Yeah, it usually is, but this year they moved from Hawaii to Florida so more people would come. The bad thing about this is that a lot of players in the playoffs who are voted into the pro bowl will probably have to drop out.

I believe this was actually more about players backing out after losing in the super bowl (ie Tom Brady & Randy Moss two years ago).

If anything, because of the Pro Bowl being held BEFORE the Super Bowl, I think more players playing on Super Bowl teams will back out of the Pro Bowl this year, so as to not risk injury before the most important game of the yaer.

they said players playing in the SB aren't "allowed" to play in the pro bowl for that reason.... which i find weird cause some of the best players usually are in the SB (I.E. Larry fitzgerald, anquan boldin, tom brady, randy moss, terell owens, donovan mcnabb, peyton manning..... the list just keeps going on and on)

I think the problem was not so much them backing out of playing...but the lack of time for their replacement to accept and make plans to attend/play. Im sure its less of a problem for the coordinators to replace players who opted out from the beginning rather than those who lost the super bowl and leave them scrambling with little time to get things in order to replace them.

To me this is just a step toward getting rid of the Pro Bowl. We all know the fan voting is a popularity contest, and moving it a week before the SB is a way for Goddell to get rid of the Pro Bowl after 2010 or after they visit Hawaii again.
