M&t Bank Stadium Transport

5 posts in this topic

Hey folks,

I'm new to the area. I live in Laurel, MD and I am going to the soccer match at M&T Bank Stadium on 7/24. Parking is $25 and garages are pretty expensive in Baltimore so I was thinking it might be easier (and def cheaper) to take the Light Rail to the game. I know I need to contact MTA closer to the game regarding specifics like whether they will be running later after the game. I wanted to know if any of you have advice on where to get Light Rail, which stations have best parking situation, etc. Basically anything you could let me know about getting to/parking at the stadium or at rail stops. Thanks guys and hope you are finding things to do during the long NFL offseason

From the Laurel area, your best bet would likely be the MARC train -- subject to its schedule:

There are three Laurel area stations. Free parking, no transfers, and it would get you to the stadium area faster than Light Rail. Walk from Camden Station (adjacent to the baseball stadium - B&O Warehouse) down the Eutaw Promenade through lots B/C.

If MARC doen't work for you, take the Light Rail from BWI. There are two stations. The terminus, next to the International Terminal, would require pay parking either in the expensive hourly garage, or the nearby Daily Garage ($9/day with coupon, requires a short shuttle bus ride). The other BWI station (BWI Business District, 678 Elkridge Landing Road Linthicum, Md. 21090) has free parking for Ravens games, but you would have to check with MTA as to its offseason status. The BWI stations are in very secure areas. Note that the Light Rail line splits at Ferndale, with every other train heading to huge Light Rail lot at Glen Burnie (Cromwell Station). When I use Light Rail, I just grab the first train I can get on, and make the transfer if needed.

The closer you get to the City with other stations, be mindful that there is no parking lot security at Light Rail Stations. Other stations along the MD 170 and 648 corridors are at:

My friend is coming up to the soccer game and needs to stay on a hotel on some sort of train route. which trains go into the stadium and does anyone have any hotel suggestions - a lot of them are full so he will have to stay probably 5 or 6 miles from the stadium.
thanks

Both of these hotels are in the county because that is all I know  I hope your friend is driving to the motel room.

The Light rail will let you off by Gate D of M&T Bank stadium. You need to catch the train about 90 mins before the game.
