thats actually a pretty scary idea... imagine the depth chart

QB- Joe Flacco
QB- Todd Bouman

holy crap
Lol i know, i know, i never said do it, i'm just saying it would be interesting because the cards would probably like that more than getting a 35 year old mason or an injury prone tight end. I'm all for keeping troy smith, i think he's a great player, just looking at every possible option like everyone else here.

I agree putting McGahee in the deal is a good idea. He didn't play much last year due to injury and Rice / McClain could be a good combo for years to come. That would help Arizona's RB issue since they probably don't wanna keep Edge

Well, we'll obviously pick somebody up. Chad Henne from the Dolphins would make sense. They desperately want to get rid of him and Cam Cameron drafted him with the Dolphins. So we could probably get him for a late round pick. B)
Wouldn't mind giving up a late 1st and a 3rd for Boldin. Maybe we can offer them another player (JJ? McGahee? Troy Smith?) instead of the 3rd.
If we give up troy now, who's gonna be our backup?? unles you can swing leinart in the deal too......but then your really getting into cap room problems...

JJ I think would be great, if they would take it... We have young guys who can step in easier at OLB than ILB. You can give them the pass rushing like we did Suggs in his rookie season, and slowly work them into coverage. I think a 1st and 3rd is about the right price for Boldin... He can dominate a game on any given day.

I don't care if he's 29. We took Mark Clayton in the first round.... I would MUCH rather have a 29 year old pro bowl wide out over a 20-22 year old rookie boom or bust wr. I don't understand how just because we need a wr this year, everyone seems to act like every guy in the draft is a can't miss prospect. Truth is two, maybe three of the top 6 wideouts will be great receivers down the road(if we are basing it on prior drafts). WR is one of the biggest bust categories besides qb.

I hate to see us lose a 1st rounder, because ozzie seems to have a knack at getting pro bowl players almost every year, but Boldin is a pro bowler already, and his resume speaks for itself. If we are not close to signing Suggs long term, I even think about that. Can't keep tagging him every year, thats for sure.
DANA POINT, Calif. -- The Dolphins want everyone to understand there is no quarterback controversy on the team because a healthy Chad Pennington will be the unquestioned starter at the beginning of the 2009 season, but it is equally set in stone that the team wants Chad Henne to be the starting quarterback by 2010.
Looks like Parcells wants Henne to be ready to take the reigns in 2010, plus he was a second round pick, why trade him for a lower pick... doubtful

I would not give up Troy Smith or Willis McGahee. Who would we have as RB if we got rid of him? McClain, nope hes a FB this year. Ray Rice, he is no MJD and a 3rd down back.

lol  why have we had way more productive pass rushers than WR

I'm worried that the Eagles are gonna jump on this before us. They have a BOATLOAD of draft picks this year so they can afford to deal for him.

I mean if we do get this done it's either a miracle or the Eagles GM is a moron. He has two first round picks, he can afford to give up 1 and a 3rd and still have 10 picks left.

:(

How bad do they need a WR? Hoping they need ALOT more and somehow have to save those picks.

If we can't have him then Please oh PLEASE do NOT let him go to Pittsburgh.

As much as I hope this goes through, I have a feeling Ozzie gets outbid. I'd be willing to give up McGahee IF Lorenzo is returning, maybe a 3way trade with troy smith, or a suggs trade but I'd hate to see him go.

It will get tricky making this work under Ozzies terms with how he typically handles these. With Boldin being 30, its tough to give up much. Ray Ray needs to get on the horn and convince the decision makers.

I can't see Pitt as being a serious suitor. The only reason I see them in the sweepstakes is to bump up the price for the Ravens or to get the Ravens out of the bidding. I would love to have Boldin but I don't want them to trade the world to get him. It's like someone said....if a trade does happen does it improve the club? Philly should be the contender with all those drafts. Baltimore is limited to what they can offer.
Remember that the Cardinals would rather trade him to an AFC team... so that gives the Ravens an advantage over the Eagles.
:)

why trade to the team u faced in the nfc champ game? haha.
cards can't be seriously thinkin about the eagles....Ravens should be in the best position. and Boldin actually wants to play for us...maybe even at a discount if he believes in the black and purple. :D

I can't see McGahee as part of the trade. There is a cap hit if he is included in the trade. I think the numbers (salary vs cap hit) start to balance next year. BTW, Boldin is 28 and still at least a half year from his next birthday.

There is no way the Steelers will get him. The only mention of the Steelers in the article was the author saying Boldin would be a good fit there. They have shown no interest in him. The steelers don't usually sign big name free agents.

Well if they don't want to trade Boldin to another NFC team that leaves us and the Jets. I would hate it if he went to the Jets...but I don't know about signing him if we can't sign Suggs long term <_< I'm glad I'm not Ozzie...

Hope you're right. Be sweet to have Boldin. We haven't had a receiver that goes over the middle in a long time if ever.

Good point and thanks for the correction. Trying to run through scenarios even being worth while, but I don't see it happening guys.

If suggs is in this potential deal, we better be getting some draft picks back. Nobody trades a 26 year old elite pass rusher for a 28 year old WR straight up. Arizona would be robbing us if that happened.

I think the general consensus is that a 1st + Heap would be somewhat reasonable, but a 1st and 3rd? No way.

The only reason I'm somewhat cool with losing Todd is because he'd want to go back to Arizona anyway; my love for that guy is unlimited.

I'll give up Nicks/Britt/DHB for 2-3 good years of Boldin as it moves us closer to a championship.

Someone mentioned that philly might get ocho, that would mean in our division there would be no recievers to play against other then Ward & Holmes & Miller because we lost TJ, probably Edward, Stallworth, Winslow. Our DB's have got to be happy.

Yeah...as much as some people would like that to happen, im thinking suggs stays here. i mean i guess the ravens franchised suggs so they can work out a long-term deal later, so the ravens plan on keeping him. and im sorry, but im just simply dying to get some baltimore-drafted talent. acquiring a WR that's established is great, but being able to develop a WR in our own system, by drafting him imo is much more awesome.

That would be ideal but our track record of doing that is brutal.
