Wide Receiver

Just plain and simple, were is the "new" difference making WR that we lacked in the AFC championship. The only pick I like from this year is Oher, because RT was a must impove position. So are we really going into next year with the same WRs? I'm really disappointed...

The personnel dept. and the coaching staff probably know something about our current receivers that we don't. Marcus Smith is the likely candidate to justify that. And Demetrius Williams, when healthy, has played pretty well. Clayton is already established as the solid #2 option, so if Smith or Williams can step into the #1 or #3 spot as the season progresses (even with Mason still on the roster), then we should be ok.

We don't need a huge difference-maker at WR if the main obstacle to a championship is the Steelers. We fared decently against the Steelers with the ground attack, and that will continue to be our bread-and-butter. You can't change the team's philosophy overnight, especially with the current set of players.

I haven't given up on Boldin yet. Ozzie is way too smart to just ignore WR. He didn't even draft one late in the draft even though that was our biggest need. If we don't trade for Boldin we'll pick up a bunch of the free agents available i think.

WE SHOULD NOT SETTLE FOR MEDIOCRITY NOT BE SOLD ON POOR RAVENS this, poor ravens that.We are well under the cap any one challenge that bring proof. We have not in the last ten years drafted a number 1 wide out other then clayton. We have not drafted a good Wr's at all ever why? why? why?.Don't tell me any one on the ravens team now there are all bad, stats hands route running. We drafted a R/b Ilb and Cb in this draft, Where in the world is Ozzy mind. we have always done well with our players yes.But we need he need's to break the M/O OF NO WR'S AND GET A ELITE WR's.RAIDERS ALWAYS GET SPEED,DENVER ALWAYS GET'S R/B WE NEED A WIDE OUT MORE THEN A AVERAGE D/E

I dont think the lack of a deep threat is what hurt us in the AFC championship game. The lack of a pass rush and pass defense hurt us more. And what do you know, we drafted a pass rusher and another CB. The lack of proctection for Flacco is also what hurt us, and wouldnt you know it we've taken care of that to. Bottomline, everybody wants a flashy wide reciever but our passing game didnt suffer from not having one. Our passing game suffered because we only sent out two wide recievers on most plays because the only way to keep Flacco up right was to max protect. Thats why everytime the ball was thrown downfield there were 2 or 3 defenders surrounding it, not because our guys are that bad going down field.

I'm not even going to address the fact that you called winning two playoff games mediocre, or that you, in essence called us "poor Superbowl champs". I just have one question: why in the world would you want us to be like the Raiders? Did you see their draft choices?

Ozzie is to smart to ignore the WR position and has stated that he along with the coaching staff are satisfied with the WR's we have on the roster right now. That does not mean he is not open to add a WR if the right opportunity ;) presents its self.

Because the Raiders won 13 games last year, including two road playoff victories, in one of which they knocked off the number one seed,... Oh, wait.

dont like the raiders but I think they will have a good year, I also wouldve skipped crabtree, but for maclin. I think the point is it's time for a change, we got a great qb, a decent wideout wouldn't hurt

So what you are telling me is that we should have picked up J. Walker from Denver and pay him millions of dollars to do absolutely nothing!

Or signed DT Tommy Kelly to the richest contract given to a defensive tackle after a season where he came off major knee surgery and didn't play.

So, you think Mason and Clayton are scrubs? I dare you tell either one of them, especially Mason that. We've got decent wideouts. You guys want a Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald, Chad Johnson, Andre Johnson, or Terrell Owens type of guy and there are just not that many of them to begin with. On a more interesting note, there is not one superbowl ring between them.

Are you sure? They seem like the class of the NFL. I think we should began the transition right away.

I think M. Smith is going to be pretty good. If you look at last season he really did not get a lot of chances to get balls thrown his way. Just ask T. Copper how many times he say the ball, a lot of people did not even know he was on the team.

We will see. I am not going to act like, we are stacked at wideout but its stupid to get angry about not taking one when we addressed some bigger needs with our early picks and got some good value with our late picks. We had a good draft.

we had a decent draft lots of ppl had better drafts there were athletes on the board with much more talent in the second kruger is a nice pick but we should have gotten a dt instead of an end making an end gain 25 pounds is a lil much instead of making a dt lose 10 to 15 pounds
