) through the draft. I see him going the Lions personally.

For the record, it's already being discussed here.

Since the two threads will probably get merged anyway, I'll respond here again. I think he's not worth it unless he were to come extremely (and I mean extremely) cheap, if only because there is no need for him. Unless he were guaranteed a starting job (which he wouldn't be), he'd be an expensive backup.

I completely agree. I like him, but I doubt we pony up the money he's looking for. Detroit would be a great place for him to grow and stand out.
